RockyMounts 11415 MonoRail 2 Bike Rack Loaded

The RockyMounts MonoRail platform-style rack lets you easily carry 2 bikes using your 2" hitch. Ratcheting arms and adjustable wheel straps secure your bikes without contacting the frame. A front-mounted release lever allows you to tilt the rack down and gain access to your vehicle's rear cargo area, or it can fold the rack up for a simple storage solution. The included hitch lock secures the rack to your vehicle, and an integrated cable lock secures your bikes to the rack.

Wheel-Mount Design for Easy Bike Loading

RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Ratcheting Arms

The rack allows you to quickly and easily load and carry 2 bikes on the back of your vehicle. The ratcheting arms securely hold your bikes by the front wheels so there's no frame contact. Simply push the button on the hook and slide it firmly into place over the front wheel. The wheel hooks are coated for grip and work with tire diameters up to 29".

Pivoting Rear Wheel Cradles with Ratcheting Wheel Straps

RockyMounts 11415 MonoRail 2 Bike Rack Wheel Straps

The pivoting rear-wheel cradle allows the rack to accommodate bikes with wheel bases up to 48" long. The cradles include ratcheting, rubber straps to hold your bike's rear wheels securely in place on the tray.

RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Rack with Fat Bike Straps

The MonoRail also comes with a wheel strap extensions that attach to the standard ratcheting straps to increase the usable length and secure wider tires. This allows the cradles to hold fat bike tires up to 5" wide.

Adjustable Bike Trays

RockyMounts MonoRail Adjustable Bike Trays

The front and back trays adjust 3" side-to-side to ensure you have enough space when loading your bikes. Just remove the bolts where the tray attaches to the bottom of the rack, slide the trays left or right to achieve the desired spacing, and then reinstall the bolts. This will prevent your bikes' handlebars from becoming tangled, and it eliminates the fear of bike-to-bike contact during transport.

Front-Mounted Release Lever for Easy Tilting

RockyMounts 11415 MonoRail 2 Bike Rack Tilt Access

The front-mounted release lever allows you to easily tilt the MonoRail. The rack tilts down with or without your bikes loaded for convenient access to your vehicle's rear cargo area

RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Rack Folded Storage

The lever also lets you fold the rack up for storage when you're not transporting the bikes. This is great for parking in places where space is limited such as a parking garage.

Easy Installation with Threaded Hitch Pin

RockyMounts MonoRail Hitch Mount Bike Rack

The MonoRail installs quickly and easily with a threaded, anti-rattle hitch pin. Simply slide the shank into your 2" hitch receiver, insert the threaded hitch pin, and tighten it down with the included tool. This will reduce noise and movement while the rack is installed.

Complete Security

RockyMount MonoRail Built-In Cable Lock

The rack comes with a hitch lock and a cable lock to deter theft of both the rack and your bikes. The cable lock wraps around your bikes' frames and secures to the rack with the included lock core.

RockyMounts MonoRail Hitch Lock

The hitch lock simply snaps onto the hitch pin and locks in place. The cable and hitch lock are keyed alike, so you'll only need 1 key for both locks.

Optional 1-Bike Add-On

RockyMounts MonoRail Add-On 1-Bike Extension

There is an optional 1-bike add-on available (sold separately) for the RockyMount MonoRail that will allow you to convert it from a 2 bike carrier to a 3-bike carrier. This is great for occasions when an extra friend wants to tag along.

I was looking for a good two-bike platform rack for my SUV. I've used a couple other racks . . . one was an economy brand and the other an expensive Thule brand. But after spending a fair amount of time viewing etrailer's videos and descriptions I decided on the Rocky Mount Monorail. I received it yesterday. Assembly was quick and easy. The quality of the parts was excellent. The size, weight and profile fit the Goldilocks standard, of not being too big, or too small. It was just right! The accessible Blue pull lever makes loading and adjusting very convenient. Haven't yet traveled very far with the rack yet but based on overall design and quality I'm expecting it to be 'better than expected' 746428

The bike rack arrived in just three days..Instructions for assembly were very easy and the tools to put it together were included. It rides on the back of the MDC superbly, looks great, and is very easy to operate. Like another customer, I would have like the lock to be a bit more substantial, but it's functional. Truly pleased with the overall look, feel, and functionality. I would recommend it to anyone with one of two bikes to transport and I will probably get the add-on for the additional bike just in case. 702831

