Today we are going to be taking a look at the CE Smith U bolt. The heavy duty square U bolts is going to let you secure brackets to your boat trailer. This is designed for bolster or bove board brackets that has have inch diameter holes, or half inch wide mounting slots. But it can be used for a variety of other applications as well. It is made a galvanized steel, so it is going to do a great job a resisting rusting, corrosion. Making in suitable for salt water exposure. It is going to include one U bolt and you are going to get the mounting hardware.
Which is going to include two nuts and two lock washers. The product is made right here in the USA. Let's take some time to go over some basic measurements with you real quick. We are going to take a measurement of the length. Basically measuring from the bottom of the crossbar to the end of the threaded portion, and that is going to give a measurement of four and sixteenth of an inch. The bolt size is going to be a half inch by thirteen. The first number is the diameter and the second number is the thread pitch. The threaded portion is going to give a measurement of about two inches long.
The distance that we have between the two bolts or the two studs, on center. That is going to give us a measurement of two and nine sixteenth of an inch, and then the inner width, which is basically the opening that we have. That is going to give a measurement of two and one sixteenth of an inch. That is going to do it for today's look at the CE Smith U bolt.

The 2-9/16 inch dimension mentioned in the video is actually the center to center distance between the sides of the u-bolt. The inside dimension is 2-1/16.
