Question:

Good evening. I have a PHEV model 2026 Toyota RAV4 and I am interested in adding a hitch for a upcoming trip. Is there an aftermarket hitch available for the 2026 Toyota RAV4 PHEV? Thank you for your time.

There sure is Greg and congrats on the new SUV. To install a hitch on your 2026 Toyota RAV4 PHEV, I recommend the Curt item # C34FR62ZY.

The Curt Hitch item # C34FR62ZY is custom fit for the 2026 Toyota RAV4 and fits all models including your PHEV. It is a class III hitch with a 2" receiver that has a 4,500 lbs towing capacity and a 675 lbs maximum tongue weight.

I really like the Curt Hitch item # C34FR62ZY because of how it looks once it's installed. The main crosstube is going to install behind your rear bumper which completely conceals it. All you'll see is the 2" receiver, which not only gives a more factory appearance but also helps with ground clearance.

We had a customer install the Curt item # C34FR62ZY on a 2026 RAV4 PHEV and sent in some pictures that I attached below so you can see what it looks like installed.

What do you plan on using your new hitch for?

I have a 2026 rav4 xse phev, had this hitch installed a few weeks ago. Hitch fits great, you only see the receiver hitch as the rest is tucked away under the vehicle. I had it installed for $100 but looks easy, guess u do it yourself. Clearance after hitch was installed was almost 12” to ground, it fits below the bumper with no need to cut the bumper. I use it mostly for towing bikes, I don’t have the wire harness. Make sure to disable the PKSB sensor from the large screen controls. Otherwise if you try backing up with a bike rack the car will automatically slam the brakes on very unnerving. Kick sensor still works to open the rear tailgate. Good luck

@TomK Thanks for the tips Tom! Happy to hear the hitch looks so well installed. Thank you so much for the clearance measurement. That's extremely helpful because we typically have to install the hitches ourselves to get it. My Durango has that autobrake feature as well and it's the dumbest thing I've seen on a new vehicle. Seams in parking lots will set it off in the right lighting. It scares me every time and must be pretty loud outside too because I always get strange looks. I really appreciate you taking the time to share that feedback. If you have any questions down the road, don't hesitate to reach out.
