Video Transcript for Lippert Outriggers for Manual RV Steps Spec Review

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer.com and today we're gonna take a brief look at these Lippert Outriggers for manual RV steps. These outriggers are going to help you install your manual RV steps on your RV and these outriggers are going to work with Lippert, Stromberg Carlson, or Hickory Springs steel manual pullout steps and Lippert Tread Lite aluminum manual steps. Now, I do wanna point out that these are not for use with a single steel manual pullout step. Now this features a sturdy steel construction with a rust resistant black powder coat finish and I thought it would be easier and probably more beneficial for you to actually show you a diagram of the measurements rather than trying to line these up with a ruler. So on your screen, I am including a diagram of all of the important measurements that I believe you will find helpful, making sure that this is going to work for you. You can also find this diagram listed on this product page if you need to refer to it later.

Now this is going to be a simple bolt-on installation. Hardware is not included with this. You're just going to simply get these outriggers. But the hardware that you are going to need to install these, you're gonna need four 3/8 of an inch in diameter by 3/4 of an inch long carriage bolts and four lock nuts. Well, that's gonna conclude our brief look today.

I do hope that it was helpful for you. Again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.

Not at all!

The pictures of the various steps did not show the correct rear mounting brackets. I call about using the optional brackets and how they were installed. Service person indicate they would fit. Ordered the unit and brackets, but they were back ordered for 2 weeks. Arrived as scheduled. unit measured up fine to old unit, but the rear mounting brackets would not work. After looking at the old unit, I drilled off the old bracket and fitted them to the rv and the new fit in fine, but i needed several new mounting holes to attach them to the new steps. i will attach picture of the old bracket installed. FWhen the installation was complete the new steps meet with t he wife's approval.

I'm sure this is just what's needed to install steps on some trailers it won't work on mine. it's too long and won't attach to my frame. Even if I cut it off it won't go over a lip to get to the frame.

by:

Very happy with our made in America products we purchased.

by:

I am missing 1/2 of the package. I only received 1 outrigger instead of the set. However, Teresa, a customer service representative, has placed a reship order for the other outrigger. I appreciate the willingness and ease of correcting this issue.

by:

Attached to my Lippert steps and installed without any problems

by:

Well made, simple install, although a floor jack is recommended to install.

by:

We always go to etrailer when we need parts. My wife needed steps with a 7" rise because of her knees. We neede these brackets to install the new steps. Worked great and got here very fast!! Thanks again to etrailer!!

by:

Fast shipping and great price!

by:

This is my second set of outriggers, they were good replacements but my first set both broke apart. Maybe bad batch of metal. No external damage to the steps or what they were mounted to.

by:

1st thing why was one longer than the other.
Nothing
was ever said in description about that.
None of the holes matched up to my lipped 3 step steps.
Good thing I'm mechanicly inclined so had to drill separate holes for it to bolt together.
But I made it so it would work..
Steps installed...

by:

Brackets worked good, the angle iron part could have been longer for stronger support, otherwise it welded up fine.

by:

These outriggers were easy to install and after a year of use have held up just fine. Very satisfied.

by:

Did not need outriggers but the return process was very easy. Customer service rep was excellent

by:

Very satisfied with product received. Installation went well.

by:

They were too long for my trailer

by:

No instructions on how these outriggers are installed. Not even close to what I needed. If I would have recived what I needed I wouldnt,d be going throgh this

  • Can 28 inch Wide 4-Step RV Steps Replace 27-1/2 inch Steps on RV
The RV steps do get a bit wider as you add more steps to them. The closest option we have is the Alumi Tread part # LC432698 that you referenced which would be 28 inches wide. For basically all RV applications you can still install the steps but you'd have to move the brackets out or remove and install new ones. For new brackets we have the outriggers part # LC301704 which would work well.

  • How to Tell if the Pull-Out Step for RVs # LC432698 Will Fit a 2014 Cedar Creek 38CK 5th Wheel
Most aftermarket RV steps will replace the OEM steps without modification. The same is the case for the Alumi-Tread Manual Pull-Out Step for RVs # LC432698 that you referenced. These steps do have a weight capacity of 300 lbs so they are pretty sturdy. I am attaching some photos that give the different dimensions of this step. You can use these to compare them with your current steps and brackets for fitment. If they happen to not have the same mounting dimensions you can always have the...

  • Brackets Needed To Mount Lippert Pull-Out RV Steps To A Wooden Storage Space
Hey Steve, Steps like the Alumi-Tread Manual Pull-Out Step for RVs # LC432698 are attached directly to the frame using the side brackets. These have a bunch of pre-drilled holes in them to attach to the frame of the RV from below. If you're wanting something a bit sturdier then you can pick up some relocation brackets # LC301704, which would mount to the sides of the step brackets and have a much larger lip to secure to the underside of the wood platform.

  • How to Choose Steps for a 1973 Airstream Trailer
I am certain we have but I don't exactly have a way to look up which ones that was. Therefore, in order to find the correct steps you would need to measure the distance between your outrigger brackets. You can then use this information to find the correct steps for your trailer. You will also want to make note of the distance from the ground to the top of the outrigger brackets as this will also be used to determine how many steps you need. If you can't find a step that matches the mounting...

  • Recommended Fold Out Steps for a 2024 Coleman Lantern
Hey Dan! The Alumi-Tread Manual Pull-Out Step for RVs item # LC432696 you were looking at would be a great option so long as you have an entry height of 31" - 34". They have a 300 lbs capacity and measure 24" wide x 8-1/2" deep. I have linked a diagram below so you can compare the dimensions of your current steps to these to see if they'll work. For mounting the stairs you can use the Lippert Outriggers for Manual RV Steps item # LC301704. These mount on the steps using item # LC118155-72...

  • Replacement Double Step Recommendation for Coleman 17 ft Camper
At one point the Flexco Steps part # SMFP-2100 that you referenced were listed as having the same width you need of 26-1/8 inches between the mounting brackets. We now know that the dimension is really 27-5/8 inches. Since we don't have a step that matches directly you'll either need to move your current brackets or have new ones installed with the Outriggers part # LC301704. The steps of this kit have an 8 inch rise whitch is pretty standard and would be a great option.

  • Brackets For Mounting Lippert Manual Pull-Out RV Steps To A Trailer Frame
The only brackets we currently offer for RV steps are the Lippert Outriggers for Manual RV Steps # LC301704, which would mount directly to the frame of the trailer. Supports are definitely needed to hold the steps securely to the trailer frame and help prevent as much of a springboard effect when walking up or down the steps. Lippert is essentially stating to either mount it directly to the frame or build a frame off of the trailer frame to securely attach your steps, which you could do...

  • Replacement Manual Pull Out RV Steps For A 2021 Keystone Cougar
The closest option we have to a 27" mounting bracket width would be the Flexco Manual Pull-Out Steps for RVs # SMFP-3200L, which is 27-1/8" wide. If you have an extra 1/16" on each side to accommodate this you could use these steps. • Is There a 3 Step RV Pull Out Step that Can Replace LC432682
There are 3 step pull out kits similar to the # LC432682 that you referenced but they are wider across the board so the exact mounting hardware you are using now won't work. The part # LC432690 would be a great solution for what you have but it's 27-1/2 inches wide and what you have now is 2 inches narrower. For new brackets you'd also want the part # LC301704.
