Video Transcript for Redline Tires and Wheels 7-150 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the replacement drive-in trailer hub wheel stud, 1/2" diameter, 2-3/32 in length, and a quantity of one. This 1/2" stud, it's designed to replace a damaged wheel stud on your trailer hub, the raised spline portion of the stud right here is what'll be driven or pressed into your trailer hub, and this stud is what'll go through the bolt hole on your trailer wheel when you put your wheels on your trailer, and it's when used with a wheel lug nut that it'll hold your tire and wheel to your axle. These are grade 8 bolts, they are stamped on the head. Again, the thread size diameter is 1/2", it's 20 threads per inch, and they use standard 1/2" by 20 lug nuts. I did happen to pull one from our warehouse, this 1/2" by 20 lug nut, and you'll see that when this is on your trailer hub, you put your wheel up on the stud and then put your lug nut on, and then torque your lug nut down to the correct specs. That will hold your tire and wheel to your axle. Give you a few measurements on this. The overall length will be measured from the bottom of the head to the end of the bolt, that's going to be right at 2-3/32. The threaded portion, if we measure that length, is going to be right at 1-5/8", and the spline diameter, this is the portion that gets pressed into your trailer hub, the diameter of the splines is .61". That should do it for the review on the replacement drive-in trailer hub wheel stud, 1/2" diameter, 2-3/32 in length and a quantity of one..

After getting very helpful responses from etrailer staff, I ordered this replacement lug bolt. Had a very hard time finding ones that were close to an exact match to what was originally on my trailer. The received parts arrived and were exactly what was expected. Appreciate all the good help from the staff at etrailer!

I'm rebuilding my boat trailer and deeded new leaf springs u bolts brackets and tires and wheels. Miranda assisted me in finding all the right parts. She knows her stuff.
All the parts fit perfectly and the trailer is back on the road.

you had what I needed and as in the past it was shipped fast . No problems

These worked great to increase length so I could fit wider wheels on to my trailer (witht he help of wheel spacers)

Upgraded boat winch arrived in a timely manner, The Dutton Lainson winch model DL14825 quality is much better than my current winch. Will definitely be a return customer and recommend etrailer to my friends.

  • Replacement Wheel Stud Recommendation for 10 inch UFP Rotor
I looked up what studs your UFP 10 inch hub/rotors should have and the the studs part # 7-150 will work as a replacement. The spline diameter is .61 inch and overall is 2-1/4 inches so this would be a match. The diameter is also 1/2 inch like you'd need too.

  • Measurements of Base on 1/2" Hub Wheel Stud # 7-150
I took a trip out to the warehouse with a digital caliper to take the measurements you were looking for regarding Trailer Hub Wheel Stud, Drive-In, 1/2" x 2-3/32" # 7-150. I found that the base measured 0.16 inches thick and the diameter was 0.75 inches. I also made a photo for you which shows these measurements that should be helpful.

  • Trailer Hub Wheel Stud to Replace 1/2"-20 x 2-1/4 Dexter Wheel Studs
At 2.09375 inches long trailer hub wheel stud # 7-150 is a little shorter than the 2-1/4 inch ones that you have but it is the same Dexter part just with a different number. It would appear that Dexter measured overall length whereas the 2-3/32 inch measurement we show doesn't include the head.

  • Size Hole to Drill for Installing Wheel Stud 7-150
Typically you want to go with a hole size that is between .02 and .07 of an inch smaller than the knurl diameter. So in the case of the # 7-150 you would want to use a drill that is between .59 and .54 of an inch.

  • Corrosion Resistant Version of Wheel Stud # 7-122
We have the part # 7-150 which is just a tiny bit longer by 3/32 of an inch but aside from that matches the # 7-122 but is galvanized.

  • Can Wheel Studs Be Installed in Trailer Hub That Uses Wheel Bolts
If your current hubs use lug bolts as opposed to lug nuts, you'll need to continue to use lug bolts. If you're wanting to switch to a hub that uses studs and lug nuts, it might be possible. If you could reply with the lug bolt pattern (number of lugs and diameter of bolt circle) and provide the reference numbers from your inner and outer bearings and inner diameter of your grease seal, I might be able to find you a replacement hub that uses studs and lug nuts. If you cannot read the reference...

  • Replacement Drive-In Wheel Studs with 1/2-Inch Diameter and 1-3/4-Inch Length
The number 45264 that you found on your hubs is likely a casting number rather than a part number. I was not able to cross-reference that to any parts we offer. But at right you will find a link to all of our drive-in wheel studs with 1/2-inch diameter, such as the Redline # 7-150 On each page you will find a diagram with the studs dimensions. This should help you match up to what you need for your hubs. Yes, it is likely that the used stud's dimensions will be different than those for...

  • Replacement Wheel Stud For Trailer Hub HD42866
The Trailer Hub Wheel Stud # 7-150 appears to be the wheel stud that you are looking for. It is a 1/2" wheel stud that measures 2-3/32" long which sounds like it matches what you currently have. To be 100% certain you can compare the measurements on this stud to yours. See photo below.

  • Are there Stainless Steel Wheel Studs for Trailers
There probably are some stainless steel wheel studs out there somewhere but all the ones we have are either zinc-coated steel or painted steel. If you are having a corrosion problem you might want to consider some thread sealant # LT37482. It will help prevent the treated threads from corroding.

  • Replacement 1/2"-20 Wheel Stud for a Load Rite Boat Trailer
In order to replace the broken wheel stud on your Load Rite boat trailer, I recommend using the Trailer Hub Wheel Stud part # 7-122 for a 2" long stud or the Trailer Hub Wheel Stud part # 7-150 for a 2-3/32" long stud. You can measure your remaining studs to determine the correct length. The dimension for each of these replacement wheel studs can be found on the product page. If you also need a new lug nut then you will want to use the CE Smith Trailer Wheel Lug Nut part # CE11051 for...

  • Hitch Recommendation for a 2015 Honda CR-Z
The Curt Hitch part # C11077 that you referenced has been confirmed to fit your 2015 Honda CR-Z so I would recommend it for you. For a ball mount you would want the # C45520, and then for hitch balls # 19256 and # 19258.

  • Trailer Hub Wheel Studs Are Too Large to Fit in Hub
On wheel stud # RG03-040 the threaded part is 1/2 inch. The larger part (spline) is larger because it has to be a tight fit in the hub. You have to drive it in from the back of the hub. Once it is in it should not come out unless driven out with the proper tools. If the spline is too large to even drive in you could go with something slightly smaller like # K12WB169. The spline on it is just over half an inch (0.545 inches). You also have to make sure you get the proper length. A stud...
