Video Transcript for Review of Derale Stainless Steel Hose Clamp Set - D13008

Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're gonna take a really quick look at this set of Derale stainless steel hose clamps. This set is going to give you four of these stainless steel hose clamps that will fit with your hoses that range in inner diameter from 5/16 of an inch to a half inch. And these are gonna be very easy to tighten down. You can use a flathead screwdriver, an eight millimeter, or a 5/16 inch socket wrench, or nut driver to tighten these down so that your hose sits firmly on your hose barb. You're not gonna have to worry about it coming loose.

So 'cause these are a stainless steel construction and you can trust they are gonna hold up well for you, and do a good job making sure that your hose stays on that hose barb, so you don't have to worry about oil leaks and that sort of thing. So that completes our look for today. Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching..

Used these, while installing Power Steering and Transmission cooling kits on a 2003 Honda Odyssey. I pulled a 5' x 8' U-Haul trailer from Virginia to Utah. I must say that I am impressed! Had zero issues the entire trip, going up and down hills/mountains with grades of 8%. They are still going strong to this day and have kept all hoses secured.

  • Fluid Leaks After Installing the Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat # D16769
It is surprising to hear your hose is leaking after installing the Derale Adjustable Fan-Control Thermostat, # D16769. We have not received any complaints for this product. I spoke with my contact at Derale and he said there are only a few things that typically cause leaking with this thermostat. First, make sure the included foam pad is placed over the capillary tube. Next, look at the type of hose clamp you are using. If you are using a clip, I recommend replacing it with a screw type...

  • How Long is the Hose Included with Derale Transmission Cooler for a 2013 Toyota Tacoma
The Derale transmission cooler # D13502 comes with 4 feet of hose. This is typically enough for most applications but for your 2013 Toyota Tacoma it will likely not be enough. Additional hose is recommended. For an additional 4 foot length of hose use # D13003. For the proper size clamps use # D13008.

  • Additional Hose Needed for Installing the Derale Series 8000 Kit # D13502 on a 2016 Nissan Frontier
Depending on where you install the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13502 on your 2016 Nissan Frontier, you may or may not need some additional hose. As you saw from the installation video on a 2014 Frontier (which is linked), some additional hose was required for the install. You can aquire new hose from our site using part # D13003 should you need it. This hose is 4 feet long and should be enough for your application. You may also need some additional clamps...

  • Replacement Radiator Fitting for 1996 Cadillac Fleetwood
According to my research, your 1996 Caddy Fleetwood has the GM 5.7L engine. The radiator adapter fitting you mentioned, part # D13018 would indeed be compatible with your vehicle, and could be used to replace the cracked fitting you mention. Since the transmission line running into the radiator is a hard line, you will need to install a short length of 11/32 I.D. hose like # D13003 between the two fittings. You will also need some hose clamps, like those provided with # D13008 to secure...

  • Remote Dual Oil Filter Mount Kit # D15707 for a 2003 Jeep Wrangler X with 4.0 Liter
Derale remote dual oil filter mount # D15707 is not vehicle specific so you would be able to use it on your 2003 Jeep Wrangler X. The filters that you use with this kit would have to have 3/4"-16 threads. If additional hose is needed you can use # D15700 for a 10 foot long section. And for hose clamps use # D13008.

  • Can a Remote Transmission Cooler Be Mounted Under the Front of a Truck Bed
Technically, with enough extra hose, you could mount it anywhere that is safe and does not expose the cooler core to road debris. I have not heard of anyone mounting a cooler in your chosen location though. You would also most likely need more transmission fluid because of the extra hose that would be needed. I recommend staying under the hood because the less hose that is used the less likely it is to get damaged. Plus it will be easier to install. If extra hose is needed a ten foot section,...

  • Can Derale Remote Dual Oil Filter Mount Kit be Mounted on Vehicle Frame Under Passenger Door
With enough hose you could mount the remote dual filter kit # D15707 anywhere. You will want to make sure that the filters and hoses so not drop below the frame. Basically anything hanging too low is susceptible to road debris. The safest location would be up under the hood somewhere. Near to the top of the engine compartment would provide ample protection and accessibility. For hose you can use # D15799 which is a 25 foot long piece. We also have hose clamps # D13008 you can use if you...

