Can the Thule Gate Mate Pro Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack be Used with Electric Bikes

I spoke to my contact at Thule about the Thule Gate Mate Pro Tailgate Pad and Bike Rack part # TH823PRO. They do not list a specific per bike weight capacity for the tailgate pad as the full weight of the bikes will never be placed directly onto it but you should not have any issues using it to haul your two 60 lb electric bikes. I would however use some additional straps such as the Thule Load Strap Cinch Straps part # TH521 to help support the bikes.
