If you like a setup that looks clean when you’re not towing, this kit delivers. The tabless design keeps the front end free of bulky crossbars or brackets, and the attachment tabs stay on your tow bar instead of the vehicle. When you’re done towing, snap in the high-density polyethylene receiver covers to keep dirt and debris out so the arms slide in and out easily next time. The result is a seamless look with nothing sticking out from the bumper.
Connecting your tow bar takes just a few steps. Each arm slides into the base plate receivers, twists to lock, and secures with the included pull pin for extra safety. When it’s time to detach, pull the pin, twist, and remove the arm—simple and reliable every time. With a bracket distance of 19-1/2" center to center and a bracket height of 18", it’s easy to plan your setup around these measurements for a level connection.
This sturdy, bolt-on base plate spreads towing force evenly across the chassis to reduce strain on your suspension. The precision-fit steel plates stay solid mile after mile without welding or fabrication required. Many owners mention that once bolted up, it feels like part of the frame—strong, stable, and ready for long hauls.
If you already have a tow bar you like, chances are it’ll work here. This base plate connects directly with Demco, etrailer, Blue Ox, and Curt Rambler tow bars without an adapter. For Roadmaster setups, just add the proper adapter—DM9523036, DM9523062, DM9523014, or DM9523023 (sold separately)—and you’re good to go. An included electrical bracket makes it easy to mount a round plug up front so your wiring stays neat and ready to use.
If you’re comfortable turning wrenches, this install is very doable at home. It bolts securely to the chassis with no welding required and comes with all necessary hardware and clear instructions. Strong and good looking base plate for my Jeep JL. Not very noticable when not in use. Straight forward installation for most diy with basic mechanical knowledge.
Awesome install. The things you think would be easy (washers taped to frame, e.g.) turned out to be the toughest. The added benefit now that the DM9519336 has tabs that work with the Blue Ox Tow Bar was a wonderful surprise.
It’s been a year and about 5,000 miles of our JLU playing follow the leader with our Tiffin motorhome. No issues, great finish, looking forward to another season of roughing it smoothly, Jeep in tow! Great instructions made for a great self-install.
The base plate works great. Took me longer to install, due to doing it outside lawing on the ground. The safety cables seem to lay on cables, brake lines and lines to trans cooler when wrapped around front end. It is easier to hook and unhook my jeep than the original attachment arms. Thanks

Democrats base plate was the only one available 1 yr ago to fit the 2020 Gladiator. It works great.

I think the quality of the base plate is excellent. Value was good especially for quality of the product. My only reason for reducing one star was the instructions. The instructions were not very clear and I had to remove the bumper after initial install to attach the air deflector that was required to be cut/modified. This was not clear in the instructions and caused me to spend more time and headache than needed as the bumper bolts are difficult to get to and remove.
I was very pleased with the service I received from Karl. The equipment was very well made. It seems the Demco baseplate and wiring kit are superior to the Blue Ox I’ve used in the past. Thanks for your service and products.
The reinstall kit for the SMI stay and play duo braking system was exactly what I needed we removed it out of a 2012 Cadillac SRX and a RV shop will be installing it in a 2020 Jeep Wrangler I will send pics of the final installation later on this month ! Great product was delivered with all parts needed in three days and as usual great customer service !
Installation was fairly straightforward and the directions easy to follow. A great product.

Man it just blends right in and looks like it came that way :) What model Jeep is this? Been able to take it with you on any recent trips lately?
I recently completed a DIY installation of the Demco Tabless Base Plate on my 2021 Jeep Wrangler. Installation is fairly straightforward following the etrailer.com videos. A couple gotchas on the videos.
First, one of the videos suggests removing a sheet metal plate to provide easier access. While it does make for easier access during removal of the bumper, you should reinstall it BEFORE installing the base plate. If you install the baseplate first, there is insufficient clearance for the bolts that hold the sheet metal plate.
Second, the videos show reinstalling the plastic air dam after reinstalling the bumper. At least on my 2021 Wrangler there is NO way you could do that without seriously bending, and possibly breaking the plastic dam. Reattach the dam to the bumper BEFORE reattaching the bumper. Clearances for rebolting the bumper are sufficient. I did it without a lift (thank goodness for the Wrangler’s high ground clearance).
Bottom line is it’s a bit of a project but looks great.
So, I have had this for a year now and have only used it once. But it worked very well. Easy to install and easy to hook up.
Relatively easy to install, works great, less obtrusive than other brands. Instructions are clear, quality is good. Shown with knuckles removed. As you can see, I had to improvise to mount the coiled cord socket and breakaway switch.

Still pleased with this baseplate. Weve towed the Wrangler 10,000 miles with this setup and never had a problem.
Great product, great finish, installation went great. Not happy about cutting holes in my air dam, but it hides it nice. Only complaint is I think the template to cut the holes out needs to be adjusted. I’m sure I placed them correctly and they are tight against one side and a big gap on the other. I’ve included pictures.
Quality product with fast free shipping. Although it arrived with damage to the box from the baseplate moving around during shipping, there was no damage to the baseplate itself. Installed relatively easily according to the instructions.
Order was shipped and received timely. Both products purchased look to be well made. Haven’t installed yet currently using a demco set up on a 2001 Cherokee sport. Up graded to a 2020 wrangler needing a new base plate and lighting. Eager to install on the new buggy!
Just installed the Demco Tabless Base Plate and included 6 pin wire bracket. It was very straightforward and anyone who is a little mechanically inclined, can do it with ease. The etrailer video was incredibly helpful. I followed it step by step and had no issues. I love that it is a direct bolt-to-frame base plate and does not need any modifications. I spent a bit more time cutting out the gravel guard to form-fit the tabless connectors. The adapters are sleek and blend right in to the front end. Love how it turned out.

Another year and another 6,000 miles of safe towing. This year got cut off on NJ Turnpike and forced to go trough New Pothole City. One probably 6” rattled everything and nearly blew a tire - Jeep was fine…
