I purchased this along with a 1.25" hitch for my Prius so that I could use my hitched mount bike rack. Bridget at etrailer.com was very helpful by making sure that I got that right adapter and getting it to me quickly. I ordered this on a Thursday and got it on the next Monday, free shipping! We just traveled from Ohio to St Augustine Florida with our 2 bikes trouble free.
Unfortunately I had to return the product because the 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" shaft was not long enough for me to match or mate its pin hole with the pin hole on the hitch. The 2" x 2" portion would hit the bottom of my rear bumper which prevented the 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" shaft from being inserted all the way into the hitch. It would have worked if the pin hole on the 1 1/4" x 1 1/4" shaft could have been inserted about 1/2" more. Looks like I will have to purchase a brand new bike rack since I will not be able to use the 2" x 2" that I now own.
Product was exactly what I needed and to tell the truth, was quite a bit more heavy duty that I had envisioned. I am very enthusiastic and extremely satisfied with the operation of the company and the product.

I needed this product to adapt a standard Honda 1 1/4 inch hitch to a bike rack with a two inch mounting bar. Ordinarily, the hitch bar might have fit the standard Honda mount, but there was a blocking reinforcement bar under the Honda mount. This mount enables me to conform both the existing and bike rack mounts. Note: I carefully measured hole distances from ends of each mount to be sure it fit, which it does. I have no time to test the mount with the full rack load right now, but it seems to be within specified tolerances.
I can't believe how much this thing wobbles inside of my hitch, and how much my accessory wobbles inside of it. Two wobbles don't cancel it and I get wobble-wobble. I have yet to use my accessory because that just won't work out. I'm trying to use the Rhino T-Loader so that I can load a kayak on my roof. Paint also chipped off so easily from playing around with installation; I didn't even USE the accessory yet.
For the cost of this chunk of metal, I'd have hoped for better fitment. Most anti-rattle devices only work for securing the accessory-to-hitch end. I'm not quite sure if I can stabilize both ends...
Overall fit well into existing hitch. However, with the added rack on the car and the extended distance from the rear, the rack sometimes scrapes going out steep driveways. Would not be a problem with a higher ground clearance car.

Please be aware that using an adapter such as this will lower the tongue weight and towing capacity of your hitch by half.
Seems like a decent extender/adapter for my 1 1/4" to 2" hitch needs.

After one year this product continues to work and function as advertised. I use it for lite duty. It provides a platform to which I mount my bike rack via a lite weight trailer hitch. The fit and finish has held up well. Good product, does whats expected.
The product works great.
Original shipping didn’t include the Class 1 clip, took sometime to get it reshipped.
Otherwise, great to do business with Etrailer. Very helpful.

Fit my new Prius hitch perfectly. Only concern in using one of these adapters is to not overload. I'm pretty confident the whole setup will work fine for the hitch mounted bike rack we already have. No worries.

Just be aware that using this adapter will lower the tongue weight capacity of your hitch by half. The tongue weight on a Class I hitch used on your Prius is 200 lbs, so using the adapter will lower that to 100 lbs. This will mean that the weight of the bike rack and the bikes carried upon it cannot exceed 100 lbs.
Fits in exactly in my older 1994 Honda lx draw tite hitch no mods needed.... Perfect for the Thule 2 bike bike rack hitch mount....

Product works as designed with no issues! Fits perfectly in the Draw-Tite hitch with no modifications, glad I bought from etrailer, they know there stuff!
This is the only hitch I could find to fit the Polestar 3/ Volvo 1-1/4" hitch pin hole alignment.
Has worked well, this fits the low weight capacity bike carrier 1 1/4 inch hitch. Not a full capacity 1 1/4 inch full towing hitch. Believe it or not they are different. So get the correct one.

Remember this is slightly different tongue size than one would use to tow. Its made as a bike rack conversion only. And it works perfect for that.
I bought this for my Thule bike carrier (I have a Suburu Outback and needed a conversion to use my tow hitch with it) I find this product to be extremely well made and effective. This company also offered quick delivey and great follow up. I highly recommend this company and product!

After a year of use I can now say that this product is still working extremely well. It is solidly constructed.
The HTAD Hitch Adapter was purchased to accommodate my 2" bike rack in the
1 1/4" hitch receiver on my new car, dissolving my initial dismay at the size of the freshly-installed hitch. The car salesman knew exactly how to solve the problem and texted your website with this product to me right away. It is well-made and beefy enough for the job. Need met. Happy me.

This is the only adapter I could find that fits my drop down hitch on a 2021 Volvo XC60.
I have a Volvo XC60 with the factory installed retractable 1.25" hitch. I needed a 1.25" to 2" adapter for the Thule XT Pro bike rack I purchased previously for a couple of e-bikes. Many adapters will not, however, fit the Volvo receiver correctly as there is only 1.6" available from the back of the receiver to the receiver hole. The adapters I had found at nearby stores, all required 2 inches. This hitch adapter from etrailer, only requires 1.5" and fits the Volvo receiver perfectly. It also seems to be very well made, very solid and I have not noticed any discernable shake with the adapter pinned to the receiver and the bike rake pinned to the adapter. etrailer also shipped extremely quickly - even faster than I expected with an expedited ship request.

Working out well!
The product is definitely highest quality! You can feel it when you hold it in your hand. It has to be the best adapter 1 1/4 to 2 inch
The part was for a 2025 Volvo XC60. It fits perfectly with the Volvo’s tow hitch. I can now use my bike rack without an issue.
Product was delivered on-time as expected. This adapter is being used on a Volvo XC60 with a retractable receiver. Although it fit in the receiver the locking hitch pin did go all the way thru without a little brute force. Not sure if it is a receiver, adapter, or a hitch pin problem. Would have been nice to have a little more guidance.

Hey Karl -- when you mix and match brands, its not uncommon for there to be a little bit of variation in the fitment. Its nothing you did wrong!
Fits our XC60 drop-down hitch receiver perfectly.
Very heavy duty. Will use it with a bike rack I had for another vehicle that had a 2" receiver.

I want to adapt my 11/4 hitch to 2 for a Hollywood platform bike rack. However, the hitch adapter I got locally had some play in it. Do you have any movement with your platform bike rack with your adapter? The movement I had was where the adapter slid into the hitch, not with the bike rack.

Nancy, the adapter has very little movement in my Curt Trailer Hitch Receiver. It fits good with the bike rack
I got this to fit my Volvo which has short insertion depth. It almost fits. A small part of the hole is blocked the way it fits. Can’t quite get the hitch pin in. I’m going to dremmel it out a little and should be fine
After 6 months of searching for an 1 1/2” to 2” adapter to fit a Volvo XC60 retractable receiver, etrailer found one for me solely through your reviews. Fits perfectly. Thank you!

It did the job I wanted it to. Since then I have traded cars went from afull size Mercury to a VW Passat so I am not using it at this time. I lentit to my brother in law and he raved about it also - worked well for him.Hope this helps.
