Rain Shield with Angled Louvers

Rain Shield w/Angled Louvers

Open your RV roof vent any time and in any weather. This one-of-a-kind rain shield fully surrounds and encloses the vent opening, so you never have to worry about pesky rainwater seeping in and damaging the interior of your RV. Its integrated angled louvers let odors, stale air, and moisture escape while allowing rainwater to run off. This solid design saves you time and money since there's no need to purchase and install a separate vent cover.

Not only does this roof vent defeat rainwater, but it protects against bugs and debris too. The vent has 2 different screens to ensure the inside of your RV is free of mosquitos and flies or remnants of leaves and loose bark from fallen tree branches. One screen is located behind the angled louvers and the other on the exterior vent opening - both remove easily for cleaning.

Super fast delivery by etrailer! Easy install! A+++

by:

Replacement installation was easy. Removing the old one without damaging the roof covering and roof clean up, was a careful challenge. Steve R. Was very helpful on the phone with finding the correct replacement within my dimensions and unit function. He knows his stuff! As always etrailer is the only place I shop for my travel trailer parts and accessories. Thanks!

by:

This went in really well. It fit perfectly on my older vandura roof and I am pleased

by:

Final result is nice. I'm really pleased with the low profile on the roof. It's kind of a hassle to install. They should rethink the piece that connects the roof section to the ceiling section. Make it telescope so you don't have to cut it.

by:

Perfect product. Now I can leave the vent on my trailer open year round.

by:

Air exit was partially blocked by a plastic shroud, greatly reducing the airflow. I planned to use it for the exhaust of my portable A/C, but just wouldn't work. So I returned it.

by:

etrailer has not let me down yet!!

by:

Perfect for what I needed! Couldn't beat the price, shipping was free (I spent over $100 total) and it arrived in two days! Great quality and easy instale!

Love the fan light combo plus it's just simple to use. We did not like the Maxxfan Deluxe that fell off on vaction someplace in Wyoming it had two many oppositions and would turn on and off for no reason.
Installation was ok but had to make some modifications fiberglass in only 1/2 inch thick and had to buy different fasteners.
Over all love it big inprovement.

by:

So far so good. It lets very little light through from outside, in the main living space I would like this, as I have kids who are still at the napping age. in the bathroom I don’t like it so much. Other than that it appears to be well made.
Installation was a pain, but no fault of this unit. The old butyl tape was a lot of work to get off the roof.

by:

Huge upgrade from the stock fan, vents a good amount of air. The light was a nice bonus that I didn't think I would use but now I almost exclusively use the light on the fan over the stock light in our bathroom.

by:

I am happy with this fan in my Ford Transit Connect. It is a standard height SWB Transit so I didn't feel I needed a more powerful fan. I like the built in light. I need this to fit in my garage so this fit the bill for a reasonable price. I will be running it off a portable power station and solar to charge the power bank. My van already had a popup vent installed so this should move some air through nicely. The installation after watching a few videos went smooth and took a few hours. I cut the roof hole, put down butyl tape and self leveling lap sealant. My roof is thinner so I did not need to use the middle extension piece. I did use my own 1" self taping screws. I would say I have moderate skills with tools and measuring. My electrical skills are minimal but I did not have any issues with this. Just put it in this morning so I haven't camped with it yet.

by:

No leaks, holding up well to UV - but really doesn't have the airflow I wish it did. I have it on a timer (solar charged batteries) and it runs 30 minutes off 60. In a small 6x12 cargo trailer with decent inflow vents on the sides, it is better than nothing especially for storage (Texas heat and cold). But if even if I turn on full time when I am working in the trailer, it does very little to be more comfortable. So works OK for small space keeping dampness/moldiness/sweat in check, but not enough to "change out the air". I do love though that it is set-n-forget. Never worry about leaving the vent top up, driving at speed, or any weather issues, even bugs/vermin. With it being on a timer, it just does its thing perfectly. I only wish it did more volume.

by:

Just finished installing two of these vent units in a small travel trailer. The original arrangement did not include fans. These fan vents will reduce occurrence of smoke alarms while cooking. We sometimes camp without overnight shore power, so the fans will also be convenient for providing overnight ventilation without rigging temporary fans and being concerned with rain coming into the vent. The LED lights appear to be just the right amount of lighting. Also, the low profile for the control switch is a good arrangement because the ceiling height is only about 6 ft.

by:

Very happy with this item. Installation was straight forward

by:

This product was easy to install and does exactly what I need from it. The LED light and fan combo is perfect and I highly recommend this product. Thumbs up!!

