main

The Sport Rider SE2 platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 bikes on the rear of your vehicle. This versatile rack is easy to use, and it features locking frame hooks and adjustable wheel trays, so you can quickly load and unload your bikes. An anti-rattle system tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the tube.

Locking, Ratcheting Hooks

ratcheting hooks

The Sport Rider SE2 uses locking frame hooks to secure your bikes. The ratcheting, cushioned hooks easily adjust along the vertical mast and lock securely in place. The release buttons allow each hook to slide up the ratcheting arm for bike removal. The hooks function independently, which means you can position them to carry bikes of different heights.

Adjustable Wheel Hoops

wheel hoops

The wheel hoops accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60" by sliding along the horizontal arms. They are secured in place with easy-to-use hand knobs, and the Velcro-like hook-and-loop straps fasten the wheels to the hoops.

Hollywood Racks Trail Rider Adjustable Wheel Holders

If you want to carry a fat bike on the Sport Rider SE2, you can replace the rack's wheel hoops with fat bike hoops (sold separately).

Folding, Tilting Design

tilting

The rack tilts, with or without bikes loaded, for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. Simply remove the pivot pin, pull the bottom quick-release spring pin, and lower the rack.

folding

The rack also folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just pull the upper quick-release spring pin and lift.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle System

The rack installs in your hitch without the need for tools. Simply slide the shank into your receiver until the welded stop plate contacts the hitch. The stop plate saves you from getting on your hands and knees to align the pin holes while inserting the hitch pin. Once the pin is in place, attach the lock pod. Lastly, use the integrated anti-wobble handle on the front of the shank to tighten the rack inside your hitch receiver and prevent it from rattling.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

The Sport Rider comes with locks for both the rack and your bikes to deter theft. The lock cores in the frame hooks hold the bike down on the rack and prevent them from moving. Also, the lock pod attaches to the hitch pin to secure the rack to your vehicle. These locks are conveniently keyed alike. For extra protection, the 8' long security cable wraps through the bike frames, connects to the hitch pin, and is secured to the pin by the hitch lock.

Add-On Adapters

Sport Rider SE 2-Bike Add-on

The Sport Rider SE2 is expandable and adaptable. If you want to carry 4 bikes, a two-bike add-on accessory (sold separately) is available.

Sport Rider SE Cargo Carrier

If you want to carry both 2 bikes and extra gear, an add-on cargo basket (sold separately) is available.

Hollywood Racks Wheel Hoop Adapters

If you want to use the rack to transport a kid's bike with 16" or 18" wheels, wheel hoop adapters (sold separately) are available.

If you want to transport 1 recumbent delta trike or 1 recumbent tadpole-style trike with the Sport Rider SE2, you can use the HRTRK-ADP adapter (sold separately). Or if you want to transport 1 standard bike and either 1 recumbent delta trike, 1 recumbent tadpole-style trike, or 1 adult trike, then you can use the HRTRK-ADP-2 adapter (sold separately).

Received my bike rack in a few days and totally complete. Very high quality (and I am picky). Only issue I had, and indicated in a number of the other reviews, is the poor assembly instructions. I would recommend you start by putting the hitch to the car and go from there. It is not something you can assemble in your living room and then head to the car to attach it. All being said, great product. 798998

I use it for a semi recumberant electric bike, Day6. Totally adjustable for my bike and another bike. My biggest worry was whether I could get the heavy bike up on the rack, without a ramp concept. I am a tall 75 year old widow and I put one tire up and then the other so it is doable, but prefer assistance if available. Battery is removed for travel. I do need the hitch put on and taken off by my son in law so I keep it on the whole time I am traveling. Recommend 773440

I was surprised with how soon the rack arrived after I ordered it. Odelia was very helpful in placing my order and followed up with a couple of emails. The rack was packaged very nicely. Assembly was easy. My only nit was labeling of the front & back of the rack in the instructions was confusing. The back of the rack should be farthest from the vehicle and the front closest to the vehicle. Otherwise the assembly instructions were clear and assembly was smooth. I’m using this rack with a 41 pound e-bike. I’ve driven it around the neighborhood and I can’t wait until the COVID emergency is over to take a road trip with my bike using the rack. 782129

