So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Won't be sorry, thanks

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2011 Chevrolet Express Van 1500
For your 2011 Chevrolet Express Van 1500, I recommend going with the Derale Transmission Cooler # D13503 along with the Radiator Adapter Fitting # D13018. The fitting will allow you to quickly and easily install the transmission cooler without having to cut or flare the lines. This transmission cooler measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall and 7/8 inches deep. This is a great plate-fin cooler that will prolong the life of your transmission and improve its overall performance. When...

  • Transmission Cooler for a GM K3500 Pickup Truck with a 6.5 Liter Diesel
We generally recommend going with the largest cooler that will fit in the space available in the engine compartment. The Most popular cooler for the K series with the 6.5 liter is # D13503 that you have referenced. It measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep. You can get more cooling efficiency using a stacked plate cooler. I would go with # D13403. Even though it is smaller the stacked plate design is more efficient so it is rated higher than the plate fin coolers. You...

  • Transmission Pan Cooler for a 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 4x4 5.3 Liter with 4L60E M-30 Transmission
Derale Transmission Pan Cooler, # D14204, is designed for GM vehicles with 700R4 and 4L60E transmissions from 1982 to 1999 and we do not list an transmission pan cooler for the 2000 GMC Sierra 1500 with 4L60 M-30 transmission. The issue you could run into is that the exhaust on the vehicle, or other components, could interfere with installation of the pan cooler. What I recommend is to go with the most efficient and largest standard transmission cooler available that will fit in front...

  • Recommended Transmission Cooler for 2007 Cadillac Escalade
When towing a trailer, especially when there are hills or mountains, you will be wise to add a transmission cooler. For your 2007 Cadillac Escalade, I recommend the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets # D13503. For this installation you will also want the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035 if you have the snap in transmission line or the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM # D13018 if you have the threaded fittings on your Escalade....

  • Mounting The Derale Transmission Cooler # D13504 in 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe 5.3L
The item you selected, Derale Transmission Cooler # D13504, is a fit for your 2003 Chevrolet Tahoe but you would need to find a mounting location. With such a large cooler you may have to find a different location other then behind the front grille. Mounting the transmission cooler behind the grille, in front of the AC core is the most ideal and efficient cooling location to mount it,. The other locations would be between condenser and radiator, and between the radiator and engine. Since...

  • Derale D13504 Transmission Cooler Installation on a 1993 Chevy G-30 Van
There are not specific installation instructions when it comes to installing transmission coolers, but there are basic guidelines for installing one that are pretty universal. The first step for installing this Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, part # D13504, on your 1993 Chevy G-30 van with A/C is finding the best location for mounting the cooler. If you mount the cooler in front of the radiator, you will get the most cooling efficiency from the cooler, whereas it...

Transmission coolers are not vehicle specific so you can install any one that will fit including # D13504. For the 6.0 liter engine you may need fitting # D13035. If you have a hard metal line and do not want to use the fitting, you could cut the metal line, flare it, and use hose clamps. The transmission cooler comes with hose, clamps, and mounting hardware. It also includes an Insta-dapt radiator adapter. This adapter is if you have a rubber line, not a metal line, so you can use the...

  • Correct Transmission Line Fittings to Install Transmission Cooler on 2009 Chevy Traverse
According to Derale, the correct fitting to install the D13504 cooler in your 2009 Traverse would be part # D13035, if the return transmission line is attached to the radiator using an E-clip. You would need two of them. If the connection does not use an E-clip, you would need to use a compression fitting. The correct fitting will depend on the outside diameter of your transmission lines. For a 5/16 inch line use part # D13031, for a 3/8 inch line use # D13032 and for 1/2 inch line use...

For your 2004 Cadillac Escalade ESV with the 6.0L V8 engine, I recommend looking at the Derale Transmission Cooler # D13503. This is an excellent plate-fin cooler that will help to prolong the life of your transmission, providing more efficient cooling, especially when towing up those mountain passes. The cooler itself measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inch deep. I just recommend making sure that you have the needed space available between the Escalade's grille and AC...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 1998 Chevy 1500 Truck with 5.7 Liter Engine
Transmission coolers are pretty universal in the vehicles they can fit. The part # D13504 would be an excellent choice for your 1998 Chevy Silverado 5.7 liter. I attached an install video that shows it being installed in a similar larger GM SUV. You would also want the fitting part # D13018 so that you don't have to cut any metal lines.

  • Recommended Transmission Fluid and Engine Oil Cooler for a 2013 Chevrolet Express Van 3500
I have exactly what you will need to keep both the engine oil and transmission fluid cool in your 2013 Chevrolet Express Van 3500 but a remote cooler will not be necessary. Instead, I recommend using the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler part # D15902. As long as you have at least 17" wide x 12-1/2" tall x 3/4" deep of space to mount the cooler behind your grille and in front of your radiator/condenser then it will work well for you. You can expect a drop in engine oil...

When it comes to transmission coolers, I recommend choosing the largest transmission cooler that will fit into the available space. I would recommend measuring the available space so you know what size cooler to look at. This is a Class lll cooler and will work great with your Express. You will also need the radiator adapter fittings, part # D13018. Yes, you can bypass the auxiliary transmission cooler on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 Z71 but you will need an adapter to do so, the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM part # D13018 which goes straight on the radiator and allows you to hook up the new lines without any splicing. You should be able to install the transmission cooler like you have described provided you have enough hose to reach.
