Features to know about

Easily Load and Unload: Post-Style Guide-Ons

Loading and unloading your boat doesn't have to be a nerve-wracking experience anymore. With the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons, you get a visual target that makes centering your boat on the trailer a breeze. The high-profile 60-inch guide-ons extend out of the water, offering a highly visible target to assist during loading, even in deeper waters. These robust guides ensure your boat aligns perfectly, saving you time and frustration at the ramp.

Durability Meets Simplicity: Pre-Galvanized Steel Construction

Sturdy and long-lasting, the guide-ons are constructed from 16-gauge pre-galvanized steel, offering strength where you need it most. Even though the steel edges might oxidize over time, a simple primer and paint job will keep them fresh and rust-free. The steel posts are seamlessly paired with white PVC pipes that slide over them, enhancing visibility and providing additional protection to your boat.

No Drill, No Problem: Quick and Easy Installation

Nobody wants to spend hours installing equipment. These guide-ons feature an easy, drill-free setup, mounting directly onto the trailer frame using the included hardware. The setup accommodates trailer frames up to 3 inches wide by 4-1/4 inches tall, eliminating the need for additional purchases or complex installations. For larger frames, optional long U-bolts ensure a perfect fit.

Enhanced Trailer Visibility: Tall and Bright White PVC Pipes

The tall 60-inch PVC pipes not only help with centering your boat but also make your trailer highly visible both on the road and at the ramp. Whether you're navigating through traffic or reversing in low-light conditions, these Guide-Ons ensure your trailer is always in sight. The durable PVC pipes withstand the elements without fading, maintaining optimal visibility.

Perfect Fit for Most Trailers: Adjustable Placement

The flexibility in placing the guide-ons closer or further from the trailer ensures a custom fit for virtually any setup. Adjusts out to 19 inches from the trailer to securely accommodate varying boat widths, ensuring a snug fit regardless of size. Ride easy knowing that your boat is well-secured with these adaptable guide-ons.

Guiding You Smoothly: Ideal for Various Conditions

Whether you're battling strong currents, high winds, or tricky ramps, the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons are up to the challenge. Their design ensures they stand firm against forces trying to misalign your boat, providing reliable support no matter where your adventures take you.

  • What Size Trailer Guides are Recommended for a 22 Foot Sea Ray?
For your 22-foot Sea Ray, I suggest using the 60-inch tall CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons, # CE27640. Posts of this height are going to remain visible while your trailer is partially submerged, making it easier to guide your boat. These guide-ons use white PVC pipes which slide over the steel posts for enhanced visibility in the water and are installed with U-bolts so you can avoid drilling. I've attached a link to a video review of this product for you to take a look at.

  • How Far Away Will 40 PVC Guide-On Sit From Trailer
The most room you can get with the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27620 is right at 11" so you'll need the 60" long guide-on kit # CE27640 instead which is about 6" longer and will give you more then enough clearance. If the 60" PVC guide-ons are too tall for your application then you can always cut them so that they are shorter.

We do have exactly what you need in a kit; you are looking for the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27640, which has two uprights, including the PVC and the mounting hardware. These posts will work on trailer frames that are up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall.

  • Availability of 60" Tall Guide-On Posts For Boat Trailer With 3" x 5" Frame
We have exactly what you're looking for. You can use the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27646 (black) or # CE27640 (white). Since your frame is 5" tall you will also need the Extra-Long U-Bolt Kit # CE11416.

  • Boat Trailer Guide Ons with Longer Horizontal Length for Fitting Wider Boat
The widest post style guide ons we have for a boat trailer are the CE Smith part # CE27640 which has a lower horizontal section of the guide on at 21 inches long. So to determine if this would fit you'd need to measure 21 inches from bottom of frame out to see if that would be enough.

  • Which Size Post-Style Guide-Ons Should Be Used On 2009 Century 2001 Boat Trailer
The best size guide on to get would be the one that works based on where you would attach them to your frame and the height of the boat. Ultimately that is up to you to decide. We have the # CE27620 which are 40" tall and also the 60" tall # CE27640. Both of these would attach to your trailer frame using the U-bolts and bracket. If you would rather attach the guide-ons with I-beam clamps then the # CE27648 is another option. It does not look like you would be able to fit these in the...

