Dual Folding Arms with Anti-Sway Cradles

Saris Axis 2 Arms

The rack has dual arched arms that have a more stylish look when compared to racks with arms that slope straight up. They provide excellent support for your bikes and leave ample ground clearance for steep driveways and bumpy roads.

Saris Bones Hitch 2 Folded Up On Vehicle

The arms can fold down, leaving a smaller footprint so you can keep the rack on your vehicle to park in your garage. And when stored in this configuration, it doesn't take up as much space in your garage.

Saris Bones Hitch Arm Adjustment Knobs

To raise or lower an arm, loosen the plastic twist knob and slide the arm off the grooved section and onto the smooth, inner part of the tube. Rotate the arm to the desired position, slide it back onto the grooves, and tighten the knob back down to lock the arm in place.

 Saris Bones Hitch AntiSway Cradles

Anti-sway cradles with ratchet straps hold your bikes firmly in place. Each set of cradles has two straps that secure your bike along the top tube and one that secures the seat post or downtube. This multi-point contact helps keep your bikes from rocking back and forth, reducing bike-to-bike contact.

Easy Tilting for Cargo Area Access

Saris Bones Hitch 2 Tilted Away From Vehicle

The rack tilts down without your bikes loaded. This means you won't have to remove the whole rack to access your cargo area for grocery runs and other errands.

Saris Bones Hitch 2 Tilted Away From Vehicle

To tilt the rack, pull the yellow handle on the base of the rack and lower the mast. When you're ready to go, just raise the mast back up. You will hear an audible click to confirm that the mast is locked in place.

1-Person Installation

Saris Bones Hitch 2 Adapter Sleeve and Hitch Pin

The Bones Hitch is made of lightweight steel that weighs less than 20 lbs, making it one of the lightest racks on the market. To install it, slide the shank into your hitch, insert the hitch pin and tighten it down using a 3/4" wrench (sold separately). The hitch pin is threaded to help eliminate rattle in the hitch receiver during transport. A clip is also included to keep the pin in place.

Saris Bones Hitch 2 Adapter Sleeve and Hitch Pin

You can install the rack in a 1-1/4" hitch or in a 2" hitch. To use it in a 1-1/4" hitch, simply remove the adapter with the included Allen key.

Available Security and Adapter Bar

Saris Bones Hitch bike locks

A cable lock and an anti-rattle hitch lock (sold separately) are available to secure your bikes to the rack and the rack to your vehicle.

Saris Bones Hitch 2 Adapter Sleeve and Hitch Pin

If you have a women's bike, kid's bike, or any other bike without a straight, horizontal top tube, you will need an adapter bar (sold separately) to properly mount your bike. The bar fits between the seat post and handlebar stem post of your bike to create a top tube so your bike hangs level on the rack.

  • Which Hitch Lock Fits Shank of Saris Bones Hitch Bike Rack
The Saris hitch lock part # SA3022 and the # SHP2082 are totally different hitch locks/anti-rattle devices. The part # SHP2082 is designed to fit hollow shank accessories and the # SA3022 is designed to fit shanks that are threaded. A Saris hitch bike rack it would require the # SA3022.

  • Trailer Hitch Receiver For a 2013 Toyota RAV4 To Carry Up to 4 Bikes Or a Cargo Carrier
The Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13406 is a great option for your 2013 Toyota RAV4 LE. This receiver is made in the USA and has a lifetime warranty. The hidden cross tube helps give it a clean factory look as well. The receiver is rated for up to 350lbs which is plenty to carry your bikes or additional cargo. You will want to install the T-One Vehicle Wiring Harness # 118578 when you install the receiver. This will allow you to add Auxiliary Lights # C53201 behind your bikes or the...

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid
When looking at capacities you will always go by the lowest rated component in the system. Since the tongue weight capacity of the 2016 Toyota RAV4 Hybrid is 150 pounds that is the capacity you must go by even if a hitch can handle more. Since you want to carry 4 bikes on a hitch I recommend Class III trailer hitch # e98864 because it fits Hybrid models, it doesn't have any special requirements for bike rack use like the Curt hitch, and the 2-inch receiver is compatible with many accessories. The...

