Question:
just wondering if my stock trans cooler is better than a aftermarket one

Expert Reply:
Factory transmission coolers are adequate at best at keeping the transmission fluid within the optimum 160 to 200 degrees F range. Adding a supplemental cooler is a good idea, especially since transmission fluid cannot be over cooled. If you do towing, hauling, or are otherwise looking to get the most life out of your transmission then adding a supplemental cooler would be a great idea.
Cooler # D13504 is a good choice. To avoid having to cut and flare lines I recommend adding hose fitting # D13018. I have linked a video showing a typical installation of a transmission cooler and our FAQ article on transmission coolers for you.