  • 60 Inch Guide Ons for Boat Trailer With Rectangular Tube Frame
The # CE27648 Guide Ons you'd looked at are designed for I-beam trailer frame members, from the photo you provided, it looks like your frame members are a simple boxed in rectangular tube. If that's the case, and the frame members aren't more than 3 inches wide and 4-1/4 inches tall, I'd recommend the # CE27640. These guide ons are exactly the same, but the mounts are designed for a tubular or C-channel frame like you show in the photo. You can see how the guide-ons are installed in the...

  • Which Boat Guides Should I Get For My 22 Foot Tritoon Boat?
Thanks for the photos, nice boat! I think with a boat of that size, you would be better off getting the large post-style guides as the smaller ones may not be sufficient and would be harder to see. I would go with the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 60" Tall # CE27640. These fit trailer frames up to 3" wide x 4-1/4" tall; for frames that are up to 5-1/4" tall you will also need to get Extra-Long U-Bolt Kit # CE11416. Post style guide ons like the part # CE27640 are designed to be visual aids and are not designed to be used as physical guides. I attached a picture that shows what they look like installed as well.

They sure do. They're available in several different lengths shorter than the 75 inch high # CE27636 guide-ons that you'd looked at. Here are the un-lighted versions: • 65 inches tall, part # CE27637 • 60 inches tall, part # CE27640 • 40 inches tall, part # CE27620 If you'd prefer lighted guide-ons, those are available as well in certain heights: • 60 inches tall, part # CE27760 • 40 inches tall, part # CE27740

  • Will Putting Boat Trailer Guide-Ons Forward on the Trailer Help Reduce the Chances of Hitting Them
What you are saying makes sense to me. Since you don't care as much about where the boat trailer starts, using the guide-ons like the # CE27640 towards the front of the trailer to make identifying center easier makes sense. That should then mean your boat is engaged with the trailer bunks by the time your boat is approaching the guide-ons and reduces the chance of the guide-ons getting hit. If your thought process is wrong, then I am right there with you because it makes sense to me.

  • How to Choose Between 40 Inch and 60 Inch Boat Trailer Guide-Ons
You could always go with the taller 60 inch guide-ons, # CE27640, and trim as needed. But if you go to different places to use the boat, you never know how much of the trailer you will need to submerge and may find that the 40 inch would be too short in some cases. You would want the top of the guide-on taller than the boat as well (when loaded on the trailer). I have linked the installation instructions for you.

For boats like your 2007 Bayliner 19.4 I find that the 60" CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons # CE27640 are the correct height. You are correct in stating that the guideposts on the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers - 60" Tall # CE27640 will only adjust out to 13 inches from your trailer. The mounting brackets used will not be able to provide any additional length. If you need a bit more room and are okay with taller guideposts, I recommend the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons - 75" Tall # CE27636. In order to obtain 24" the best option we can offer you would be to instead use the CE Smith Post-Style Guide-On part # CE27640. • Choosing Boat Trailer Bunks versus Guide-Ons for Trailering in Rough Waters
Considering the rough water where you boat, I suggest you consider carpeted bunks or roller bunks. Bunks will do a better job than guide-ons at actually controlling the boat's motion while you're getting it up on the trailer. Guide-ons are really intended to provide a visual cue, but not really for actually controlling the boat's movement as it is trailered. As soon as the hull makes contact with the bunks it will begin to stabilize the craft's movement. I have linked our main pages for...

The CE Smith Post-Style Guide-Ons for Boat Trailers # CE27640 just need to be far enough apart that the boat can fit between them when loading it out of the water. Since it sounds like you're looking into these for transporting canoes you actually shouldn't need the uprights at all. They are designed to be for a bigger boat where you have to back the trailer into the water to load the boat. The uprights stick out of the water so that it's easier to know that the boat is positioned correctly. I...

These mount to the rear cross bar that is 1.96" to 2.57" and are spring loaded to push your boat to the center of your trailer. Since these mount on the rear cross bar they do not need to stick out on the sides of the trailer and are less likely to become damaged than those that stick out.
