Derale Transmission Coolers - D13950

12-3/4" Wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep, remote cooler assembly features a high-efficiency, plate-and-fin heat-exchanger core with 500-CFM tornado fan for maximum airflow, ensuring optimum performance for your automatic transmission.

  • Offers superior airflow with 500-CFM, reversible tornado fan
  • Mounts anywhere with aluminum mounting brackets

    • Aluminum AN fittings
    • Brass hose-barb adapters

    • Insta-dapt radiator adapter
    • All necessary mounting hardware
  • Made in USA

Specs:

  • Inlets: -6 AN
  • Adapters: -6 AN x 3/8" hose barb
  • Overall dimensions: 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep
  • Distance between inlets: 8-9/16"
  • Mounting dimensions: 4" tall x 11-5/8" wide
  • 1-Year warranty

Note: The Derale Insta-dapt radiator adapter fits most vehicles with 5/16" transmission lines, but not all. In some cases, additional fittings or alteration of the OEM lines or hoses may be required for installation.

With a fan-mounted heat exchanger unit, you can be sure that there will always be optimum airflow for your engine oil cooler no matter where your cooler is mounted or what sort of environment you are traveling through. Couple that with the highly efficient, plate-fin core - wherein finned chambers provide increased surface area, allowing superior heat transfer with minimum pressure drop - and you have a truly effective heat-exchange system.

This system is ideal for late-model, electronic overdrive transmissions in which ensuring proper cooling and pressure maintenance is of the utmost importance.

Review from a similar Derale Atomic-Cool in Transmission Coolers

This is a good cooler however on a 4 wheel drive avalanche it's a challenge to get it installed in a position that will work with all of that equipment under there. I pinched the oring a little bit and it's leaking very slightly. On the next oil change I'll replace the oring, other than that this cooler works great. 479466

Review from a similar Derale Atomic-Cool in Transmission Coolers

Oil cooler works great, Only thing that I have an issue with is I can not use my stock oil filter with it. I have a 1992 Chevy K3500 with a 454 tonawanda 7.4 liter. In the instructions it is telling me to use a filter that is for a 350 or a 5.6 liter. But I was told by Derale that I should have no issues at all. 387448

  • Where is the Best Place to Install a Remote Transmission Cooler on a 2017 Nissan Armada
  • As far as functionality there isn't one place that is really better than another for the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 on a 2017 Nissan Armada. Basically anywhere there is space for it will be a good location. On modern vehicles space in the engine compartment can be at a premium though so you will want to check ahead of time prior to installing a cooler. This cooler is 12-3/4" wide x 9-3/8" tall x 4-5/16" deep overall. The width and height probably won't...

  • Stacked-Plate Transmission Cooler for 2018 GMC Acadia SLT with V6
  • Transmission and oil coolers are not vehicle-specific; you can essentially install any one for which you have the space available to install it. When it comes to coolers bigger is better. And if you want the best cooling even at lower speeds, such as when driving in mountainous areas, you might consider a remote-mount fan-powered cooler like the Derale Atomic Cool # D13950, an efficient plate-fin type cooler that will lower your transmission temperature even at low speeds since it does...

  • When you install the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan # D13950 that you referenced you can either replace your current cooler or you can install this one after the factory cooler so that you get the cooling power of both. The most common and recommended method would be to put this cooler down stream of your factory cooler so that is what I would recommend for you. All you would need is the cooler and the fitting part # D13035 and you would be good to go. The...

  • Will a Derale Transmission Cooler Kit D13503 Work on a 2006 Nissan Titan Towing a 5th Wheel Trailer
  • The Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit, item # D13503, will provide extra cooling to help keep your transmission at normal temperatures when towing. Whether or not any cooler will provide enough cooling depends on many factors specifically related to your vehicle and trailer setup. I did a bit of checking on the 2006 Nissan Titan towing capacities and found that the 2006 Titan is rated for somewhere between 9,200 lbs and 9,500 lbs Gross trailer weight, properly loaded...

As long as you have room to install a Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler, then it will work with your truck. These would be very good coolers for your application because they are high efficiency coolers with 500-CFM tornado fans. • Where to Install the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 on a Truck
  • What's great about a remote cooler with a fan like the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit # D13950 that you referenced is that it can basically install wherever it will fit since the fan will provide all of the necessary airflow to cool the fluid. Here is what Derale says about mounting location for this cooler: The purpose of a remote mount cooler is to be able to mount the cooler away from the front of the vehicle therefore not blocking airflow to the radiator/condenser....

You will also want to use the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035, so you do not need to flare lines for installation. • Do Inlet And Outlet Ports Need To Be Mounted In A Particular Direction On Derale Cooler, # D13950
  • The ports on the Derale Atomic-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, # D13950, do not need to be mounted in any particular direction. The transmission cooler is not directional so having the inlet on the top or bottom does not matter. You will want to choose the inlet or outlet port location by what will make your installation easier. Since this cooler comes with a fan-mounted heat exchanger you can mount the exchanger wherever you want because the fan will provide optimum airflow.

Mounting a larger cooler directly behind the grille (in front of everything else) such as # D13504 should get you to the ideal range. You would see a noticeable reduction in transmission fluid temps. You also would want to install this after the factory cooler to get maximum gains.

  • How to Determine Which is the Return Line on the Factory Transmission Cooler of 2006 Chevy Equinox

When your car is cold go out and start it up and put it in drive for 10 seconds. Now put it back in park and shut it off. Go out and feel both coolant lines, the cooler of the two is the return line.
