I got this 7 way plug for my 99 f350 because the old one was corroded and didn't work properly. This unit was priced right arrived in a timely manner and was very simple to install. I just had to find where on the harness the old one plugged in and plug the new one in.

Ford F-250 Super Duty

2001 Ford F250 wiring tow harness was a perfect fit. Plug n play.

by:

Well , first, I thought it was a ford replacement part , when it came in , not 1 but 2 of them serparate packages , then when I go to install, I see it’s not the double with regular plug also, so this part is useless for me. The one on my truck has 7 pin and 5 pin together. You can not take 7 pin out and switch with new one. Not sure why you sent two kits

You mentioned that you wanted to have a harness that would have both the 7- and 4-way connection. I am happy to see if we have what you are looking for. What is the year, make, and model of your truck? Did it come with a factory 7 way?
-- Etrailer Expert Jenny N - 06/22/2022
Yes ma’am, it came from Ford that way F-450 platinum, all options. Let me know if you carry the dual plug together, please

What is the year of your Ford?
-- Etrailer Expert Jenny N - 06/22/2022
2016 F-450 Platinum Dually
-- comment by: Gary - 06/22/2022
I looked at everything that we have for the 2016 Ford 450 Platinum Dually and we do not have a seven way to offer that also comes with the four way. I had wanted to offer part HM40975 as a solution because it works with the Ford 350 however it will not. I am guessing it is because the F 450 does not have the round US Carr connection. That is my best guess.

Ford F-250 Super Duty

I purchased the 90° 7-pole wiring harness for the bed of my F250 and the OEM replacement 7-pin harness for the rear bumper. I'm the 2nd owner and for a long time I left the plastic bed-liner in it. When I removed it recently I discovered there was a hole in the bedside from the previous owner. I use my truck to pull a fifth-wheel camper too, and the bumper wiring harness pretty much maxes out my trailer's pigtail. Both wiring harnesses were very easy to install, and I was even able to trim the spacer provided with the kit to fit the contour of the bed where the previous owner had drilled the hole. It looks like it came installed from the factory!

1999 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I have a 1999 F250 4x4 and wanted to upgrade from 6 round to 7 round to match the car trailer I had just bought. I had almost given up on finding a plug and play up grade and was preparing myself to start cutting wires. I'm so thankful that I found this web sight. They have a very large selection including the one that I needed. On top of that the video of how to install was spot on. I would not have thought of having to add a fuse and upgrade another under the hood.
They were very helpful, great turnaround time and great product. I will definitely buy from them again.

Attached are images of the installation in a 1999 Ford F250 Super Duty 4WD 4 Door 8' bed. I left the 4 prong connection mounted, and tied and bagged the connection for future use if needed.

Plug and play good quality!

Awesome direct replacement fit . Plug and play replacement. I did have to drill a hole in my trucks mounting location as not all the holes lined up exactly but that was a minor inconvenience for the ease of replacement!

2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty

I bought the 118243 replacement 7 way trailer connector for my 2000 Ford F250 7.3 Super Duty. Hooked it up in less than an hour. I also needed the adapter bracket 11840. Without this bracket, the 118243 connector would not mount correctly to my truck. It would not clear the bottom of my bumper in the original mounting position on the bumper. I also bought the Pollak 7 plus 4 way connector because I have multiple trailers with different connectors. This product is HM40975 and I highly recommend that it be purchased with the other two products.

The guys at eTrailer really know their products and are so helpful. They know what exceptional customer service is all about. Also, I love all of their online videos and information on the website that allows you to make informed decisions. Their prices are very competitive too. With free shipping over $99, they can't be beat.. For those reasons, I will not buy trailer gear anywhere else.

2000 Ford F-250 Super Duty

Fits my 2000 F250 Superduty perfectly. I ordered this with the 7 and 4 pole trailer connector HM40975 since my boat trailer has the 4 pin. Too bad they don't sell the wire harness without the 7 pole if you go that route. Had to shim 3/4" for the bracket or the plug would be obstructed by the bumper. I'm very pleased with the result and service.

by:
2000 Ford F-350 Super Duty

Fit perfectly, super fast install. Thanks so much!

1999 Ford F-250 and F-350 Super Duty

So I was led to this website while shopping online for the wiring harness that I needed. I mistakenly ordered the wrong part and immediately called etrailer with my error. I spoke with a gentleman named Laser who immediately corrected my mistake and actually shipped the correct harness while I was on the phone. Because it was actually less than other online sites even with shipping. Thanks guys

by:

The parts fit exactly with the OM fittings and work perfectly thank you.

by:

It worked great, I simply removed the old one and replaced it with yours and everything is working fine. Thank you.

by:

Very happy with the direct plug in. All connections look like they are good and weather tight. Good rubber seal on the dust cover.

I really like the detailed tracking. Great follow up after the sale. I will be back again.

by:

Installed easily!! Plugged directly into my factory wiring harness. Worked perfectly.

  • 12-Volt Accessory Power Feed on 2008 Ford F250 is Not Charging Travel Trailer Battery
In order to activate the 12-volt accessory power feed to the 7-way, there is a fuse and a relay that need to be installed in the fuse box under the hood. Your owners manual or the legend on the fuse box lid will show you the correct location. If the accessory circuit once worked in the past, check for a blown fuse or a bad relay. If the fuse and relay are already in place and are not faulty, please get back with me and will will look into some other less likely possibilities. Keep in...

According to the diagram of the various locations in the power distribution box, location # 38 and 39 are not shown. The manual goes on to say that 38 and 39 are located in a smaller box that should be found adjacent to the larger box (closer to the brake master cylinder). I also found the same...

You will need to locate the vehicles power distribution box and the trailer tow relay block attached to it. This is under the hood on the driver side. You will need to open the cover to access the fuses. The information for where the fuse locations are will be in the owners manual of your vehicle or even if there is a legend on the fuse box cover you can use that. You will be looking for the trailer tow electric brake and trailer tow battery fuse locations. For the relays you will be looking...

So if you had a trailer wiring harness on there at one point and it got damaged you could simply just plug in the # 118243 and you would be ready to go. • What is the Best Way to Check to See if a Relay is Bad on a 2008 Ford F-250
The easiest way to check a relay is to pull the relay and then insert a new one. I would say that it is likely a relay issue since you stated you checked all the fuses already. Use the vehicle owners manual to find the locations of the relays related to the tow package wiring. Before you change out a relay and reconnect the trailer you will want to be sure to determine what caused the problem in the first place.
