  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

The fan is nice, the brass compression barbed fittings did not work. They leaked from both threads. I paid for fancy with a quickness 2 day shipping, took 5 days. I’m just glad I wasn’t too much in a hurry to cool my dads transmission for his road trip. 820195

Review from a similar Atomic-Cool in Transmission Coolers

This is a good cooler however on a 4 wheel drive avalanche it's a challenge to get it installed in a position that will work with all of that equipment under there. I pinched the oring a little bit and it's leaking very slightly. On the next oil change I'll replace the oring, other than that this cooler works great. 479466

Review from a similar Atomic-Cool in Transmission Coolers

Oil cooler works great, Only thing that I have an issue with is I can not use my stock oil filter with it. I have a 1992 Chevy K3500 with a 454 tonawanda 7.4 liter. In the instructions it is telling me to use a filter that is for a 350 or a 5.6 liter. But I was told by Derale that I should have no issues at all. 387448

  • Do Inlet And Outlet Ports Need To Be Mounted In A Particular Direction On Derale Cooler, # D13950
The ports on the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, # D13950, do not need to be mounted in any particular direction. The transmission cooler is not directional so having the inlet on the top or bottom does not matter. You will want to choose the inlet or outlet port location by what will make your installation easier. Since this cooler comes with a fan-mounted heat exchanger you can mount the exchanger wherever you want because the fan will provide optimum airflow.

  • Where to Install the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 on a Truck
What's great about a remote cooler with a fan like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 that you referenced is that it can basically install wherever it will fit since the fan will provide all of the necessary airflow to cool the fluid. Here is what Derale says about mounting location for this cooler: The purpose of a remote mount cooler is to be able to mount the cooler away from the front of the vehicle therefore not blocking airflow to the radiator/condenser....

You will also want to use the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035, so you do not need to flare lines for installation. As far as functionality there isn't one place that is really better than another for the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 on a 2017 Nissan Armada. Basically anywhere there is space for it will be a good location. On modern vehicles space in the engine compartment can be at a premium though so you will want to check ahead of time prior to installing a cooler. The best transmission cooler for your 2012 Chevy Silverado is going to be the largest one that fits. A unit with a fan will give your truck optimum cooling power, but you do need to measure to ensure that you have enough room for this type of cooler to fit because a unit with a fan will take up more room. For example, the Derale 16-Pass Electra-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D15900 measures 15-3/4" wide x 11-1/2 " tall x 5" deep so you would need to find that amount of space under...

But, when a leak like what you are describing does happen, the options are to bypass the factory cooler and plug the radiator so it does not continue to leak, or replace the radiator. • How to Determine Which is the Return Line on the Factory Transmission Cooler of 2006 Chevy Equinox
I can tell you an easy way to figure out which line is the return line and which is the feed line on the transmission cooler of your 2006 Chevy Equinox. When your car is cold go out and start it up and put it in drive for 10 seconds. Now put it back in park and shut it off. Go out and feel both coolant lines, the cooler of the two is the return line. That said if the reason you are asking this is to determine how much fluid needs to be added to the system in order to account for the increased fluid capacity, I would say around 1/4-1/2 quart but this will vary mostly based on the length of line used so it is best to check and then add as needed.