  • Recommended Roof Vent For A 2017 Forest River Rockwood Signature Ultra Lite 8329 Travel Trailer
Manufacturers do not list the size of the vents that are used in their RV's so while it is most likely going to fall in the 14" x 14" or 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" category I still recommend measuring the cutout hole size to confirm. For a standard vent with no fan I recommend the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent - Manual - White # MA00-03700. This vent has an integrated rain shield that prevents rainwater from entering your trailer and eliminates the need to install a separate vent cover. The cover...

  • Fan to Replace MaxxAir That Doesn't Have Replacement Motor
We don't make these parts, we just sell them, though I can tell you the 10-03817z is not something available. The best we can offer is a new vent like the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent # MA00-03700. I have added a link below to our entire selection of roof vents.

  • Using Powered Vent Fan In RV Bathroom
It's not recommended that powered vents be used over a stove or in a bathroom because the additional condensation in the air can harm the electrical components in the fan motor. You could use a vent without a fan like # MA00-03700, but a fan installed in a bathroom or over a stove would have a shorter life expectancy.

  • Height of MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 Once Installed on RV
Yes, the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent # MA00-03700 will only sit about 4" tall once installed as it does mount flush on the roof. The portion under that upper flange can be adjusted depending on how thick your RV roof is (it fits roofs 1" - 4-1/2" thick). I am not sure what MaxxAir vents you are currently using but you should be able to easily determine if these will allow you to pull into your shed without removing anything by simply measuring the difference between the height of your...

  • Trailer Roof Vent Replacement For Thin Roof
Replacement screens are designed to fit specific models of trailer vents, and there isn't an option for one with similar dimensions to yours. Since the company went out of business and there aren't going to be replacements, the only recommendation I can offer is a new vent. It sounds like you have the standard 14" x 14" roof vent (technically it is 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" though), and a thin roof based on the garnish dimensions. So for that the best option is the MaxxAir Mini Trailer Roof Vent,...

  • Replacement Vent For Trailer With no Replacement Lid Available
There is not a replacement lid for a trailer vent that measures 13-3/8" by 13-1/8" so the only option I can give you is to replace your entire vent. The vent opening would need to be re-sized a bit to make it larger, but this will give you the standard sized, 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" roof vent. You can do this with the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - Non-Powered - Black # MA00-03750 or White # MA00-03700. These vents fit roofs 1" to 4-1/2" thick and come with the mounting hardware, so the...

  • Why Aren't Powered Roof Vent Fans Recommended Above Showers and Cooktops in RVs
Because of the high humidity environment around showers and range cooking surfaces, it isn't recommended that a powered vent like the # MA00-04002K fan be used in those areas. The high humidity will dramatically shorten the lifespan of the circuit boards and motors of a powered fan. You can certainly install the fan, but you'll likely not be pleased by how long it would last. In that kind of environment, a manual vent like # MA00-03700 is what's recommended. • Can Maxxair RV Roof Vent/ Fans MA00-03700 Be Mounted on a Wall
The MaxxAir # MA00-03700 roof vent/fan you mentioned can indeed be mounted to a wall instead of the ceiling/roof. This being said, the wall will either need to be at least 1 inch thick, or you'll need to add some furring around the rough opening to make the wall thickness at least 1 inch. Being mounted on the vertical could make the vent assembly more prone to water intrusion, so you'll want to do a good job sealing the flange of the vent to the side or the trailer. The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-06200K has a 12v fan in it so it's not recommended for use above a shower because there's a risk of water damaging the vent. If the vent hole is in the bathroom but not over the shower you'll be able to use this vent. If the vent hole is above the shower you just need a non-powered vent like the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - White # MA00-03700 or # MA00-03750 for Black. For a basic roof vent that will just help keep heat from really building up in your car hauler trailer I recommend the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent # MA00-03700 because it has a manual lift and is covered so it requires no electricity and you can keep it open all the time - even when you're driving or it's raining outside. While we have heard of people using electrical vents like the MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # MA00-06401K above a tub/shower, it is not meant to be installed in that location because water from the shower (whether it is from steam or from someone dancing around while singing in the shower) can harm the electrical components and cause the vent to fail. • Is Installing 2 Vents on a 12' Enclosed Trailer Overkill in Florida
Hey CJ, thanks for reaching out! For standard manual vents you will be perfectly fine adding 2 of them on your enclosed trailer, and it will definitely be worth it down in Florida. If you were looking at a powered option with a fan I would say more than one is overkill, but that's not the case when these aren't powered. If you're hesitant, you can always start off with 1 vent and then add another if you feel that it's needed. I'm assuming that you aren't looking for a powered vent.