I have been very happy with the bike carrier. This type of carrier was important to me because it would keep the bike from hitting the ground as the car went through changes in gradient. The pricing adds a large benefit to the value of this purchase. The quality of the product manufacturing is also a large benefit to this rack. Years ago, I had a Yakima bike carrier where you had to remove the front wheel to engage the bike to the carrier. The bike was very sturdy on that rack. On this rack, the bike is looser. That was an adjustment for me. However, the bike is very sturdy in transport and doesn't move around as I go over bumps or around corners. My bike also has aero wheels. There is just enough Velcro to secure the bike for transport. Keep that in mind if you also have aero wheels on your bike. 772223

I did a lot of research looking for the right bike rack that would hold 2 e bikes securely. The bikes have fenders, so a lot of the other brands wouldn't work where the hook grabs the front tire. This rack is great. Well built, solid and easily holds our 2 e bikes. Great features on the rack as well, tilt and no wobble, along with the locks and cable. Instructions were good and an easy project to put the rack together. Rack was shipped in a good protective box and arrived on time. 495795

Received the hitch very quickly. Everything was in good condition. Easy to put together and adjust. I would have preferred that the latch that comes down over the bike frame was the type that use a key lock, but considering the price, this will work. Using the tilt feature, I am able to open the rear hatch of my Outback even with my 29'r Cannondale on the mount closest to the car. I used the rack on 30 miles of back country, rough roads. By the nature of the way racks are mounted, they wiggle around a bit. Glad I got the 2" model. I think the 1 1/4" with a sleeve to fit a 2" would end up fatigued if used on rough roads. 107714

We are very pleased with our choice of the Hollywood bike rack. It is very sturdy and well built. The bikes do not move while traveling. When the bikes are removed, the rack can be folded up out of the way while the vehicle is parked. Our truck is a 2012 Tacoma with a ARE truck cap. The cap can also be accessed with the rack and bikes in place. We would recommend this rack to others. 581776

Just purchased a Hollywood Sport Rider SE-2 From etrailer.com. Am quite pleased with the quality of the product , the easy assembly, and installation. Plan to use it to carry 2 bikes from home to wherever, did not want to carry in the bed of my pickup as did not want to damage bikes or truck bed. I am old guy and have no problem loading bikes by myself. And another plus is locking hitch and also locking cable for bikes. So easy, safe, and secure makes this product a great choice. Another great choice would be etrailor.com , The ease of navigating this site, ordering process helpful and caring staff is why I will order from this site again. Thanks etrailer.com 130476

Owned my Hollywood bike rack for a year now and hands down this is one solid unit.--has many adjustments for small and large bicycles .---The easy on and off clamps are failsafe.---The fold-up locking pins are a cinch while folding the rack into a smaller footprint.---- The included bike and hitch locks are a real plus and the built in hitch clamp removes 100% of rack sway. Overall a high quality rack for a real fair price.----Gordon Lehman 576997

Rack is great, the quality control is not. The rack is straightforwardly engineered- there is no exotic workmanship or hardware to be found, which is fine by me, since replacement parts should be easy to find/make. Heavy and strong with a higher weight capacity than most. Highly adjustable to different bike sizes. Folds up pretty compactly considering its size. Included locking hitch pin and cable is nice. Anti-wobble mechanism works very well and is super easy to use. ISSUES: tilt-down feature did not tilt bikes far enough away to be useful (on my '98 4Runner anyway). Directions could be better thought-out, illustrations were small and overly dark. QUALITY CONTROL ISSUES: 1. the anti-wobble handle was installed facing the wrong way. Had to be re-intalled in order to function. 2. The anti-wobble "U" shaped bracket inside the hitch was oriented the wrong way. Had to be removed and re-oriented. 3. One of the pins did not have a tether (all the others do, which prevents you from losing them.) The first 2 issues were easily fixed, and the 3rd I can figure out something, but come on, it's a $300 rack, inspect it already. Despite this, very happy with purchase. 143334

