Go Tankless or Go Home

Tankless Water Heater

Say goodbye to quick, military-style showers, refilling your tank, and waiting for the hot water to recover. This revolutionary design replaces your outdated tank heater and gives you the luxury of taking back-to-back showers, washing dishes, and running a load of laundry all at once. Unlike traditional tank heaters that require constant energy to keep your water hot, this tankless, propane-fueled water heater only uses energy when you turn on your faucet or shower, providing the ultimate efficiency at a campground or off-the-grid. The endless, on-demand hot water has no recovery time and is perfect if you're on the road full-time or traveling with a large group.

Relaxing Showers without Scalding or Freezing

Vortex Pic

Has your warm and relaxing shower ever been interrupted by a cruel burst of ice-cold water? Perhaps you've been the victim of a scorching surge of hot water that scalds you and sends you dancing out of harm's way. Either way, it's the worst, but those days are over. Furrion's vortex technology is designed to eliminate those dreaded hot and cold water fluctuations by consistently mixing hot and cold water together to reach your desired temperature, ensuring those warm, comfortable showers.

Safety First

This state-of-the-art technology is equipped with built-in safety measures to ensure you, your family, and your RV stay out of harm's way.

Its dual temperature sensors automatically shut off power if the water temperature exceeds 149 F, preventing the unit from overheating while also reducing the risk of hot water scalding. The unit also has a flame monitoring feature that cuts off the gas supply if the flame goes out to prevent gas from leaking inside your RV and a built-in safety valve that allows pressure to vent at 87 psi to prevent excess pressure and heat build-up.

Anti-Freeze Control Board

This tankless water heater features a control board to keep itself warm when temperatures drop. Freezing water can damage the unit, so an internal thermostat monitors water temperature and will turn the heat on automatically when it gets too cold. This feature will only work if the water heater is receiving power and gas. You will need to remember to winterize the water heater before storage over the winter.

Tammy P. saved the day for us.

Original
order with free delivery was going to ship too late to make it in time to install before our trip. Tammy canceled the first order, reordered and walked the new order with 3 day shipping to make sure it went out. Got our water heater in time to install before the trip. The packaging of the water heater is the best I’ve seen for online purchases.
Fit in original space with room to spare. Only modification was shortening the exterior trim which I anticipated. Installed easily and worked on the first try.
I had room, so I used flexible gas and water hoses to help with getting connections tight and leak tested (specially the gas) prior to sliding unit into place.

Thanks again Tammy!

This water heater was a great choice. It provides all the hot water a person wants while taking a shower or whatever you want. I removed my old 6-gallon water heater and installed this water heater myself. It only took a couple of hours to install. I purchased two flex water lines from Home Depot to hook up the water lines. I did this so I would not have to cut and reroute the existing water lines. The gas line was long enough to where I could screw it onto the water heater. I installed the thermostat on the bathroom wall. It took me about an hour to install. I placed it near the shower so it would be easy to control.
We were constantly running out of hot water with the 6-gallon tank. With this tankless heater my wife can take a "wonderful" shower and I don't get yelled at because she ran out of hot water. We used it all s
last summer almost every weekend and a several weeks.
The only problem I have had is that when we use the shower handheld shower head when taking a shower and reduce the water flow, the water heater shuts off. Then when the hot water flow is restarted, there will be a rush of cooler water. That causes a little problem. When this happens it's nice that the hot water returns within seconds.
Overall, we have had no major problems using the water heater. It works very well. I have had people tell me that this tankless water heater uses more gas than the 6-gallon water heater, but I have not seen that.
Over all it's a great product.

I began this tankless water heater replacement because my OEM tankless has never worked correctly. Once I saw the newer generation models included a quick adjust thermostat I decided to make a swap. I decided on the Furrion due to the rear mounted, “mixing chamber.” None of the doors were a direct fit so I sent a question to etrailer and got, I think, an automated answer that really did not answer my question. Upon ordering the unit I wanted, I was told it was out of stock. I was informed an alternate was available. I took the alternate and it promptly came. Installation was straight forward with some minor fabrication necessary for the door to look good. The Furrion looks very well made and assuming it continues to work I will continue to be satisfied.

Will I order from etrailer again? As of right now, I am sure I will.

Comments
Actually it has worked as advertised. In that respect we are more then satisfied. I do have a suggestion however. In your owners manual you say drain the unit before moving each time. I have no problem with that. But, the two drain plugs are not as user friendly as perhaps they should be. The small plug could have a slit for a flat blade screwdriver and the larger one should possibly be designed with a small T handle. Easily removed and replaced but not over tighten. Still, thanks for asking and I have recommended your heater more then once. So far, it has been a good product at a reasonable price and straight forward install.

I installed this heater exactly to the instructions included and the controller part does not work at all. I've verified that power is going to it but it was DOA. Furrion will not honour their 2 year warranty and replace the part - in fact they will not even respond to messages. Future customers should know that if a part fails the company will not replace it as promised. My $xxx heater still has not worked.

Comments
Well that sounds odd! Let me personally send your information over to customer service for them to see what we can do for you. There is definitely a 2 year warranty and you are within that warranty deadline.

Still fighting other plumbing issues. But so far the unit has worked perfect right out of the box. Thank you for your help with this unit. etrailer has renewed my confidence in their continued helpfully knowledge and products. Thank you.

Comments
It was working as designed. If I did it all over again, I would not go with a on demand for our camping style. We do a lot of boondocking and this design waste a lot of water. But bought a new camper and not using what I bought from u any longer.

by:

well worth the money. endless hot water. no propane waste when away from home. If you want to take showers and wash clothes and wash dishes like a boss, get this.

by:

Is a drop-in replacement for the 5-7 gallon tank type it replaced. It has unique engineered features that make it first in class at delivering endless hot water. Uses same amount of propane as tank-type but you can take a real hot shower and wash and rinse dishes all in the same hour. Great for cold morning long hot showers not possible with tank type and a family.