  • Weight of the Thule Hitching Post Pro
Thule's Hitching Post Pro hitch bike rack # TH934XTR has a shipping weight of 41 lbs, so by the time you remove the packaging materials from the equation the rack's actual weight is right around 38 lbs. This is a fairly average weight for a 4 bike rack. Just in case your looking, our lightest 4-bike carrier is the Saris Bones, part # SA884, at 22 lbs. This is an entry-level bike rack with basic features. This bike rack will fit Class II and higher trailer hitches and you can add a hitch...

  • Bike Rack Recommendations for a 2015 Toyota Sienna
With any trailer hitch mounted bike rack you will have to go back and do something with it prior to opening the rear hatch on your 2015 Toyota Sienna. Some racks tilt, some can swing off to the side, some will just have to be removed. But they all have one thing in common and that is that they will have to be manually manipulated in some way so you can open the rear hatch. Thule and Yakima used to make racks that had a base part that fit in the hitch and then separate parts that could...

  • Trailer Hitch and Bike Rack for 4 Bikes on a 2007 Honda CR-V
First it is very important that you know the tongue weight capacity of your 2007 Honda CR-V. It is limited to 150 pounds. That means the combined weight of the bike rack and the bikes cannot exceed 150 pounds. Adult bikes average about 30 pounds per bike so it can add up quick on a 4-bike rack. With that said I recommend going with trailer hitch # 75547 because it is the only one out of the hitch options that will allow you to carry more than 2 bikes. I have linked a video showing an example...

  • Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for a Mom with a 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee Limited
I personally recommend going with the Saris Bones, part # SA884. This rack is a bit lighter at 22 pounds and much easier for me to handle and maneuver when putting the rack in the hitch. For added security you can add the Hitch Tite Anti-Rattle Hitch Lock, part # SA3022, and the Cable Lock, # SA981. When carrying women's, children's or alternative framed bikes, I recommend using an adapter bar like the Swagman Easy-Out, # 64005. This bar attaches between the seat post and the handlebar...

  • Recommendation for a Lightweight 4-Bike Carrier
Our lightest 4-bike carrier is the Saris Bones, part # SA884, at 22 lbs. This is an entry-level bike rack with basic features. This bike rack will fit Class II and higher trailer hitches and you can add a hitch lock, # SA3022, and a cable lock, # SA981. Another bike rack that you may be interested in is the Hollywood Racks Traveler 4-Bike Rack, # HR8500. This is a more economical option, but it does come with anti-sway cradles to keep the bikes from moving when you are driving. It also...

  • Saris Bones vs Thule Apex XT Bike Racks for a 2021 Tesla Model Y
The only time I would recommend the Saris Bones Hitch 4 Bike Rack # SA884 over the Thule Apex XT 4 Bike Rack # TH9025XT is if the weight of the bike rack was the only factor since the Bones weighs 22 lbs while the Apex XT weighs 35 lbs. The Apex XT has integrated bike and rack locks as well as an anti-rattle knob which means it's a tool-free installation and you don't have to remember to grab the locks before you leave. The cradles are also spaced apart 7" center to center which is more...

  • Recommended 4-Bike Rack on 2017 Buick Enclave That is Easy to Use
Assuming you have a 2" hitch receiver such as the Draw-Tite # 75528 on your 2017 Buick Enclave, the Thule Hitching Post Pro # TH934XTR is not difficult to install, requiring you only slide the rack's shank in your hitch receiver. However, it does weigh 40 lbs, and though you may be more than able to handle a rack that heavy without any difficulty, there are lighter options available that are going to be easier for anyone to carry. A lightweight 4-bike hanging rack similar to the Hitching...

We can definitely get your 2019 Volkswagen Atlas set up with a trailer hitch receiver and 3- or 4-bike rack, and let's go ahead and get started with the hitch. The best option that fits your '19 Atlas is from Curt, and is the following part number: - Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver # C13366 The reason the # C13366 is the best for a bike rack on your Volkswagen is because it has the best ground and bumper clearances for the hitches that fit your '19 Atlas. • Can this Saris Bones Hitch 4 Bike Rack be Installed on a 2014 Audi Q5 3.0T Gas
The Saris Bones Hitch 4 Bike Rack # SA884 (formerly Axis 4 bike rack) would fit and work well on your 2011 Audi Q5 as long as you have a hitch installed on it like the Curt Class III part # C13136 which is a custom fit hitch for your vehicle. To install this hitch there is this tech tip: Models with back-up camera may require fascia trimming for the hitch receiver tube. Any time you put anything at the rear of the vehicle you are going to end up blocking a portion of the viewing angle...
