can this vent fan kit be mounted thru a wall instead of the roof?

The MaxxAir # MA00-03700 roof vent/fan you mentioned can indeed be mounted to a wall instead of the ceiling/roof.

This being said, the wall will either need to be at least 1 inch thick, or you'll need to add some furring around the rough opening to make the wall thickness at least 1 inch. Being mounted on the vertical could make the vent assembly more prone to water intrusion, so you'll want to do a good job sealing the flange of the vent to the side or the trailer. A vent install kit like part # 344270KITW is recommended.

If you decide to go this route, I'd recommend to mount the fan as near to the ceiling as you can to exhaust the hot air that will collect there.