Comments
It has been performing excellently. For those wondering this unit is reliable and after a year I can say that is very easy on the propane volume, so the cost of energy is less. No one should run water from a source that is not filtered. Dont risk sediment in the heater coils. Too hard of water could be a problem as well over time. Good idea to flush with soft potable water at least a couple times a year - if using year round from camp site to camp site unless you have a quality filter that you flush periodically. site

Hats off to Brittany and the ETrailer team. One week before travel day and I needed a replacement tankless water heater. Called Brittany, she said they had ONE in stock. Sold! Shipped within 2 hours of the order late afternoon Thursday. Received Tuesday via UPS and had was able to install myself same day. Can't thank you enough!

It works great with constant hot water. Very quiet you can hardly here it kick on. Control panel is nice and easy to adjust and read. Installation was simple on my 1949 Trailblazer.

One of the absolute best additions I have made to our camper. Love it and the hot shower for as long as I want that it provides.

It’s been a year and I would not own another camper without an on demand water heater. Excellent purchase and so far trouble free.

I am more impressed with this unit now that I have a year behind it. Started right up after a cold Minnesota winter. I have a nice even flow of hot water.

I was totally impressed with the extremely strong shipping box, wow.

Since I had repeatedly measured the original space before ordering, the unit fit perfectly as did the door. I had to upgrade a small section of the plumbing (been there since 1987) with 1/2" pex & shark bite. The unit installed with ease. Followed the instructions for installation, checking for leaks, connecting the water & LP gas lines. No leaks anywhere.

The unit has about a 1 or 2 second lag time for ignition, which is shorter than the unit I have had on at home for 4 years now.

Thanks you for the wonderful service and the great product.

by:

I think this is the best water heater for a trailer all trailers should have A tankless water heater I went the whole summer with without refilling my propane I’m very glad that I changed it is save me a lot of money

by:

Easy to install took about 3 hrs and that includes go to the hardware store and buying flex hoses for the water lines

by:

Heats great but use CAUTION WHEN WINTERIZING!!!!!
I
loved this upgrade when I put it in last season only to learn a very expensive lesson. This air-purge method of winterizing did NOT work with this water heater, which I have used for 20 years and 6 other travel trailers (all tank water heaters). My routine is to always gravity-drain the system and water heater first, then air-purge hot and cold lines multiple times with multiple configurations of faucets open and closed. Somehow, water was still retained in the heater and something inside froze and burst. User-error somewhere on my part, I'm sure, but again, never had an issue in decades of RV ownership. However, I do have a gripe on the manufacturing that the metal housing/enclosure was NOT sealed properly. The water leak should have all been contained inside the housing and drained to the outside of the RV but there was a considerable amount of leakage to the inside of the RV.

Comments
I reached out to the manufacturer who advised to make sure to use anti-freeze in the winterization process. This is the best way to keep the pipes from bursting.

Love this water heater. No longer have to turn the water off during my shower so I don't run out of hot water! Etrailer had the best price, even lower than my installer could get it for! Etrailer is the best, I have ordered several things from them and their products are great and the customer service is incredible!

by:

Best product you could ever buy for your RV.

by:

This water heater is great. It saves gas by not having a static tank to keep hot all the time and we get to take hot showers without running out of hot water. The only problem I had was I got stuck with a 16" wide door with no option to buy the 18" wide door I needed to install the new water heater. I had to order the proper door directly from furrion at an additional expense.

by:

I needed to replace a failed electric hotwater heater in my DRV Mobile Suites 5th wheel. I wanted an on demand but was a little inimidated because I was going to have to do the removal and install my self. The whole processs could no have been easier. Very happy with its performance and with the ease of installation.

by:

Trim does not cover old holes from water heater

by:

The control board on the one I received was grounded out new from the factory so it would not work. etrailer did not have another one in stock and there were no options to fix the one I had with the manufacturer or anything. This was installed in an RV my mother is living in so waiting until the next month to receive another one was not a viable option. Sent it back to them and ordered from [online] to receive one in a timely manner. Being sent what I believe to be a previously returned and broken water heater and going through the install process just to find out this “new” water heater didn’t work then having to box it up and ship It back was a huge pain in the rear.

by:

Was very easy to use. I installed it in my daughters Tiny house. Hooked up water, gas and power. It came to life immediately and started making hot water. I had a question about under support of unit and etrailer staff answered it quickly. very happy

Best product we have bought for our Travel Trailer.

Gone are the days of trying to hold my eyes open at the firepit, setting a timer for 15 minutes so the next person can get a warm 6 gallon shower. Gone are the days where I had to pre-heat the water heater because the old 6 gallon water hadn't hit it's minimum temperature limit to re-fire, causing a luke warm shower. Gone are they days of a crabby wife telling me she had 1 minute of hot water and me trying (again) to explain how the faucet handles twist differently than at home.

I only had two issues installing.
1 - please be careful not to kink your LP soft copper hose. My 6 gallon LP connection was on outside of the camper and the new tankless was on the back of the unit. I had to make a big sweep to get it connect. I did kink it and I had to work out the kink.
2 - it wouldn't hurt to send a few feet of 1" butyl gasket with the new tankless water heater. My family does HVAC and I didn't feel like driving to the office to get butyl so I went to the hardware store. The only thing the hardware store had was 1/4" or 3/8" butyl for metal roofs. I put a few layers of the butyl between the frame and the camper exterior. Let me just say I wish I had gone to the office for the 1". After we got some water under the bunks from a rainstorm, I reinstalled the tankless using the 1" butyl.
