sport rider SE

The Sport Rider SE platform-style hitch bike rack makes it simple to carry 2 electric bikes on the rear of your vehicle. It features locking frame hooks and heavy-duty wheel holders with welded gussets to reinforce the rack so it can handle the extra weight. An anti-rattle system tightens the rack's shank to your hitch receiver to prevent it from rattling around inside the tube.

Locking, Ratcheting Hooks

ratcheting hooks

The Sport Rider SE uses locking frame hooks to secure your bikes. The ratcheting, cushioned hooks easily adjust along the vertical mast and lock securely in place. The release buttons allow each hook to slide up the ratcheting arm for bike removal. The hooks function independently, which means you can position them to carry bikes of different heights.

Adjustable Wheel Hoops

wheel hoops

The wheel hoops accommodate bicycles with wheelbases up to 60" by sliding along the horizontal arms. They secure in place with easy-to-use hand knobs, and ratchet straps fasten the wheels to the hoops. These universal wheel hoops will fit standard and fat tires up to 5" wide.

Folding, Tilting Design

tilting

The rack tilts, with or without bikes loaded, for easy access to your vehicle's rear cargo area. Simply remove the pivot pin, pull the bottom quick-release spring pin, and lower the rack.

folding

The rack also folds up against the back of your vehicle when it's not in use. To raise the rack, just pull the upper quick-release spring pin and lift.

Tool-Free Installation with Anti-Rattle System

The rack installs in your hitch without the need for tools. Use the integrated anti-wobble handle on the front of the shank to tighten the rack inside your hitch receiver and prevent it from rattling.

hitch tightener

It also comes with a hitch tightener to help reduce vertical wobble by pressing the shank against the receiver. It attaches to the top or bottom of the flange on your receiver using a U-bolt and clamp bar.

A removable adapter sleeve is included so the rack can be converted for use with 1-1/4" hitch receivers. The sleeve attaches to the shank with a single screw and can be installed or removed quickly.

Complete Security for Bikes and Rack

The lock cores in the frame hooks hold the bike down on the rack and prevent them from moving. Also, the lock pod attaches to the hitch pin to secure the rack to your vehicle. These locks are conveniently keyed alike. For extra protection, the 8' long security cable wraps through the bike frames, connects to the hitch pin, and is secured to the pin by the hitch lock.

I'm a senior e-biker who wishes to roll back the years, but that isn't possible. I drive a 2020 Chevy Equinox and have two electric bikes, which I had carried on a small rack. I saw the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes and resisted no longer. A few days later, my package was delivered. That night, I read and re-read the assembly instructions. It went together well, with no glitches. The hitch is super sturdy. No wiggle room at all. Once together, I loaded up my heaviest bike, mindful of using one of those metal bars for support since it's a low-step bike. (Remember, I'm a senior. Legs don't swing high like they once did.) Photos accompany them to show how she will ride. This will allow me to explore farther and go places I could not have before I had this rack. I like the ability to flatten it when not in use. This will also allow me to haul my granddaughter's bike together here in South Jersey or, as in "Toy Story," "To infinity and beyond."

How can it be a year? Time flies, and Ive had ample time to transport my bikes on this amazing rack. Once secured, the bikes travel without a wiggle. Since the rack is attached to the frame thanks to a family member who has a garage the rack is rock-solid. I highly recommend one of these to anyone with an electric bike, since they are heavier and need more support than a standard bike.

@NikonA Thanks for sharing, Nikon. The Hollywood racks are definitely solid, and we recommend them quite often for heavier E-bikes. I am glad to hear you are happy with your purchase. May it serve you well for years to come!

After a rocky start, all is good today! Bike rack arrived quickly, and the etrailer shipping carton was in perfect condition but the Hollywood Rack carton was torn up and re-taped. Think I had been blessed with a customer-return, and there were parts missing. I made an inquiry to customer service, and had a call back within an hour (thank you Trevor!), and had the replacement parts from Hollywood in my hands by the 4th day.Thank you for the prompt attention, and quick turn-around!

by:

Received the bike rack today! Very nice & heavy duty. Need to finish assembling it yet so anxious to use. I have a friend that has a Hollywood Rack too, love them! Great service here and fast shipping! Would recommend for all electric bike owners!

