Fat bikes and beach cruisers ride heavy, and this rack is built to handle them. Each platform holds up to 45 lbs per bike, giving steady support for two bikes with tires up to 4.88" wide. The padded, ratcheting frame hooks grip by the top tube to keep bikes from shifting, while the soft padding prevents scratches on painted frames. It’s solid steel with a black powder coat finish that stays durable and rust resistant through all seasons.
Switching between bikes is simple thanks to the sliding wheel hoops. Each hoop adjusts along the arms with hand knobs to match different bike lengths, from standard mountain setups to long fat-tire rigs. Two sets of wheel holders come with the rack—one for up to 3" tires and one for 4.88" fat tires—so you can mix and match without extra parts.
Grabbing gear from the back shouldn’t mean removing your bikes. The rack’s tilt-down design lets you drop it away for full cargo access, even when both bikes are mounted. When it’s time to hit the road again, the rack folds back into position with a quick pin pull.
There’s nothing worse than a rattling rack on the drive. The included threaded anti-rattle hitch pin tightens the connection at the receiver to cut down on movement and noise. It keeps the ride smooth and the bikes steady from start to finish.
When the bikes are off, the rack doesn’t need to stay in the way. It folds two different ways—either up against the back or with the cradle arms folded toward the mast—so it stays compact and clear. The adapter sleeve makes it ready for either 1-1/4" or 2" hitches, adding flexibility for different setups without needing separate racks.

I received the rack quickly. I suspected there would be damage when I saw the shipping box. One of the wheel hoops was bent. Contacted etrailer and was told I could return the product. I didn’t have the time to return it because of a planned trip. I’ve used the rack as is. Easily adjusts to different bikes and works just fine.

How you guys advertise is miss leading. You should have the weights of what the bike rack can handle. Got the bike rack and to find out in the installation manual it wasn't big enough. Then to top it off you charged me xxx.xx to send it back.

I feel like I scammed a bit. I think I bought both the regular bike rake and a set of wheel things for fat tires. When I thought I was just getting one set of wheel things.

You mentioned that you believed that you were just receiving one set of wheels with the bike rack. This bike rack does come with 2 sets of standard-size wheel holders and 2 set of fat bike tire holders to give you the option to carry any combination of 2 fat or standard bikes.
Hauling carrier and was assemble on May 20th. Assembly went fairly well according to the instructions. As yet have not hauled my ebike but will do so on May 30th.Unit is fairly heavy to handle but I am sure necessary to handle two heavy bikes.

Okay. Vwey hard to use and not a good design.
I bought this for our fat bikes after a lot of frustration with our previous hitch rack that was your typical hang by the frame style. This rack is so easy to use with two fat bikes and allows easy access to the hatchback of our SUV with removing just two pins even while loaded with bikes. It also sits high enough that it does not scrape the ground when backing out of steeper driveways like our other rack. I would recommend this rack to anyone looking for a platform rack for any style bike (we bought the additional tire platforms for our other bikes with narrower tires).

I received the C18085-FB Fat Tire Bike Rack yesterday. It took me about 1/2 hour to assemble the pieces. The instructions could be a bit more clear, especially when it comes to the washers but I figured it out. It appears to be a quality product. I have not had the chance to try it out but eTrailer was very helpful in helping me on the purchase.
It came in 2 boxes because I ordered the Fat Tire mount which included for regular or mounting bike tire holders as well. You would pay an additional $50.00 or so to get the tire holders that are required for fat tire bikes. My tires width measures 4" wide. Another nice feature is it can support 1 1/4" or 2" hitches. It is harder to find a bike rack for fat tire bikes that would work with a 1 1/4" hitch. Most only support 2".

Thank you for your review. This curt bike rack part # C18085-FB comes with an adapter to make it fit into a 1-1/4 or a 2 hitch. I am not sure which size hitch you have but you may want to make sure the adapter is flipped to the correct size to fit into your hitch. If you have a 2 hitch and the adapter is on the 1-1/4 side then it will rock back and forth in the hitch. If you have it on the correct side then an anti-rattle device such as a roadmaster quiet hitch will help. The quiet hitch will tighten up the space between the bike rack and the hitch receiver. If you have a 2 hitch then you will need part # RM-061. If you have a 1-1/4 hitch you will need part # RM-061-125.
