  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 667 lbs
  • Maximum load (break strength): 2,000 lbs
  • Quantity: 2 ratchet straps
  • 90-Day limited warranty

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

These Erickson ratchet straps simplify the process of securing your motorcycle, ATV, boat, or other cargo on your trailer. To tie down your cargo, first secure one of the vinyl-coated steel S-hooks to an anchor point. Next, push down the orange button on the ratchet, pull out the strap, and secure the other S-hook to your cargo. Then ratchet the strap until it's tight. Lastly, fold up any leftover webbing, lift the spring-loaded clamp on the ratchet, place the webbing under the clamp, and release. It's just that simple to tie down your cargo and keep your straps from flapping around in the wind.

Video Transcript for Erickson Ratchet Straps - Standard Strap - EM31353 Review

Today, we're going to be taking a look at part number EM31353. These are the Erickson Ratchet Tie-Down Straps with Web Clamps and S Hooks. The tie-down straps are going to let you secure a cargo in your truck bed or trailer. These units are going to be ideal for securing motorcycles, ATVs, personal watercrafts, any accessories that you want to keep secured in the bed of your truck or on the bed of your trailer. The web clamp is going to be this system here. It lays over at the top portion of the ratchet. It is spring loaded so it's going to close automatically.

What you can do is you can take your excess webbing after you have your connections made and your straps tightened down. Take that excess webbing, fold it up, place it underneath the web clamp and then let the clamp go and it's going to hold that webbing in place, so that way you don't have to worry about it flapping around while you drive down the road. The ratchet mechanism, very simple to use. It's got the nice bright orange release button. That's the right there. This is all going to be zinc-plated steel so it's going to help you achieve and maintain maximum tension on the straps.

The zinc plating is going to offer corrosion resistance. It's going to have plastic-covered handles. These are going to provide nice, easy to use comfort grips and then you're going to have that bright orange release button. It says, "release" straight across it. That's going to help disengage the ratchet when you're ready to unload whatever it is that you have these applied to. Here on the S hooks, these are going to be vinyl-coated steel S hooks so they're not going to scratch your cargo.

They're also going to have the nice wire keeper. Those are going to be located on each S hook. That's going to keep the hooks from accidentally disconnecting or unhooking. The webbing on this unit is made from a durable polyester webbing. It does meet WSTDA recommendations. When it comes to the overall dimensions of the straps, each strap is going to be identical.

You're going to have a thickness or a width of an inch-and-a-quarter. Overall length of twelve feet so it's going to give you plenty of strap to work with. Safe working load limit of six hundred and sixty seven pounds with maximum load or break strength of two thousand pounds. I like the size of the ratchet. It fits right in your hand, very simple to use, one hand operation. I'm going to show you how to assemble the two pieces together. You want to make sure that you have your clamp all the way open and then you want to find the end of your strap. What we're going to do is we're going to bring it through and then we're going to just make a U-turn and bring it right back through. Now that our strap is run through, you lift up on that release button and now you're going to be able to ratchet everything down. I have my strap a little bit twisted so if I ever need to get in there and fix that, it's really simple with the release buttons. All I got to do is lift up to allow me to pull that strap out and then I can simply just run it back through there and fix it if I have any kinks or if have my strap turned around the wrong way inside the mechanism. A really nice system use, again, I do like the web clamp. I'm just going to show if we have everything tightened down and let's say we have quite a bit of excess strap, all we have to do is wind that strap up, bring it through right here. This is going to be our web clamp. Bring it through, that's going to secure over the top of the strap and then again, we don't have to worry about it flapping around in the wind. Again, with this part number, you're going to get two straps. I just pulled one of them out for our demonstration since they're both identical. The straps are nice gray color. The release buttons as well as some of the accents are going to be a bright orange highly visible and then the plastic coverings over the mechanisms, those are going to be black, as well as the vinyl around the steel S hook. That's going to do it for our review of part number EM31353. These are the Erickson Ratchet Tie-Down Straps with the Web Clamps. .

I will be using these tie downs to secure motorcycles in my trailer. I ordered them because they have the hooks with the safety catch. I have used similar products in the past. They provide peace of mind in that I know the hooks can't be released from the anchors due to travel over rough highways. The only negative is that I thought the straps would be a bit thicker. I know from past experience these will do fine and I have used straps this thin before with no problem. 553528

I ordered a few items from They shipped immediately. When I received the box of goods, I was astounded by the quality of the cardboard shipping box (very heavy duty) and how well everything was packed. Bravo to the packing guy. His/her use of extra pieces of cardboard and that staple gun is excellent. You have an excellent site. Great products and I love the reviews. You provide all the information so I can decide what works for me. Thanks, Kelly 320147

We have made a few 600-800 mile road trips with our 6 person family in our Tesla Model X and we love the aluminum rack, waterproof bag, super cool tie down straps and especially the hitch lock. Onlookers have come up to me on our trips and asked about my setup and I tell them how flexible it is in handling varying load sizes and when I am not using it, the compact storage. You should list my setup as a package recommendation on your website.

I use these to tie down my motorcycle trike. After the first few hours they stopped stretching and held fast. I would recommend due to the fact they have saftey clips on hooks so you don't have to worry about them coming off. This should be standard on any tie down strap, but they are not. 262659

- EM31353

The straps were what I have been looking for. A ratchet strap less than 2" with keeper hooks on both ends. The clamp for holding the excess strap is a huge improvement. I use it for securing my ATV on the trailer so I only need about 3 feet. I make a loop of the rest of the strap by wrapping it around my hand and then securing the loop with the clamp. 262064

  • Tow Dolly and Scooter Carrier for 2014 Chevy Volt and Vespa Scooter
  • I took a look at the owner's manual of a 2014 Chevy Volt and it is able to be towed via dolly so what I highly recommend for a dolly is the Demco Kar Kaddy 3 Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes - Tilt Bed Frame # DM9713046 or Kar Kaddy SS Tow Dolly with Disc Brakes - Foldable # DM9713045 because of how much easier they are to use than other dollies. The Kar Kaddy 3 tilts down and the Kar Kaddy SS has a ramp so you can simply drive up the dolly and secure your car on it. These dollies also have a...

  • I recommend a 2-inch Class III hitch for your 2018 Forester since this size offers both higher weight capacity and broader compatibility with accessories like bike racks. The one I suggest is the Draw-Tite # 75876 because it offers relatively simple no-drill installation and you can see the whole install process in the video I linked for you. For a dirt bike carrier I recommend the MaxxTow # MT70101. You can see this item in the linked video. The MaxxTow has a 400-lb load rating and...

Depending on the weight of the scooter you need to carry there is the option of installing Class II trailer hitch # C12092 and adding a carrier for the scooter.