Comes with a hitch lock AND cable lock long enough to wrap around bikes and then to be fed through the designated hole in the base of the rack. Four keys are given that open both provided locks, so there is no worrying if it is the correct key when you pull them out of storage. I have a heavier enduro mountain bike and my rack/hitch holds it without shaking and rattling, but also holds road bikes just as well. And if I ever meet two other people who would like to tear it up on the trails with me on a regular basis, I know I can come back here and buy the attachment for an additional two more bikes. A year later and it's never been removed, is rust free, and working like it did on day 1. By going through etrailer.com and not the car dealer to buy the hitch, install that myself, then buy the rack in store and install that too, I saved hundreds! Their products are quality at a fraction of others' prices, with great installation videos that helped me get 'er done (I'm definitely not a mechanic). Couldn't recommend this rack/etrailer.com more. 556616

We had shopped many of the well known brands of Bike racks and was able to use etrailer to view videos on each one of the products. We found this very helpful to actually see how it fit on the car and also how well it did or did not function in use. We ended up choosing the Hollywood brand, a two bike model that has the ability to expand. It was important that it tipped and folded flat so we shopped for those qualities as well as durability. We live in Colorado, use the rack almost every weekend and have a variety of weather conditions. After 2 weeks we are very happy with our purchase. It is sturdy, fits my Jeep Grand Cherokee perfectly and is easy to fold and tilt. I am small in stature so being able to maneuver around the rack and load and unload the bikes was important for me. Great rack and met all our needs. Note to buyers, if you have a newer vehicle with the backup object detector, the buzzing when you back up can make you a little crazy. 369377

This is very well engineered. Lots of thought put into design. No wobble. We have an ebike & regular bike. We take the battery off the ebike when we transport the bikes. The rack folds up against the SUV when not in use. Very happy with this rack. 565795

Product was just as the etrailer rep presented when he recommended it. Arrived quickly, easy to assemble and load. We drove 1700 miles through 4 states (Ohio, W. Virginia, Virginia & N. Carolina) so we saw our fill of construction and rough roads. This includes interstate & local back roads in each state. The bikes are 2 cruisers old style. They never shifted or loosened. I did have to add foam on the ladies bike as the chain guard protruded enough to contact the brace. This is a bike design issue. The only scrape was the handle to tighten the hitch pin, try not to leave it hanging down. The large handle bars did limit access to the rear window, but the tilt function solved that. Pins got tight in the heat & ocean salt, light oil solved that. Very good product, service and guidance. I'll use this vendor again for other such need. 283556

This product met my expectations. It is extremely well engineered, high quality and very easy to assemble. I like the simple design and that it is very solid when attached to the car thanks to the 2" hitch. This was the one thing I was concerned most about but not any more it is a solid attachment. It is very easy to load bikes and lock down boys and girl frames no problem also like the way it folds up into a compact package which is easy to Cary and store. This will really make transporting our bikes from place to place a whole lot easier . If you are looking for a sturdy bike carrier this is the one to buy. Maybe a little pricey but once you get it installed and use it you will forget about what it cost. 186310

This bike rack is fantastic very good quality and exceeds my expectations. Only one slight flaw, the fabric tie downs for the wheels are poor quality, I had to call the company for 3 replacements which the company replaced very quickly for me at no cost, however the new straps could still be of better quality. Still a great product and Co. To deal with, I would buy another one if I had to.

Got this rack for transporting my e-bike. It holds it very securely. Have to remove the clamp adjusters so I can manhandle the beast onto the rack. Holds both my bikes perfectly. Have dealt with etrailer in the past and have always been pleased. Great service! 667953

installation was easy, it wasn't quick but it wasn't complicated and I took my time double checking everything. loading and unloading the bikes is also pretty easy my kid can do it. I took it on a short drive yesterday, it was our first time using it, it does move and shake a bit, I tried to adjust the anti-rattle hitch but the tightest position puts the handle down or pointing down to the floor which Im afraid it might hit or kill the clearance of the rack, I'll try to play around with it to keep it up right and nice and tight. Other than that this bike rake looks really good on a black car and it feels very solid. 820925

