Cinching tie-downs secure your gear to a cargo carrier or roof rack. Each durable polypropylene strap has a chromate-plated steel cam buckle, and the included buckle pads fit over the buckles to prevent scratches. 750 lbs WLL when strap is looped.

Features:

  • Cinching tie-downs let you secure a variety of items to your cargo carrier or roof rack
    • Perfect for kayaks, canoes, surfboards, and other gear
  • Included protectors surround buckles with padding to help prevent scratches on your vehicle and your cargo
  • Cam-lock buckles hold straps tight over your gear
    • Plain end of strap feeds through buckle so that you can cinch strap around your cargo
  • Chromate-plated steel resists corrosion
  • Durable polypropylene webbing
  • Made in the USA

Specs:

  • Strap length: 9'
  • Safe working load limit (WLL): 750 lbs when strap is looped
  • Maximum load (break strength): 1,125 lbs when strap is looped
  • Quantity: 2 cinch straps
  • Limited lifetime warranty

Note: Tie-down straps must be chosen according to their safe working load limit (WLL). The weight of the secured cargo must not exceed the combined WLL of the straps being used. For example, if you are using straps with a WLL of 500 lbs each to tie down a load weighing 1,000 lbs, then you need at least 2 straps to safely secure that load. It is recommended that you always use straps in pairs.

These straps are fantastic! I use them three to five times a week to strap various kayaks in my truck.

by:

The straps are strong, secure easily with spring loaded jam cleats which have hardy rubbery covers to protect your auto when flinging them around. Arrived promptly.

by:

all arrived promptly and intact!
will
need to wait for snow to melt in Minnesota for trying on my roof racks.

by:

Much better then the ones that came with the kayak mounting system I bought.

by:

Used the straps this past week to transport my kayak. Kept it tight to the rack. Exactly what I needed.

by:

This was ordered to have a “spare” on hand in case I need one in the future. Some rack accessories will require the aero strip to be cut so I wanted a replacement “just in case”.

by:

Quality product from Thule. Thicker and less likely to snag or fray than cheaper copies. My $1,000 kayak is worth it.

by:

These are great, and the rubber protective covers for the buckles totally protect my surf ski when I tie it onto the roof-rack.

by:

2nd pair of these straps used to tie my kayak to a Hullavator kayak rack. Work very well.

by:

Have had this product for a year and have used it to move furniture as well as strap down paddlebaords and kayaks. It is a very reliable product and the strap doesn’t lossen up. I would highly recommend.

by:

I have several J-cradle for kayak. Thule's load strap is most secure lock and no loosening and no over tightening which some ratchet strap does. I like this Thule strap.

by:

I love my Thule straps. I feel my kayak is very secure on the roof of my car when transporting it. Thank you for your quick delivery and easy to use ordering process. I’m a very happy customer.

by:

Nicely made straps and easy to use. Perfect for tying a canoe or kayak to the top of your car or any other strapping needs you have. Rubber end caps are nice so the buckles do not scratch the paint on your vehicle. I'm using on a Toyota Highlander to hold down a canoe. Perfect strap for this application.

by:

The right length for holding a standard kayak on the Thule rack. I have a pair of 15 foot straps that are too long. These 9 footers are just right.

by:

Somehow managed to lose a set of these and after a few weeks of using my backup set (12 ft with no covering on the metal buckles) decided to replace them. The main reason is to protect the car when throwing the strap and buckle around... Also ordered a spare set of buckle protectors, which ends up being all I really needed - they fit on the other set of tie-down straps.

by:

Solid build quality.
Worked great on
first three long trips. Used to secure bike to hitch rack. And a roof bag to the crossbars.
No issues.

by:

I presently use one of these Thule load straps, which I owned, to secure one bike to my bike rack. I shortened it and burned the end to keep it from fraying. The product is very good; very strong, durable and the buckle easy to use. That is why I ordered more of these Thule straps; I considered straps from Home depot and other places but they didn't quite fit my need. I will modify one of the new Thule straps and use it to secure a second bike.

by:

Item is exactly as described. Perfect for securing bikes to bike rack. Straps are great quality. Love the rubber protector for buckle to prevent scratches to my car or bike. I have shopped with etrailer many times. Service is excellent and shipping is lightning fast.

by:

Good quality. I just should have ordered longer straps.

by:

You don’t know the trouble I had in getting these. Honestly, I forgot to look on etrailer, despite the fact that we purchased out Thule kayak rack from them. Three other places took my order, only to the. Tell me they had no idea when they would get them in stock. These straps are super high quality and the rubber cover over the clips helps avoid damage to your kayaks and your vehicle. We have other straps, which are fine for a short trip, but I wouldn’t feel comfortable on a long drive with the at highway speeds. With these, I have already started planning our kayaking adventure. They are pricey, but well worth the investment.

by:

This recent order of straps adds to our existing set (we got another kayak). These straps have been workhorses for us, strong and easy to use. Good value, good price. I definitely recommend this product.

After a year, these straps continue to be reliable and easy to use. I wouldnt get any other brand.

by:

Thank goodness I found etrailer! We bought a used Thule rack for our kayaks and unfortunately 2 of the 4 straps were severely frayed to the point of us worrying that they would hold. I did research online and etrailer's website. Their prices were substantial less than either from Thule directly or any other place I could find. The straps are Thule brand, and their customer service was great. I ordered from them and they shipped promptly - got them within a couple of days. I got a follow up email asking if I was satisfied. I live in a rural area, and sometimes ordering on-line can be a gamble because not all companies who do mail order have the same strong customer service ethic as this company. Etrailer was wonderful and I would not hesitate to order from them again. I highly recommend their products, pricing, and service to anyone who needs Thule (or other) replacement parts

by:

Perfect replacement takes like two minutes to swap out . Though originally on backorder etrailer got it to me pretty quick and kept me informed as to the status along the way A+ George. Would definitely purchased from these guys again.

by:

Products are as advertised, very fast delivery, as always! Thanks

  • Best Way to Transport 4 Kayaks on 2015 Chevy Traverse
Without knowing the length of the crossbars and the weight of the kayaks, I would have some doubts that you're going to be able to carry 4 kayaks on the roof of a 2015 Chevy Traverse-but if you were going to do it the Thule Stacker # TH830 would be the way to go since they don't take up a ton of space. You're going to need roughly 50" (the Stacker takes up about 3" of bar space) of crossbar space to successfully do this. I would also recommend checking your owner's manual to find out the...

That does look pretty iffy in regards to traveling at high speeds on the interstate and there is one thing you can do that I recommend, and that's add a trailer hitch and load extender. You did not mention what year your Honda Fit was but since load extenders require a 2 inch hitch, if your Honda Fit is a model year 2009 to 2014 you need the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver # 306-X7286 or if you have a 2015 to 2017 Honda Fit you will need the EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver...

  • Which Roof Rack Allow Me To Mount A Paddle Board On A Camper Shell?
I recommend going with Thule TracRac CapRac Ladder Rack for Camper Shell/Truck Cap # TH29200XT. This will bolt on to the top of your camper shell. This will allow many accessories to be mounted by use of clamping on or by use of the built-in t slot channel on the bars. You can then use a paddle board carrier such as Thule SUP Taxi XT Stand-Up Paddleboard Carrier - Roof Mount - 2 Boards # TH810001. This will hold up to 2 paddle boards and will simply clamp on to the Thule bars. Or for a...