This rack rocks! Has been used on 3 different vehicles, one which went nearly 5000 miles with 2 bikes on the whole time. Zero problems so far. Have had 2 29” mtb bikes on it; have had road bikes on it; and have had 20” and 24” kid bikes. All fit great. Have purchased add on kit for a third bike but haven’t used it yet. 678593

First, etrailer is a fantastic retailer. Their videos are very informative and absolutely influenced my decision on both product and retailer. Super-fast shipping was a nice bonus. On to the carrier. I read many reviews and watched dozens of videos to help me. Here's what I came up with: 1: Value - this was by-far, the best bang for the buck. Not only was this the best price on this particular carrier, it is the best deal on a premium-quality unit with great versatility and wonderful features typically reserved for units hundreds of dollars more expensive. 2: Super solid. The locking anti-locking hitch pin eliminates side-to-side sway entirely. The locking arms and wheel straps do a fantastic job in keeping the bikes from wobbling. One note:. Thinner tires will be allowed an inch or so of travel due to the width of the locking arms and front wheel chock. Nothing that caused concern, though. 3: Easy assembly (though the paper instructions never mention the assembly of the wheel straps on the rear tray) 4: Tilt mechanism is the most convenient of any tray-type carrier. It worked great and the release if located right in hands reach. 5: fold-up is very effective and easy. Also comes in handy for storage in the garage. 6: expandable to accommodate 3 bikes. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of this unit and especially at this sale price. My wife has thanked me a dozen times already for replacing our old hanger-style carrier. This configuration makes it so much easier for her to mount her bike so she can ride with or without me. 454349

First, a review of: etrailer.com: I chose to order my RockyMounts Bike Rack from etrailers.com because of their excellent, VERY detailed videos which show installing and using the rack. The videos also include an outside camera view of the rack as the vehicle drives around a test course which simulates various driving situations. Side to side maneuvers, speed bumps, etc. Once I made the purchase, etrailer.com was very prompt in sending me a confirmation of my order, and letting me know when the order shipped. They also followed up with me once the rack was delivered. I couldn't be more happy with etrailer.com and will always look to them first should I ever need to purchase any other type of car racks. And now, a review of the RockyMounts bike rack: I am also VERY happy with the RockyMounts Monorail 2 Bike Platform Rack. The bikes are extremely easy to load and once loaded are rock-solid. There was minimal (if any) movement of the bikes on the rack as I traveled. I have a Chrysler Pacifica minivan and getting into the back of the van *without* having to take the bikes off the rack was a critical feature. The RockyMounts rack makes this easy by tilting the platform down using the blue handle under the platform. The platform release is at the front of the platform, as you face it, so there are *no* gymnastics required to release the the platform. Just bend over, pull the lever towards you, tilt the bikes down, and that's it. I'm into the back of my minivan in under 15 seconds! I've owned three other style bike racks over the years – trunk mount, roof mount, and trailer hitch where the bikes hang down off a bar. The RockyMounts Platform Rack is definitely the easiest to load, and definitely the most stable rack of all these. I couldn't be happier with the rack. 721950

Exceptionally solid hitch mount / tray platform type bicycle carrier. I The instructions were very clear and complete - with one exception of the the tray straps and strap extenders (not shown/mentioned). Some basic assembly was required - again the directions were very clear and everything need was supplied in the package. I took my time and it only took 15 minutes. The bike rack is outstanding in design, quality of materials, construction and function. It's very solid in all 3 positions (carrying bikes, laid 'down' to open the tailgate, and 'stowed' in the up/close position when not carrying bikes. I've had bike racks from other 'big name' vendors - this Rocky Mounts rack is much better, and less expensive. 522596

Rack and hitch (Draw-Tite Max-Frame Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" - 75560 - bought separately) came in perfect condition. Hitch was a little difficult to install but this had more to do with my car being 12 years old. Pro tip: lube the muffler hangers with WD40 and get some ramps to give you room under car to work. Quality is excellent. The rack itself is awesome. I fit my sons 24" MTB and my medium full suspension on there in under 60 seconds. I did have to adjust the tray to avoid some interference but that only took a minute or two. The rack is very solid and well built. Little to no wobble on the way to the trails which included a bumpy access road. Excellent value for the $ compared to racks with similar features. 572585

Well built, solid bike rack. Like the additional strap extensions for fat bikes. Holds bike well. Only minor issue was that instructions did not reference the rear wheel straps, but easy to figure out. I like that the rack tilt allows access to the rear hatch of my Subaru Forester. 475321

working out great. Had issue with partial melt of one of the shepards hook melting due to proximity to my car exhaust. Able to get new part from manufacturer, repositioned hook, and all has been well since

