So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.

by:

Exact fit for my 2000 Chevy Silverado. What a time saver. I am glad that etrailer suggested these.

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

  • Best Solution for Lowering Vehicle Temperatures When Towing
The added stress from trailer towing usually shows up as an increased transmission temperature. I am not sure if the gauge you're referring to is displaying engine coolant temperature or if you have one that shows transmission temperature. We do offer Derale Class III transmission cooler # D12903 for your 5.3L Yukon XL which measures a generous 15-1/4 x 7-1/2. This can be mounted in front of your AC condenser to provide supplemental transmission cooling after the OEM cooler in the radiator...

  • Transmission Cooler for 2002 Chevy Silverado 1500HD
Thanks for your kind words! I'd recommend going with a transmission cooler. Unless you live in a far northern location that has freezing temperatures most of the year, we typically recommend going with the largest transmission cooler that will fit in the available space on the front of your radiator directly behind the grille. I'd recommend the Derale # D13504 which measures 11x12 inches which would provide plenty of cooling. If you have 5/8 inch hex fittings on your transmission lines,...

  • Engine Oil and Transmission Fluid Combination Cooer for a 2006 Chevy Avalanche
for a remote combination oil and transmission fluid cooler I recommend # D15230. You will also need installation kit # D13006 and oil cooler kit # D15752. This is a thermostatic oil cooler kit so the thermostat will be associated with the engine oil temperature and it will activate once the temperature reaches 180 degrees so it will be perfect for your application. To make installation of the transmission cooler part I recommend adding fitting # D13035 for the 5.3 liter motor or # D13018...

For your 2001 GMC 2500 HD Sierra, I recommend the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM # D13018 along with the Derale 16-Pass Electra-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, 8 AN Inlets - Class V # D15900. This unit can be mounted anywhere you have space and has an in-line thermostat to shut off at 180 degrees to conserve energy. This will be a high efficiency cooler that can be mounted anywhere.

For installation of a transmission cooler on your 2009 GMC Sierra with the 4.3L V6 engine you will use the Derale Radiator Adapter, part # D13018. If you have the V8 engine ( 4.8L, 5.3L, or 6.0L) you will use the Derale Radiator Adapter, part # D13035. I have posted a photo to show the typical transmission cooler installation. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2012 Chevy Silverado 2500 HD
Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific so you can install any one that will fit including # D13504. For the 6.0 liter engine you may need fitting # D13035. If you have a hard metal line and do not want to use the fitting, you could cut the metal line, flare it, and use hose clamps. The transmission cooler comes with hose, clamps, and mounting hardware. It also includes an Insta-dapt radiator adapter. This adapter is if you have a rubber line, not a metal line, so you can use the...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1998 Chevy K1500 Series Truck
Factory transmission coolers are adequate at best at keeping the transmission fluid within the optimum 160 to 200 degrees F range. Adding a supplemental cooler is a good idea, especially since transmission fluid cannot be over cooled. If you do towing, hauling, or are otherwise looking to get the most life out of your transmission then adding a supplemental cooler would be a great idea. Cooler # D13504 is a good choice. Yes, you can bypass the auxiliary transmission cooler on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 but you will need an adapter to do so, the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM part # D13018 which goes straight on the radiator and allows you to hook up the new lines without any splicing. We typically recommend you just install the new one in-line with the old one. You would need two of them. If the connection does not use an E-clip, you would need to use a compression fitting. The correct fitting will depend on the outside diameter of your transmission lines. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2014 GMC Sierra 1500
For your 2014 GMC Sierra 1500 I would recommend the larger transmission cooler part # D13504 as basically the larger the cooler you have the better, and your truck would have room for it's size of 11" Wide x 12" tall x 7/8" deep. For a fitting that would allow you to install the cooler without having to cut or flare any lines you would want the part # D13018.