  • Will Derale Remote Dual Oil Filter Mount Kit , # D15707, Fit on 1999 Lexus RX300
On the Derale Remote Dual Oil Filter Mount Kit, # D15707, it allows you to put your filter in a convenient location for easier oil changes. It is a dual oil filter, so it will give you additional filtration and increased oil capacity, it does not allow you to bypass the oil filter. I would also recommend the Derale High-Temperature Replacement Hose for Engine Applications - 25' Long, # D15799,and the Derale Stainless Steel Hose Clamps (4 Piece), # D13008.

  • Type of Hose and Hose Clamps for Use with Oil Filter Relocation Kit
Oil pressure can vary as you can see on the gauge of your dashboard when the engine is running. With our oil filter relocation kits like the part # D15707 that you referenced we recommend high temp hose like the part # D15799 and hose clamps like the part # D13008 and there isn't any issue with the lines or pressures. I would not run this type of hose without hose clamps though as that's most likely going to create a huge mess and potentially damage the engine.

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2001 Toyota Tacoma
For your 2001 Tacoma I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13502. This is a Class lll cooler that measures 11-inches wide, 7-1/4 inches tall, and 7/8-inches deep. This cooler is recommended for mid-size cars, SUVs, and trucks like your Tacoma. I have attached a drawing that shows how the hoses need to be run when installing the cooler. If you find your hose is not long enough to attach to the new cooler, you may need an additional Derale Insta-Dapt...

  • How Long is the Hose in Derale Engine Oil Cooler # D15405 for a 2014 Ram 1500 5.7 Liter
The Derale oil cooler # D15405 comes with 10 feet of 1/2 inch hose. You could add another 10 feet using # D15700. Then you would just need a 1/2 inch line to 1/2 inch line hose barb fitting from an auto parts store and some additional hose clamps # D13008. For transmission cooler # D13503 there are no special fittings required for installation. But if the included Insta-dapt fitting does not fit your external transmission cooler and the stock lines are metal you would need to cut and flare...

The hose that comes with the # D13502 and # D13503 transmission coolers is 4 ft long. This is the same with all Derale 8000 Series transmission coolers. If you need additional hose length, we offer a 4 ft long individual hose, # D13003, and a 25 ft hose, # D13007. You may also need additional hose clamps, # D13008, if you purchase additional hoses.

On the Derale Series 9000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/ NPT Inlets - Class I -Extra Efficient # D13611, the fittings that come with the unit are 1/2" NPT x 3/8" hose barb. • Supplemental Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2008 Cadillac Escalade
Actually for best results you would want to keep your factory transmission cooler and then add a supplemental one like the part # D52508 that you referenced. You would also need two of the barb fittings part # D98202 and then hose like part # D15700 and hose clamps # D13008 as well. You will want to route the cooler downstream of the factory cooler so that it first goes through it and then through the Derale. Your fluid temps are crazy high right now, but with an efficient cooler like...

  • Engine Oil Cooler with Thermostat for a 2006 Toyota Tacoma with V6 Motor
First you would need an engine oil cooler kit. I recommend # D15502 because it comes with multiple thread types and has the proper O-ring size for a V-6 Toyota motor. The sandwich adapter included is thermostatic so a separate thermostat is not required. Oil that is cooler than 180 degrees will bypass the heat exchanger, so your engine will warm up faster. You may need some extra hose like # D15700 for 10 feet. And for hose clamps use # D13008. I have included a couple of links to oil...

  • Power Steering Cooler Recommendation for an Off-road Rock Crawler
Typically, in automotive applications, the addition of a supplemental cooler will drop the fluid temperature around 10 to 20 degrees Fahrenheit. Keep in mind, this is with the cooler mounted directly behind a vehicle grille, receiving good airflow. For your situation, I would recommend a different product. The power steering cooler, # D13310, that you referenced will help, but the lack of airflow will probably not give you the results you are looking for. Instead, I recommend looking...
