Question:
You say not for installation above a shower. Why is that? I am replacing my current vent in my bathroom, so it will not go directly above the shower but it will be in the same room as the shower. It will be about two feet away from the shower.

Because of the high humidity environment around showers and range cooking surfaces, it isn't recommended that a powered vent like the # MA00-04002K fan be used in those areas. The high humidity will dramatically shorten the lifespan of the circuit boards and motors of a powered fan. You can certainly install the fan, but you'll likely not be pleased by how long it would last. In that kind of environment, a manual vent like # MA00-03700 is what's recommended.
I've linked you to a product description video for the vent I recommended.
