Yakima Roof Rack Review - 2017 Dodge Durango

Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Dodge Durango, we're gonna be test fitting the Yakima Jet Stream Roof Rack System, and that's gonna consist of part numbers, Y00426 and that's gonna be our 60 inch crossbars we have up top. These also do come in silver under part number Y00429.Right here, we're gonna have our baseline tower kit and that's gonna be part number Y00146. Then under that, we have our fit kit for our naked roof and that's gonna be part number Y06158.As you can see, these bars have a nice aerodynamic shape to them along with this rubber strip up top and that's gonna help cut down on wind noise and drag while you're traveling. Seeing that rubber strip, lets us know we can utilize T track accessories with our roof rack. How we do that, we're simply gonna remove our end cap like so and unlike some systems where you might have to remove this strip and then cut it to length, with this strip, you simply just push down, insert whatever accessory you might like into the channel and then just slide it all the way across to whatever point you might like. Once you have that done, we can just replace our end cap and then we're ready to go.If we come down to our tower, we're simply gonna remove our end cap by pressing in both sides and pulling.

Thule AeroBlade Traverse Roof Rack Installation - 2017 Dodge Durango

Today on our 2017 Dodge Durango, we'll be taking a look at and showing you how to install the Thule Roof Rack System. This is going to consist of the Thule Aeroblade Crossbars, part number: THARB60; the Thule Rapid Traverse Foot Pack, part number: TH480R; and the Thule Fit Kit for the Durango, part number: THKIT1616. The Thule Aeroblade Crossbars are going to be a great solution for carrying your vehicle accessories on your roof. The aerodynamic shape of our bars helps to reduce wind, noise and drag. The weatherstrip on the inside is going to help to prevent dirt, debris and liquid from getting inside your bars. We can also remove that, cut it down and insert channel-mounted accessories. For our foot pack, if we knock out this plastic piece here, we can insert the Thule One-Key System Lock Core. That's going to prevent any theft or tampering of our roof rack system.

Thule Roof Rack Review - 2008 Dodge Durango

Today on our 2008 Dodge Durango, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Thule Aeroblade roof rack system. It's going to be part number THARB53 and the foot pack which is going to be TH450R. As you can see up on our vehicle that we already have one on the back installed, so you can see what it'll like with those raised factory rails. We're going to show you how to place the other one on and get a proper crossbar spread for our items that we're going to be putting on. First thing we're going to do is flip it over, turn the end cap to where we can remove it. If you need to, you can also depress the little button here. Pull the end cap off and then you can slide the scale in since we won't need the scale for this application.

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2007 Dodge Durango

Today on our 2007 Dodge Durango, we'll be test fitting the Thule Roof Rack System using the Thule AeroBlade Load Bars, part number THARB53 and using the Thule Rapid and Crossroad Roof Mounted Railing Foot Pack, part number TH450R. We've already assembled our roof rack system according to the instructions so we'll begin by placing the front part of our roof rack onto our vehicle. We'll want to make sure that the straps on the feet go around our side rails. Once we have them in place, we can then make sure that we have an equal overhang on each side. Then we'll want the center of the foot with the rail by using the Aero indicator on our foot pack and bring our strap around our rail. We'll insert the end of the strap into our foot and then hold it into position while we tighten with the included tool.

Thule AeroBlade Crossroad Roof Rack Installation - 2007 Dodge Durango

Today on this 2007 Dodge Durango, we are going to be test fitting a Thule Roof Rack. We will be using the 60 AeroBlade bars along with the Rapid Crossroad Feet. We already have our crossbar assemblies put together, and now we are ready to mount them on top of the roof of our vehicle. The first thing we need to do is set the load bar up on top of the vehicle, once weve done that, we need to check a couple of things before we started to tighten it down. First we need to make sure that the load bar is overhanging evenly on both the left and right side of the vehicle and we also need to make sure that the load bar is running perpendicular to our side rails. To do that we will find a fixed point up on our side rails on either side and measure the distance from that to the edge of our Crossroad foot and make sure its the same.

As you can see, we do have our back two on the driver's side, and our back one on the passenger's side already clipped in. We're just going to show you how to connect the front here. It is the same way for all three, but it's easier to show you just one. The first thing you are going to need to do, before you place it up on top of the vehicle, is space out your brackets to whatever the center-to-center crossbar spread is of your bars. If you just take a regular measuring tape, measure from one side, to the same point on the other side to get that distance.

We're going to show you how to space it out to where you can have . We're going to show you how to place on that last foot on the side here once we get up on top of the vehicle. Now I'm going to talk about first before we get up there and start putting it in place is that you need to make sure that you space out your feet by the use of those two Allen bolts and you are going to space it out from the center of center of your crossbars. From this crossbar spread it's going to be 26 inches and you are going to need to have a crossbar spread between 24 and 32 inches. This one we'll set it at 26, we're going to move this and set them from the center of the circle in the middle of the bracket to the circle of the other one 26 inches that way when we get it up there it's going to be an easy application and we'll only going to need to switch that once we get it on another vehicle. The nice thing about that hook and loop strap is it's going to make it to where you can roll everything up and make it nice and neat and not have a bunch of cable just laying around. Now, on the front side you have a little bit different of a situation with the fenders, the plastic bumper, the fascia that there is no real place to anchor it down. You can anchor it on the inside of the engine compartment.

Of course, you're going to be able to tie them down however you see fit, but this'll give you a good idea of how to do so. We just have it hooked to the receiver hitch, but you can also hook it to the spare tire underneath the backside or any other fixed mounting point. Moving to the front, the bumper and fenders are going to be mostly plastic, and you're going to have this big fascia down here, so you're not going to really have a point to fix and mount it down below - or off the front of the vehicle. We decided to do it inside the engine compartment. If you choose to do it this way, we'll show you the spot where you can do so. Down here on the side, you're going to have a hole - right on the inside of the fender. You can place your strap in there and your hook just like so, securing it down and coming back underneath to the hood.