We've had our bike rack a year now and find it very convenient to use and strong. The one problem I have is that when I have both bikes on and tilt it down to get into the trunk of our Subaru Outback, I can't lift it back up if it's in the locked position. I must have my husband do that. Having to ask him makes me feel like a whimp and in general, I'm pretty strong. I still gave it a 5 star because it's easy to load both bikes and it folds down nicely so it doesn't protrude out the back when no bikes are on it. 635062

I just received this bike carrier today. Amazingly fast delivery. Simple assembly. I loaded bikes without a problem. The tilt works easily and allows ample access to the interior of my 2015 Grand Cherokee. Took a test drive and didn't notice any rattling or other unusual sounds. The first impression is all positive. Thanks eTrailer for your video reviews which helped greatly in making my purchase decision . 564674

I ordered a tilting Rocky Mount bike rack from etrailer.com. After receiving notification of the ship date of the bike rack, I realized that the product wasn’t going to arrive until after a bike trip I had planned, I spoke to Jenny, a representative from etrailer.com. She worked with me in selecting another model that would be available and arrive in time for my trip. I am impressed by the professionalism and service excellence I received from my phone experience at etrailer.com. 825012

Very nice rack for the money, comparable to kuat/yakimas costing $200+ more. Thought i was going to regret not getting a unit with quick adjustable sliding trays but I've not needed them once after a year of throwing different sized bikes. Fits everything from the skinny tires on the road bike (even has little slots for them) to the 3" big meat on the mtb. Only negative would be the less than elegant appearance of the handle but it's easily forgotten about. Function > form but it still looks great a year later after being exposed to harsh AZ sun. High quality finish. Would definitely make the same purchase again. And go with the 2" if you are on the fence, it's way more stable than the 1 1/4" I've seen that get pretty wobbly with two bikes on them. 794097

Assembly is easy and intuitive. The rack folds up while clearing my RAV4's spare tire cover. The functionality is great and it accommodates my fat bike, road bike or cyclocross bike. It can easily fit a 20" kid's bike. Great rack! 770834

The RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack part # RKY10004 will work just fine with a front mount hitch on a 2018 Ford F-150, the Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver part # C31083 is a no-drill option and what I recommend. The RockyMounts MonoRail 2 has a 60 lb weight capacity so as long as the bikes are under this there won't be an issue.

I have a great RockyMounts platform bike rack that will fit your 2019 Infiniti QX50 and allow full cargo area access with bikes loaded but most likely the # RKY10004 would not give you full access. So instead I recommend the version of this rack that has the swing out function to give you complete access with bikes loaded. In order to hold the bikes securely, the retaining hooks need to directly contact the tire right in front of the forks, which isn't possible with a fender-equipped bike. The RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack part # RKY10004 is a platform style bike rack that holds the bikes by the wheels and the Thule Helium Aero 2 Bike Rack part TH9042 is a hanging style rack that holds the bikes by the frame. A platform rack will be easier to load/unload the bikes as you don't have to lift them up as high. Another very important distinction to may when comparing a platform and hanging style bike rack is the use of an adapter bar. If you have an alternative...

  • Can 2018 Toyota Tacoma Tailgate Fold Down with RockyMounts MonoRail Installed
It is possible that the tailgate on your 2018 Toyota Tacoma will make contact with the RockyMounts MonoRail bike rack # RKY10004 even when unloaded and folded/tilted down. The wheel cradles stick up from the base rail by a few inches which is why contact is possible. What I recommend is to use the RockyMounts BackStage # RKY10002. The BackStage can swing off to the side of the vehicle, with or without bikes loaded, so you have complete access to the rear of the truck. No problem with...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver to Fit a 2014 Subaru Outback Wagon
I'm not exactly sure what you mean by "direct fit" because all three of the Class III trailer hitch receivers we carry for your 2014 Subaru Outback are custom made and designed for your vehicle. The hitch that has the most factory-like look is the Ecohitch, part # 306-X7162. Once installed all you see is the open receiver tube under the rear bumper of your Subaru. Take a look at the picture I attached. The downside to this hitch is the install requries the bumper to be temporarily...

  • Comparing Thule T2 Pro XTB and Swagman Escapee Platform Bike Racks for Use on a Motorhome
Pretty recently bike manufacturers have been clarifying if they rate their racks to be carried on the back of a motorhome or trailer. Some have even changed their standards and others have come out with new racks that are rated for more usage with extra features. That's why you're finding contradictory information that makes it confusing. One big change is that a lot of racks are rated to be used on a motorhome but not a trailer of any kind. Beforehand those two categories were combined...

