So far it's holding up with no leaks. Kind of on the flimsy side comparing to the one removed but easy to install. Couldn't use the trim ring inside but after a year still looks new and the lifting/lowering mechanism works smoothly. Overall a good price for the quality.

by:

Purchased this because from Etrailer because they state made in USA. Nowhere is there a made in USA stamp or in print. It looks identical to the made in China ones for $[XX] cheaper on [online resale]. By the build quality I am quite sure that it is Disappointed to say the least

Installed this vent into my Haulmark Transport 6'x12' enclosed trailer. Installation was easy, I cut a 14.25" x 14.25" inch hole between two crossmembers in the roof and dropped it in place. Because the roof on this enclosed trailer is so thin, I used a piece of 3/8" plywood so sandwich between the interior garnish and actual vent. I cut the same size hole into the plywood and left a 2" lip all around. I use 28 #8 x 5/8" stainless screws to hold it in place, pre-drilled with 1/8" bit. I then used roofing tar to seal the vent and put masking tape all around, leave 1" from the flange to ensure good coverage. I then removed the masking tape, leaving nice clean lines. Interior garnish is held in place by #8 x 3/8" galvanized screws.

Huge kudos to etrailer for carrying such awesome products for great low prices and offering super cheap shipping to Canada!

My truck build; I have developed, invented, a new kind of truck cap and also wanted to provide the best venting in the industry and this is why I wanted this product. Although it is a little flimsy it is easy to install and easy to use. And it adapts well for my use. My product (I hope to have available in good stores like Etrailer by years end) is a rigid, folding, adjustable (fits most trucks), one person on & off, and easy to store when off pick up truck cap or camper. See attached photos of my prototype build. Many have inquired to use it for their pets, for camping, and many other uses.

by:

Arrived sooner than expected. Exactly what I ordered. Thank you!

by:

Learned my lesson, not to go cheap! I bought a $20 dollar vent online less a year ago, and the Arizona heat disintegrated it. I called Noah at eTrailer and he was fast, knowledgeable, and courteous. The new vent arrived within a few days and it installed in less than and hour without a problem. Most of the work is in the prep. If you've never done this before, follow the instructions in eTrailer's video, and you won't have any problems. If you need to trim the garnish ring, I snipped it vertically at either side of the corners and then bent the plastic, snapping it like tile or drywall. Easy-Peasy! I really like the smoke tint to, I can see the sky through it. Thanks for the suggestion Noah!

by:

This was an easy drop-in replacement for a broken OEM vent. Well-made, although its usable life in a high-altitude, high-UV western-Colorado environment is yet to be proven. But if anything this vent was better-made than the OEM item. I have no reservations about recommending it to other DIY RV owners.

by:

No more leaky roof!

by:

Was a replacement for another ventline taken out by hail. Item was as presented, price was right shipping was prompt. Will use terai let again if need arises

This vent was exactly what I needed. The original had been broken and the replacement from etrailer was a perfect fit and the quality was better.
Thank you etrailer

This product is a wonderful addition to our travel trailer.
Since we installed the one vent and another vent with the fan we have
not had any problems with them. Great products !!!
I would like to mention that the colored covers let in more light then
the old white cover.

Great. Still looks and works like it should.

by:

I used this vent to replace an older static vent in our high top camper van. The installation and instructions were OK, and the vent opening mechanism works fine. The issue is that the top cover is too flexible, and it always flapped in the wind. I purchased a replacement cover from [online company], which is thicker, stronger with more reinforcing ribs. It works fine. Overall a good product with a flimsy top cover.

by:

Looks terrific, as described. Only wish the done were a little less flimsy. The product fit & looks perfect however the plastic dome could have been a little thicker plastic

by:

UPS has a new habit of delivering to my Post Office. So when I get there, 25 miles round trip once a week I was surprised to find your package there. So the question, why pay for UPS shipping if they are not going to deliver and it cost me additional money just to drive to the Post Office?
The product (vent) is nice, shipping could throw a piece of foam on the bottom of the box so the plastic dome does not get all marred up in the box..

Great service once again, thanks!

by:

This vent was shipped fast and received within a week after. I was contacted by a customer rep to make sure I was satisfied or had any questions. Vent went in quickly and easily. Instructions were clear and I had no trouble understanding what was required. This was the first time I had done anything like this on my travel trailer and am extremely happy with the results. I would order from etrailer.com again in a heartbeat. Great product-Great customer service. Thank you, George J.

After 1 year I am still extremely satisfied with the vent. It is functioning as it should and I have had no problems with it at all.

by:

Pretty solid to be so light weight, UPS beat the hell out of it in route. If it only came with a gasket like the original I removed :-( Fit and function Good, the original lasted 19 years and the plastic dome was still in tact with no leaks, the mechanism broke. 2 Tubes of Hi quality Permatex engine sealer and I hope for the best. I would be happy for 15 years of longevity. The old sealer was petrified from the UV and heat, came off like concrete. That gasket kept it sealed....

RTV Silicone makes for an excellent gasket material if you are mounting flat surfaces. Follow the perimeter all the way around, encircle the hardware holes, and attach the vent. Once it cures, it creates a gasket between the two surfaces. For extra waterproofing, you can come back with silicone caulk and cover the heads of the screws and run a perimter bead around the vent.

by:

Simple and low cost, does the trick!

by:

Good product..

by:

Quality product from a quality company.

by:

I replaced the old vent on a 1983 tent trailer. This vent is twice the size of the original one so there was some cutting and modification of my roof involved but the vent works great. I also got the loctite vent install kit that comes with the sealant and screws to install the new vent. It was a great help for a he install. My roof hasn't leaked since last year.

by:

Fast shipping great product, hardest part was scraping the old sealant off the roof from my original vent that broke, other than that simply screw it down and fitment was perfect

  • Can a Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent Be Left Open While Traveling
I do not recommend leaving the Ventline Ventadome Trailer Roof Vent - Manual - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" - Smoke Item # V2092SP-29 open during travel because the wind could damage the vent cover; this is going to be the same for any roof vent on your trailer. In most cases you'll install this so that it opens facing the rear and that's going to reduce the chances that it gets damaged, but wind can still catch it and rip it off the hinges. If you're looking for a way to keep your vent open during...
