Features to know about

Easy Storage for Small Spaces: 30 lb Lightweight Build

The Swagman XTC2 TILT is built for riders who need a rack that doesn’t dominate their garage or shed. Weighing only 30 lbs, it folds up when not in use—wheel trays tuck neatly against the mast so the whole rack can slide into a closet or stand in a corner. The lightweight steel frame keeps it durable without being a bear to move.

Everyday Convenience on the Road: Tilts With Bikes Loaded

No need to unload just to get to your gear. A spring-loaded release lever lets the rack tilt back, even with both bikes strapped in place. Whether you’re reaching for a cooler or a backpack, you can tilt and grab what you need without disturbing your setup. It’s one of those small functions that makes every trip smoother.

Keeps Bikes Steady and Protected: Padded Frame Hooks and Adjustable Hoops

The padded, ratcheting hooks slide down over the frame to hold your bikes tight without scratching paint or finishes. Each bike rides in its own adjustable wheel hoop, secured by a rubber strap that keeps the tires fixed through bumps and turns. The hoops slide easily along the tray to fit bikes with up to 52" wheelbases and 2.5"-wide tires. For fat-tire setups, optional 5" hoops are available.

Quiet and Solid Ride: Built-In Anti-Rattle System

The threaded hitch pin and built-in anti-wobble device lock the rack firmly into the receiver so it doesn’t shake or clunk at highway speeds. A removable aluminum adapter sleeve makes it simple to switch between 1-1/4" (Class II) and 2" hitches. With a 35-lb per bike capacity and 3" shank rise, the XTC2 TILT stays stable and level wherever the drive takes you.

Quick Setup, Long-Lasting Finish

Pull pins on the mast and trays make assembly fast and tool-light. When it’s time to store the rack, the same pins let everything fold down or up in seconds. A black powder coat adds rust resistance to the steel frame, keeping it looking clean season after season.

by:

Easy to use, light and does a great job keeping my mountain bike secure. has held up well for the year that I've had it. I assume it will hold up for a couple more at least. The only thing I'll need to replace is the rubber straps. The sun and stretching takes it's toll on them. Great price compared to all the big names and again, does the job well!

by:

A little rusty in small spots. Access to the tilt mechanism a little hard when loaded with bikes , good value overall for price. Very secure mounting, almost no wobble while driving!!

by:

works well, just make sure you tighten everything very well. the instructions weren’t the clearest and i had reversed one of the wheel holders causing my bikes not to fit. one this was corrected it fit the bikes great and held them tightly on a 275 mile round trip. fits nicely in my garage when not installed.

by:

Very sturdy bike rack but still light enough to easily handle. Looks great with the bikes on! Bicycles seem very secure! Great product for the price. Shipping was exceptionally quick and package arrived in perfect condition!

by:

This is an excellent bike rack. Reasonably light and easy to attach and detach from the hitch receiver on my pickup. Also easy to get bikes on and off while holding them securely during transport. The fold down feature is nice if you have a hatchback. Great value!

by:

VERY easy to use and set up. I can place rack and load two bikes in five minutes (I timed myself). Even less time to reload bikes after our ride.
The bikes don't swing or move about even on gravel roads which protects the car finish from dings.
Price is great and I like the Swagman Website for this Canadian company.
Tilt ability to get into hatch of our stationwagon only takes seconds. Balanced so it easy to move rack even when loaded with bikes
Wheel wells adjusting screen is stiff

by:

Very happy with rack , only took a couple days to ship , built very well perfect for my two mountain bikes, works awesome

by:

Easy to use once it is put together and adjusted. I would caution that it does require assembly which is not simple for any one like me who is 'tool challenged' and the adjustments for wheel base would be difficult for someone with limited strength (hubby had to do those parts for me). Now that it is together I can handle putting on and off the SUV and loading bikes all my own. Very easy to fold up and store and takes minimal space in the garage. Great versatile bike rack!

by:

This should be a good bike rack, have the heavy duty one for our fifth did what it was suppose to do. I ordered this and the reciever hitch for my wife’s 2017 Honda CRV everything went together just like your review videos. Great job!!

by:

Good bike trailer overall. Easy fit on the hitch receiver that I also purchased from this company. Fits by large 29” full suspension MTB easily. Bars that hold the bikes down stick a little and I always seem to be adjusting things but those are small critiques. Would buy this again. Very good value.

by:

Install is easy. Doesn’t quite fit my wide MTB tires, but it works. That’s my issue, not the racks. Tilt function is not convenient and doesn’t offer enough tilt to open the hatch door on the van and definitely not enough to open the truck bed.
I’m still using it today. It’s excellent for the price, but not great overall.

by:

Looks to very well made. It was easy to assemble and it held the bikes solid for our first trip through the mountains. The center slide locks for the bike frames are a bit tight to move but hopefully they’ll get better after a few uses.

by:

I have been very happy with this purchase. It was easy to put together, light-weight enough for me (female) to carry around and manage into the 2" hitch, and usage is intuitive. The bike attachment is firm, but with my slanted bar, I have slightly modified how I used the upper attachment to get a secure fit by matching the angle. The tilt mechanism is highly useful for loading and unloading. Would purchase again!

by:

I have been using your site for my trailer related needs for years. You have been always second to none. I do not know what pixie dust you use, but the shipment always the fastest. The product is always greate as well.

by:

Good: Reliable - your bike won't fall off. Cheap and tough! Will last. Easy on, easy off. Folds up nicely. Only negative is that it takes finger strength and willingness to suffer a bit to effectively operate the ratchet lock which holds down the bike.

by:

Used bike rack today for the first time and it was solid. Assembly was pretty easy. Fit the 2” hitch perfectly. Should last many years.

by:

The feature allowing you to open up your back hatch by rotating down the bikes is helpful. An improvement would be to also allow the hitch to rotate forward towards the vehicle when not in use so that it does not take up so much space and could be left on the vehicle more readily.

by:

The rack is compact when folded up and the tilt function is very handy when driving an SUV for access to the rear door. It's solid and rugged. And at less than $200 it's a real bargain. I would have given it five stars but for the fact that, if you want to lock it to a 2" hitch receiver you must buy a separate locking threaded hitch pin for $37.50. The provided hitch pin will secure the rack but the tip does not protrude far enough to place the provided safety clip on it. Not a problem if you have a 1 1/4" receiver. And if you do opt for a locking hitch pin be sure to order the Part Number: S64029. The other optional 2" hitch pin Item # S64027 not work on this rack!

Great! Easy to mount, use and remove when not needed.

by:

Easy to put together - robust construction - mounts securely to our car - easy to use / stow - easy to mount & remove bikes from the rack - good clearance both above the ground and from the rear of the car - tilts easy as promised to give access to the rear of my car - a surprise feature is the ability to lock our bikes onto the rack if needed when leaving them unattended.

by:

This review is on setup and initial quality assessment as I have not had the rack long enough to give a longevity review. I will however add an update to the review upon time in-service. Assembly was as easy as any I have ever seen. I have put together quite a few racks in my day to compare to. I have a Kuat for our RV and while Kuat is as top of the line as you get the assembly was a bit challenging with poor pictorial guides. The Swagman was simply easy to do with good illustrations. Taking my time was done in like 20 minutes and that was including time to get right tools. Fit/Finish of the product is on par with price point obviously. Not cheaply done by any means but not more for your money either. Now to the one thing I totally despise of this rack given I am reviewing on the basis of a cost conscious order as a quick transporter for my Subaru Crosstrek......the two padded and hooked top bar stabilzers simply slide on and in effect can easily slide back off. Why Swagman did not include a safety cap you attach to the vertical rail via a set screw so no one can simply walk off with these two needed parts puzzles me immensely. Like spend $2 more Swagman to have this much needed safety measure!!!!! So while I won't give this rack 5 stars nor 4.5, it deserves a 4.25 at best for this failure.

Great bike rack. Simplistic but works. No it doesnt have all the bells and whistles but in all reality, you dont need that. So still loving it and would buy again.

by:

I have used this rack for about a year now trailering my mountain bike at least 40 times. Love it! No problems accept for a torn strap. Highly recommend!

Easy assembly, easy adjustments, not real bulky, quick install and removal. Everything works as it should!

Still working great! My son has been using it lately and he loves it too.

by:

Far better quality than I was expecting for the price. Very sturdy, heavy duty. Takes a bit more assembly than I was expecting but the end result is an exceptionally good bike rack.

by:

Rating this as Average (but really I'm unable to rate this). I was able to put it together, then read that the weight limit is only for ONE bike - not for all bikes on the rack. As a result I have not put it on the car.

Thanks for sharing your feedback! Just to clarify, the 35-lb rating is for each bike position, not a combined weight limit for the entire rack. So if this is a 2-bike rack rated for 35 lbs per bike, it can carry two bikes weighing up to 35 lbs each. If your bike weighs closer to 70 lbs, or if you're carrying a heavier e-bike, you'd want to look at a rack specifically designed for that higher weight capacity. Out of curiosity, what kind of bike are you planning to carry? We'd be happy to help make sure you have the right rack for your setup.

by:

We had an unusual situation. This bike carrier seemed to be the best starting point.
We are pulling a sailplane trailer with an RV but wanted to bring a large E-bike with us but not fill the RV.
We adapted the provided receiver mount to clamp on the trailer tongue. It made the trip from north NJ to central SC fine.
You can see how it worked out, it even retained the tilt.

Hey Charlie. That's a pretty awesome set-up you got with your bike rack! Also, a sailplane?! That sounds so cool! Are there specific places that are best for gliding/flying?

So, its been a year. We did a north NJ to SC round trip last year just over 1500 miles round trip, North NJ to NewCastle VA, Mifflin, PA and Elmira NY. We are currently back in SC. So, a few thousand miles with a single Troxus Explorer about 85lbs and the rack is still fine. I will say, our mount and weight carried are outside the racks user manual, so the warranty may be void, but I have not needed it. One other thing we did, we put in a bolt and nut for when the arms are down, this prevents the base from spreading due to the extra weight moving around.

  • What Bike Rack will Allow Me to Get in the Hatch of My Prius, Hollywood Trailrider or Swagman TILT?
Hello Don, Great question, being able to get into the hatch of your Prius would be important to me as well. You will want to go with the Swagman XTC2 TILT # S64671 because it solves the exact concern you mentioned about getting stuck at the trailhead with the rear hatch blocked. Unlike the Hollywood Trail Rider, this rack tilts down even with the bikes loaded, so you can open the rear hatch on your Prius without unloading everything just to grab water or a bag. That makes a big difference...

Yes, the Swagman XTC2 TILT Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S64671 is a great economical rack to use on your 2021 Lexus RX 350 with a 2-inch hitch receiver. As far as installing and removing your hitch to your vehicle, all it requires is for you to slide the shank of the rack into the hitch receiver and place the hitch pin into the pinhole of the receiver. Good question, Richard! The Swagman XTC2 TILT Bike Rack for 2 Bikes - 1-1/4" and 2" Hitches - Frame Mount # S64671 is rated to 35 pounds per bike as the hardware and cradles are only rated for that.
