Video Transcript for Pro Series Detachable Footplate Review

Today we're going to be taking a look at the pro-series detachable foot plate, designed for use with two and quarter inch main tube jacks. Part number on it is PS1400700340. Now as you can see, we've got an included pin here, this is going to securely attach the foot plate to the bottom of our jack. The whole diameter here inside to inside is about two inches. This is going to be designed to fit the jacks so they have the two and a quarter inch main tube and the two-inch tube that comes out of those. The main body of our foot plate measures about three and three quarters of an inch wide and we've got about seven and a half inches in width. Now attachment to your trailer couldn't be easier.

What we do is just bring it down underneath our main shank, slide it into position, we'll lift up on it, and then slide through our pin. Now with that just the steel tube that comes out we've been having issues with this just digging down into the gravel a little bit and causing us some headaches so our foot-pack design here is going to help to dissipate that and spread that weight out to give us more upward pushing force. They've designed it with a Zinc construction, so that's going to help to prevent the rust and corrosion as we go down the road. As you can see with it installed, it's just a matter of letting your jack do the work now. As you can see there, we've got a nice sturdy fit. Our foot-packI's not going anywhere.

We could keep lifting it up but I don't feel like wasting your time with that, so go ahead and just lower it back down. This is going to be fully detachable, if you decide that you don't want the noise or don't want it attached as your going down the road. We can leave it connected just as you see there, but simply by just removing that pin and raising our tube up high enough we'll be able to take it right back off. So there you go guys, that's today's look at the pro-series detachable footplate for two and quarter inch main tube or two inch down tube jacks. Part number on it is PS1400700340. .

Another great purchase. I've always used a block of wood as a base. My trailer is tall and I got sick of it sinking in or rolling off the block. Now I have the choice, use the foot pad or remove it.

Comments
Im still very happy with the foot plate I added to my Bulldog trailer jack. I no longer need to carry with me, or find once there, a block of wood or a rock etc to ensure my jack doesnt sink where I park it. Thank you!

My leveling jack broke on my camper/ice shanty as I was preparing for hard water to thicken. I remembered ordering parts from etrailer when I was building it 4+ years ago. My experience with you back then was excellent as it was this time. Thanks for the quick service and the great products. - Curtis W.

The adjustability of this device is great. It completely solved some height related issues I was having and switching between different tow rigs now is easily accommodated. I am noticing some extra drag a year into using while cranking up or down. This unit does sit outside all year and we do get below zero temps in the winter. I did pre-emtively grease some areas knowing the winters can be tough but I am now curious if the lift mechanics of this Jack are going to last. I am not sure if this is a function of the Jack construction or my trailer but I could only mount the Jack in one orientation. I assumed since there are three tabs with mounting slots, I could rotate 120 degrees to get the optimal placing of features of the Jack like the height adjust. This was not the case. It only lined up with the mounting holes in one orientation, which forced the removal of a battery box on the trailer tongue to get the Jack to fit the mounting holes without interference. A bit more width to the mounting slots may help. Less precise perhaps, but more mounting options.

No idea how these feet get lost but when your trailer comes back without one this is a perfect replacement.

My trailer came with a basic jack that had basically a pipe at the end. Needless to say, that bugger kept hitting my driveway apron and was ripping up the concrete. I purchased one of these footplates and problem solved - it still hits of course - but this keeps it from gouging out chunks of concrete. Great product, fair price, and it exactly what I needed. Thanks eTrailer!

Works great for my application. I needed a jack that did not extend to low below the frame of my v nose cargo trailer. This footplate added just over an inch to the overall length. The ordering process was easy and shipping was faster than expected.

Good accessory, and well priced for the application. Much safer than jack tubing going directly into dirt/pavement or sketchy wood blocks ( and will not imbed itself into wood blocks as well)

Worked perfect to replace the missing jack foot on a vintage toy hauler. A little effort to redo the crushed tubular section & the new foot slipped right on. Thanks for the prompt service.

  • Footplate Recommendation to Replace Wheel Caster on Trailer Tongue Jack
The Pro Series Footplate, part # PS1400700340, is a great choice for a replacement footplate on your trailer jack. The footplate features a snapper pin so no additional clip is needed to secure the foot. I've linked a video for you to take a look at.

  • Distance from Plate to Pin Hole on Pro Series Detachable Footplate # PS1400700340
I went out to the warehouse and was able to measure the distance from the base plate to the pin hole on the Pro Series Detachable Footplate # PS1400700340. The distance is right at 3/4 inches so you should have no problem using it with your existing jack as long as it also has 2 inch diameter tubing. I have included an image labeled with this dimension for you to review.

I went out to our warehouse to take a look at the Buyers Products A-Frame Jack # 3370091265 referenced in your question. I measured a height from the mounting bracket up to the top of the tube (before the handle) of just about 9-1/2 inches. I have attached an image to assist. To get the clearance measurement you're needing you likely will need to move down to a 2,000 pound topwind jack (if possible for your trailer's tongue weight). For this I recommend taking a look at the Pro Series...

  • Recommended Sidewind A-frame Jack for Small Karavan Utility Trailer
I looked up your Karavan trailer online, and found it has a GVWR just shy of 3000 lbs. I'd recommend the Pro Series Sidewind A-frame jack, part # PSRV20000103. The jack has a 2000 lb capacity, which is plenty for your small trailer, as the jack won't need to pick up the entire weight of the trailer, just it's tongue weight. The additional capacity means that jack won't need to work very hard and should therefore last you a very long time. The jack doesn't include a foot plate, which...

The footplate for Bulldog rack and gear jack # BD018520 is welded to the foot and cannot be removed but I do have some recommendations for you. First, take a look at Pro Series jack # PS1401000303. The mounting bracket is very low relative to the bottom of the jack tubes, 5-1/2 inches. You can use footplate, # PS1400700340 and wheel # PS1400750340. The wheel is rated for 1,200 pounds so it would limit the jack capacity to 1,200 pounds also. • Fulton F2 Swing-Up Jack for a [email protected] TAB Tear Trailer with a 1.5
I think the Fulton F2 Swing-Up Jack is a good choice. The model for 4 - 5" frames is # F1413140334. The 1600 lb. tongue weight rating is much more than you need, but won't affect the function of the jack. The height will work and it will get the jack level with the tongue when traveling. My only concern would be that you have enough space on your frame for the jack to swing up. You will need approximately 25" of frame space that is free from other accessories to allow the jack to swing...

  • Is Footplate from Shelby 5793 Jack Compatible with Pro Series Round, A-Frame Jack # PSEA20000340
Footplates for trailer jacks tend to be universal so I would be surprised if the one from your Shelby wasn't compatible with the Pro Series Round, A-Frame Jack # PSEA20000340 that you referenced. The Pro Series Detachable Footplate # PS1400700340 that was made to go with this jack has the standard 1/4" pin so if the footplate from your Shelby has a 1/4" pin and has a tubing diameter of 2" on the jack itself then you can most certainly use your old footplate with the Pro Series jack.

You would have to open up the lower hole to match the correct size of the larger jack. A qualified fabricator in your area would have no problem doing this. This jack would work great for you as it has more than enough capacity. For a foot plate you would need part # PS1400700340 or a wheel caster # PS1400750340.

As far as I know they are not yet making one that would work out well for your travel trailer. Your best option is a different jack that doesn't stick down so far below the trailer frame.