First I want to thank the folks at etrailer for getting my changed order implemented quickly. I changed from the HR1455Z-E (80 lbs per bike) to the HR1450Z (50 lbs per bike). It also arrived early which helped. The Hollywood rack is really heavy-duty and went together easily with the very good included instructions. It carries my Ebike and analog bike together very easily. My big complaint is the length of the rack from my 2019 RAV4 causes it to scrape heavily on my driveway and other driveways, even without the bikes loaded. I’m still pondering what to do about it. I’m using it with the Curt hitch I also bought from etrailer. 797101

It took a bit of time to install the bike rack but the instructions were straight forward to follow. It helped to have the required tools. The rack fits a standard two inch trailer hitch and is very heavy duty and strong. All the locks work with one key which is terrific. The only drawback with my Sienna is the bike handle bars prevent the tail gate from fully opening. Also the basic support piece that enters the hitch itself projects straight out and can scrape on a moderately steep incline such as a driveway. Not a big problem. I especially like the ratching hold down hooks and the Velcro tire tie downs. And of course with the bikes removed it folds up neatly against the back of the van. I looked at a lot of racks and I have one I replaced. This one is the best. 791498

Was a little concerned when I tried to pick up the shipping box and felt the substantial weight, but realized that to have a sturdy and stable rack, the materials have to be heavy. The assembly and adjustment process was easy and our bikes fit perfectly. The fold back feature allowed the hatchback to open fully with bikes attached. Took our Lexus RX out for a test drive over some bumpy roads and speed bumps and everything was rock steady. Excellent product! Very happy! Highly recommended! 787518

This bike rack is second to none especially in this price range. I MHO I think this item is superior to many other brands out there and I’m referring to the well known brands as well. I was impressed with the way it was packaged from the factory and by etrailer. The instructions were clear and it assembled easily. I took my time and probably completed it in under an hour. I didn’t think to take pics with the bikes on the rack but I wanted people with Jeep Wranglers to see how this looks. Notice that I also have a Yakima Back Swing on the Jeep as well. I’ve purchased things from etrailer in the past and can speak of the quality of the products they sell and of course the customer service. 717514

  • Fitting an RV With a Trailer Hitch Mounted Bike Rack
Generally speaking, RV rated racks are built to withstand the increased travel that the rack experiences when riding behind the RV. The distance from the axle to the hitch receiver is much greater than it is behind a car, causing far more bouncing and swaying when the rack is in use. Additionally, the suspension on most RV's is normally not enough to significantly reduce this travel, causing manufacturers to make racks that are significantly heftier than their passenger vehicle counterparts....

Great question. The reason you cannot attach a bike rack to the shank of a separate cargo basket is that they are not designed to work together. Adding another accessory to your cargo carrier reduces the tongue weight (TW) capacity of your hitch by half. The added length of the bike rack on the end of the carrier will allow greater leverage to be applied to the hitch tube, which causes the loss of capacity. Combination racks like the Hollywood Racks SE2 Bike Rack with Cargo Carrier,...

  • Hitch Bike Rack Recommendation for Carrying Trike and Bike at Same Time
For a bike rack that can carry a trike and a bike at the same time we have the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Trike Carrier part # HR1450Z-E-TRKADP3. It really is the only option we have but it would work really well.

  • Compatibility of Hollywood Racks # HR1450Z with ElliptiGO Bike
I did some research, and found that ElliptiGo offers a modified version of the Hollywood Racks # HR1450R. The rack features a fork mount at the front wheel hoop that will accommodate the bike once the front wheel is removed. We do not offer the rack, but you could purchase a # HR1450R and add one # HR915 for each ElliptiGo bike you wish to carry, and you'd have the same rack (see photo). The # HR1450Z would probably not work, as the HR1450Z-R model is specifically designed for wider...