  • RockyMounts Platform Bike Rack that can Be Used at the Rear of a Motorhome
Since you are wanting to install a bike rack at the rear of your motorhome you should note that the RockyMounts WestSlope # RKY10222 is not rated for use at the rear of a motorhome due to how rough of a ride quality is back there. RockyMounts does have the MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10004 which is really similar that is rated for use at the rear of a motorhome. This rack has a distance of 11 inches from the center of it's hitch pin hole to the nearest wheel tray which is about...

  • Recommended Bike Rack for a 2019 Honda CR-V
The options to carry bikes on your 2019 Honda CR-V are the roof (which you said you don't want), a trailer hitch (which you don't currently have), or on the trunk. The trunk mount appears to be your obvious option. Putting a trunk mount rack onto SUVs with a rear hatch can sometimes be tricky; however, the Hollywood Racks Over-the-Top, part # HRF2, is the clear solution. It has a high-rise frame which reaches over the top of the hach and the spoiler. A lot of racks either don't sit...

  • Lock Recommendation for Additional Security with the RockyMounts MonoRail Bike Rack
The best lock recommendation we'll be able to make for your RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack # RKY10004 is going to be using the lock that comes with the rack plus a cable lock like the # e98891 which you can route through the safety chain loops of the hitch and through the wheels of the bike. This will give you an added layer of theft protection for the rack plus your bikes. The hitch pin lock you mentioned would not work with the hitch pin of the RockyMounts bike rack.

  • Platform Bike Rack for 2 Bikes and a 2012 Toyota RAV4
For your needs the Saris Freedom # SA4412B is going to be the best option. I think you will really like this rack. First, it is very light weight at just 22-1/2 pounds. That makes it easy to install/remove from the trailer hitch. It can fit 1-1/4 inch (Class II) and 2 inch trailer hitches. It can be locked but you would need to add locking hitch pin # SA3022, sold separately. You will not need an adapter bar for the woman's bike frame. It measures 12 inches from the center of the hitch...

  • Recommended Trailer Hitch Receiver and Electric Bike Carrier for 2017 Subaru Outback
For your 2017 Subaru Outback hatch back I recommend the Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2" # C13206. Then for your Pedego City Commuter electric bike I recommend using the RockyMounts MonoRail Solo # RKY10007 if you want a single bike rack, or part # RKY10004 for a two bike rack.

  • Hitch Mount Bike Rack to Carry 2 Heavy Bikes on a Motorhome
A motorcycle carrier probably isn't your best option because the chances of it tilting is less and also most motorcycle carriers are not rated to be used on the back of a motorhome. There's more stress placed on a carrier that used on a motorhome because of the distance between the carrier and the rear axle. You said your bikes are two different sizes but didn't mention what size they are. The rack you looked at, the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE2 # HR1450Z-E, can handle up to 80...

  • Can the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 Bike Rack Carry a Bike with a 48 Wheelbase
Since the max wheelbase of the Kuat Sherpa 2.0 # SH22B is 47" your bike with a 48" wheelbase won't fit but I do have a different recommendation for you. The Kuat NV 2.0 Base # BA22B is the next step up to the Sherpa 2.0 in regards to Kuat bike racks and it is compatible with your 48" wheelbase. The NV 2.0 Base also comes with bike and rack locks, is a wheel mount platform rack, and has the tilting/folding functions along with the anti-rattle knob at the front of the base assembly. The...

  • Hitch and Bike Rack Recommendation for 2015 Subaru WRX
The 2-inch Class III EcoHitch # 306-X7257 is a great choice for using a hitch bike rack like the Kuat Transfer or the Rocky Mounts Monorail 2. As long as your WRX has the center knock out panel in the lower rear fascia (shown in the linked photo) this hitch will be a perfect fit and the hitch's 350-lb tongue weight rating means it has plenty of capacity for the combined weight of a hitch rack and the two bikes loaded on it. Installation instructions are linked for your reference and these...

  • Can the Kuat Transfer 2 Be Used On a Class C Motorhome
I do have an option for you but the Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Platform Rack part # TS02G is not rated for use on a motorhome (Class A or Class C) nor are any of the Kuat bike racks. Instead, I recommend the RockyMounts MonoRail 2 Bike Platform Rack part # RKY10004 which is rated for this use and it is also lightweight at only 38 lbs (Kuat Transfer 37 lbs). The MonoRail unlike the Transfer can be used with a much heaver bike as it has a 60 lb per bike weight capacity (Kuat Transfer 40 lbs) and...