Great rack for my two Lectric bikes. Easy and very sturdy! Would recommend this for sure!

by:

This Hollywood Rack is excellent! Thank you etrailer! The delivery was on time. And everything was nicely in the box. The directions are good but I watch the Hollywood Video on [online] and it was great. I am 62 and put this rack completely together myself. So proud. The rack is solid and holds my Rad Rover Step Through 1 perfectly. Now I can hit the trails and not just my neighborhood.

by:

Very good rack. Sturdy for my 80 lb e-bike, low profile when folded up it does not block my tail lights, no rust after a year mounted on my car.

by:

It's a bit of a puzzle getting two e-bikes onto this rack. But we've gotten used to positioning the pedal crank arm appropriately to raise and lower the hold down. Itson the rearof our 41' RV and has been great.

by:

Great rack. Easy to assemble, easy to put bike on/off, keeps bike secure. Love the way it folds up when not in use. Quality product.

by:

This is a heavy duty rack. I think it's great. Really well packaged. Took a while just to get all the parts out and ready for assembly - but I appreciate the way it was packaged. It's eight degrees out tonight and snowing, but I need this for transporting bikes to FL in two weeks. So I couldn't assemble as instructed cause I wasn't going to do this at my hitch. Instructions were OK, but a little challenging to follow, but got through it. My Advice: Don't tighten anything up til the end. I probably did the whole assembly, on the floor in about 1/2 hour. That was after spending a fair amount of time just reading through the instructions which I found a little challenging - there's a lot of detail there. Heck of a good rack for fat tire bikes.

by:

I would have given a 5 star but it was missing the stop block on the hitch part. Now I have to get down and line up the hole for the pin. Everything else was good and carries our bikes safely.

Rack works fine after I put my own stop block on it. The other part was sent without the stop block attached also. Have had no problems carrying two e bikes. Rad 5s.

@Jim What's the stop block you're speaking of?

by:

Fast delivery. Great assembly video snd support online info.
Using it as a single eBike rack with support straps due to car tongue weight limits.

by:

Awesome bike rack! At first I thought it was a bit heavy but once it was built and, on the car, I found it solid and the right rack for my 65 lb Rad Power Bike. The assembly went smoothly and took about an hour. I'm using a 1 1/4 in Class II hitch and all fit tight and solid (no wobble). I'm not sure but everything including the bolts and nuts looked powder coated. Maybe not but I don't think this rack will rust. Its very easy to mount my bike. I simply lift the rear wheel and set it in then lift the front wheel and set it. I'm not lifting a 65 lb e-bike. The car is a 2018 VW Passat. To me, its worth every penny.

by:

This rack holds my 70lb eBike which is what I wanted. It is somewhat bulky to put the rack on and off as it's heavy and requires a wrench to put on properly. What bugs me is that I've seen a very similar bike rack for sale at less than half the price. This is a very expensive rack and I probably paid too much for it.

by:

Only rack available that could handle 2 70 pound ebikes. Assembly was pretty easy, maybe 90 minuets.
Rack is big and strong, all steel construction. Bikes are very secure when I’m driving. Loading the bikes onto the rack is challenging. Lifting and positioning a heavy bike can be hard. Not for the feint of heart but everything about ebikes is more cumbersome. Linda at etrailer was great, helpful and took her time to make sure that I got the right product. Would definitely shop there again.

1 year later the rack is working out very well. Still carrying those heavy bikes without incident. Bike are super secure, even at high speed on long trips. Don’t have to remove the rack in order to open the rear hatch on my Murano. Sometimes the tire trays are a little balky about sliding back and forth, but not a big problem. Originall thought $500 was a lot for an ebike rack. Now I think it’s a deal. Some are up to $1300. Anyway, still using it several times a week, and am still impressed with it.

by:

I purchased this rack after testing out my friend's rack on my car. I liked the rack, especially the no-wabble hitch tightener. I paid extra to get the only 2-inch hitch available from etrailer for my Prius V. Then I ordered the this rack from etrailer. It took several weeks for it to arrive. Now the design of the rack has changed, allowing for both a 1-1/4 or a 2-inch hitch receiver. Gone is the no-wobble tightener that I really liked. Instead there is a u-bracket that must be installed with a wrench every time the rack is installed or removed. There is not enough clearance between my bumper and the hitch receiver, so I have to install it inverted. Now I need to keep a wrench with me for the four nuts and washers. The previous tightening system was thoughtful and enegantly incorporated into the rack. This new method is clumsy, looks bad, and is a hassle. Otherwise this is a good but heavy rack that does a good job for our two Rad Powerbikes.