  • Comparing the Hollywood Racks SE2 and the Swagman XTC-2 Bike Carriers
I would not be concerned about the Hollywood Racks Precision-clamping system failing. The hooks use a large spring to compress the hooks to the upright mast and provide a grip that is just as strong as the ratcheting hooks of the Swagman XTC-2 bike rack,# S64670. The Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack, # HR1450Z, that you referenced and the Swagman XTC-2 and comparable bike racks with a slight edge going to the SE2. The main difference is the folding ability of the SE2 and the...

  • Trike Bike Rack Recommendation for 2018 Winnebago Fuse Class B Motorhome
Assuming your 2018 Winnebago Fuse is equipped a 2 inch hitch receiver, I recommend the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z along with the trike adapter # HRTRK-ADP-3. This motorhome approved rack (with the adapter) can accommodate 1 standard bike and 1 delta, tadpole, or adult trike, or 2 standard recumbent bicycles with a track width of up to 36 inches, so in that regard it will work well with your trike with a 25-1/2 track width. You'll also need to take into consideration...

  • Will Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Bike Rack Work with a 2-1/2 Inch Hitch with Reducer Sleeve
Yes, you can use the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-Bike Platform Rack - 2" Hitches - Frame Mount Item # HR1450Z with a 2-1/2 to 2 inch reducer sleeve. Like you said the included locking hitch pin will not be long enough for a 2-1/2 inch hitch but you can use Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock - Extra Long - Flush Design for 2-1/2" Trailer Hitches Item # e98881 in its place. This lock has a usable span of 3-5/8 inches.

  • Bike Rack Recommendation for Biria Easy Boarding Bikes
I checked out pictures of Biria Easy Boarding bikes and they basically do not have any type of crosstube at all. So what you'd need to use is a bike frame adapter bar part # UB01 to provide the crosstube for the Hollywood Racks Bike Rack # HR1450Z. Later you will be able to add the carrier adapter pat # HR1485 as well.

  • Fit of Hollywood Racks # HR1450Z on 2012 Subaru Outback
When we installed the Hidden Hitch # 87568 on a 2012 Outback Wagon, we found that the distance from the hitch pin hole to the furthest rearward edge of the back bumper is about 5-3/4 inches. When installed in that receiver on your vehicle, the closest portion of the rack would be 8-1/2 inches rearward of the hitch pin hole, which means that you will indeed have plenty of clearance for the rack to fold once it is installed. Once the bikes are placed on the rack, the closest portion...

  • Can the Standard Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 Carry a 55-60 lb Bike if 2nd Bike is Lightweight
I do see where you are coming from, but the wheel hoops for the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z have only been rated for up to a 50 lb bike. So it has less to do with overall weight as it does with the individual components for carrying each bike. I spoke with my contact at Hollywood Racks and he confirmed that if your bike is over the 50 lb weight rating then you would need to use a rack that is rated for heavier individual bikes like the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 #...

  • Will Hollywood Racks SE2 Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack Clear the Spare Tire on a 2010 Toyota RAV4
We have not performed a test fit yet of the Hollywood Racks SE2, # HR1450Z, on a 2010 Toyota RAV4 so to determine fit there are some important measurements to look at. You will want to measure from the center of the hitch pin hole straight back to the distance required to clear the spare tire. On the bike rack, the distance measures 12 inches from the center of the hitch pin hole to the nearest wheel loop. The bike pedals and handle bars will probably stick out closer to the vehicle...

  • Are Hollywood Racks Platform Bike Racks the Most Stable Bike Racks Available?
The Hollywood Racks part # HR1450Z is incredibly stable. While it may not look as sleek as some of the more expensive racks it actually performs better in terms of stability than nearly all of them. Actually the rack doesn't move at all so there's basically no way any other bike rack could beat it... The test course video for this rack is accurate to how stable this rack is. There lower end # HR200Z while not as stable as the # HR1450Z is the best choice for the economically priced...

When the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 2-Bike Platform Rack, part # HR1450Z, is installed the bike wheel hoops are actually elevated. The bike rack has a 7-inch rise in the shank. I have attached a link to the installation video for this bike rack on a 2011 CX-7 you can check out. You can see the hitch receiver is level with the exhaust on the vehicle. With a 7-inch rise in the shank you will have no problem with the exhaust heat.
