Why Are Some Roof Vents Listed As Not For Use Above Showers

Question:

I am looking for an upgrade on my new 2022 grand bath vent. Why do the instructions for the Maxxair say not for use in showerinch ? What other manufacture allows me to use their fan in a shower ? Thanks

The MaxxFan Deluxe Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan and Thermostat # MA00-06200K has a 12v fan in it so it's not recommended for use above a shower because there's a risk of water damaging the vent. If the vent hole is in the bathroom but not over the shower you'll be able to use this vent.

If the vent hole is above the shower you just need a non-powered vent like the MaxxAir Mini Manual RV Roof Vent - White # MA00-03700 or # MA00-03750 for Black. These vents have a rain shield cover which allows them to be used in any weather and also while driving.