I apologize for the changes in the bike racks, or perhaps your friends rack is under a different name now. etrailer.com loves to help people find their perfect rack to meet their needs. If you are ever in the market again for a rack, I think you would personally love this one: Item # Y02443.

by:

I bought this rack because I have 2 heavy ebikes. It worked fine. My most extensive trip was Wisconsin to California. Rack did good. I stopped on way home at my daughters in Denver and stupidly left our bikes on the rack. Locked in 2 ways right outside her house on Cook St. Nice neighborhood. This Hollywood rack locks the hook-on bike rack over the top tube. It also comes with a cable lock. Both were being used on our bike. The 2nd. night I was there someone defeated the locks and stole my bike. Not my wife's. Happened that mine was more expensive, but also locked on outside not inside of rack. Oh well live and learn. When I got back to Wisconsin a nut that holds on the wheel carrier had fallen off. I contacted the company about that, and they sent me a new one. The part I liked best about the rack is that carrying 2 bikes they do not touch each other so no scratches. I will use it again, but I have finally learned my lesson about getting ripped off.

Disappointed the Manufacturer failed to advertise "Assembly Required". The "Unfold" portion works after you put it together! However, etrailer cu a timer service made it right. Could have brought tool had I'd known! Apparently this is going to be corrected...

For most of the platform bike racks that we carry they will need to be assembled. Once assembled the Hollywood Rack bike racks are solid, dependable racks. There is a rack that we offer that is mostly assembled however it is pricier. It is part # TH903202 if you want to take a look at it.

by:

good product but what really impressed me was the professional service that I received from etrailer. I have ordered products from them twice and both times was able to speak to a person and not a bot about my order. They have my trust and I will shop with them again. I wish they sold a wider variety of products. Etrailer has been my best online shipping experience. Miles ahead of any other online retailer!

by:

Eli was very helpful efficient and very patient with me. How do use Hollywood Racks over and over again if everyone was like her

by:

Ordered this bike rack to carry two 60 lb ebikes. Since the bikes are step through I also ordered center bars to clamp onto. The bike rack is very sturdy and even with the 1 1/4" receiver it barely wobbles. Assembly was easy and instructions are clear. I haven't actually loaded the bikes yet but I don't predict any problems.

by:

Excellent bike rack and works as intended. Jessica in Customer Service is awesome! She went above and beyond to assist me.

by:

I’m gunna still give great ratings cause their service is excellent but the package from the vender was missing a critical part… But that’s not etrailer’s fault and they got me missing part…

by:

We used the rack yesterday for the first time and it worked perfectly. There was a small problem when I first received my rack. After a few chats, it was handled with ease. Highly recommend E Trailer.

by:

The rack is sturdy enough to let me take 2 electric bikes on trips. I have not used it so I really cannot tell you much more. Assembly was ok as long as you read the directions from front to back first.

by:

Works fine. Retaining hooks don't exactly secure my brand of bikes, but I'm able to make it work.

by:

This is a well made e bike rack that I am sure will be happy with! A couple of things to note though. First my truck has a 2" receiver and my trailer is smaller so changes needed as I go back and forth. Also the U bracket needs taken off as well. just some small gripes that prevent me from giving another star.

  • Can Thule Passage Trunk Mount Bike Rack be Used to Carry 86 lb E-Bike on 2016 Toyota Corolla
The Thule Passage 3 Bike Carrier # TH911XT has a total weight capacity of 105 lbs, but that's for all 3 bikes. When we break that down it comes out to 35 lbs per bike which is standard for trunk mount bike racks. For your E-Bike you're going to need to install a trailer hitch on your 2016 Toyota Corolla and go with a hitch mount bike rack. I recommend going with the Draw-Tite Trailer Hitch # 24913 and then using the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE 2 Electric Bike Rack # HLY74FR. This bike...

The reason that you can't use the Hollywood Racks Sport Rider SE Bike Rack for 2 Electric Bikes # HLY74FR on the back of your 5th wheel is due to the suspension and the excessive movement that occurs at the rear of the trailer.
