Fit as needed for adding a trailer brake to 2013 Yukon

by:

This kit and the accompanying video were a great fit to get a brake controller on my Jeep. Everything worked as planned. The video even told me I would need a little extra wire and a nut, that I went ahead and got even though I didn't actually end up needing it. Thanks etrailer for the excellent products and service.

by:

etrailer made it easy to buy and install a brake controller in my pickup. Everything necessary for installation arrived quickly in one box, was compatible with factory wiring and worked...the first time. Way to go etrailer!

by:

I have found the product to be just as advertised. I was very pleased with the support I got from eTrailed in chosing the product. The customer care person was very helpful. The video on your web site were very helpful during the installation. The order was delievered on time and as promised. Overall an excellent experience. I will be glad to recommend etrailer to my friends.

Thanks.

Works great and "as advertised". Only problem was I chose the "free shipping" option as a promotion when I purchased it and it took 10 days to get to me. I found that unacceptable. It shouldn't take that long to ship a product weighing in at 1.5 lbs. and the size of a fist from the midwest to Cali. I needed it in 7 days so had to go out and find the exact same one at a local store (for $50 more), then return the etrailer one to the store for a refund when it finally came. I would have saved money and time by just paying the few bucks to get 3-5 day shipping. Nowhere on the free shipping promotion did it say how long it would take.

by:

I ordered a trailer brakes controller and a couple of metric nuts, they were delivered on time and in good condition, now it’s time to install.

by:

It sped up my instalation to order this nut with the unit instead of having to look for one local

by:

I am very happy with the controller and was very easy to install. Once I figured out where to mount it the rest was a breeze. Glad I ordered the 2 hex flange nuts.

by:

Product great, but that was expected. The service and timeliness of the transaction and shipping was second to none. Very Impressed with etrailer.com

by:

Worked as advertised in the video install of the wiring harness.

by:

I had a hard time finding a flange but that would fit the post of my truck for my break controller. This fit perfectly.

by:

Fit my 07 Chevy avalanche for brake control wire up to fuse box for stud.

by:

Good product and great installation vid eo

by:

Delivery arrived as promosed. Well packaged and all items accounted for, can't wait to get to work on this and be ready for camping season!

Thanks etrailer for the great service!

by:

This is such an amazing nut! The threads were spot on, the chrome finish really completed the look of the engine bay. This is a very good nut, I definitely recommend it.

  • Help With Installing a Trailer Brake Controller On a 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 3500
While we do not have an installation video I have linked a great help article we have for this near the bottom of the page. The article includes pictures of the wiring and goes into further detail about the installation on your 2014 Chevrolet Silverado 3500. On top of the brake controller you will need a M6 # 185916 and M8 # 185917 flange nut. For brake controllers our best is the Tekonsha Prodigy P3 # 90195. This has an easy to read LCD screen which you can customize unlike other controllers....

  • Is the Tekonsha Voyager Compatible witha 2009 GMC Yukon XL
Brake controllers are not vehicle specific, and virtually any of them can be installed on any vehicle. The Tekonsha Voyager, part # 39510, can be used on your 2009 GMC Yukon, just make sure that you have it wired properly. If your Yukon came with a 7-Way from the factory, all you will need is the brake controller as the Yukon is pre-wired for it. You will follow the instructions on the article you were looking at. There should be a bundle of wires taped up behind the brake pedal. There...

To complete the installation of the Redarc Tow-Pro Liberty Brake Controller # RED24FR on your 2008 GMC Sierra, you will need a Universal Wiring Harness # RED69FR, a M6 Flange Nut # 185916 and M8 Flange Nut # 185917. There is not a plug and play option for your Sierra as the wiring is bundled near the brake pedal and does not have a OE connector. You will need to splice the wiring from the Redarc harness to your factory wiring. You can choose to solder the wiring and cover with electrical...

  • Is Additional Hardware Needed for Thule Universal Mounting Kit # 7533998
For Thule Universal Mounting Kit # 7533998 the nuts for the screws are fixed in the clamping parts so there is no additional hardware for them. The ends that attach to the ski rack attach to the rack with nuts that should already be on the rack. They should be M6 nuts to match the screws. We have M6 nut # 185916.

For your 2011 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 there is not a pigtail adapter as the wiring does not have a connector. The 4 wires are terminated without a connector and coiled up behind the OBD2 port on your Silverado. I have linked a video showing where the wiring is and how to install a Tekonsha Prodigy P3 Trailer Brake Controller # 90195 below. Sure, you can move your original Prodigy brake controller from the 2004 Ford F-150 to the 2011 Chevrolet Silverado with factory tow package, with no problems. If you installed your Prodigy brake controller with a brake controller wiring harness, # 3035-P, on the Ford truck, you will need to either replace the harness with a new pigtail wiring harness, # 7894, or cut the Ford connector off of the harness and splice the wires to the brake controller wiring under the dash of your 2011 Chevrolet. • Can Brake Controller be Safely Installed in 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500
A brake controller can be safely installed in a 2009 Chevy Silverado 1500; I have never heard about a computer being fried but there is a bit of a different procedure relative to other trucks. So there isn't a problem that needs to be solved, if that makes sense, it just needs to be installed correctly, and it isn't overly complicated. I have added links below to help articles which explain exactly what needs to be done. It just requires connecting wires to the fuse box under the hood,...

I'll link to an article that discusses this in depth, but I'd be happy to run through the gist of it here. Check fuse position 63 and 68, and make sure fuses are installed.
