Video Transcript for Redline Tires and Wheels RG03-080 Review

Today we're going to take a look at the replacement drive-in trailer hub wheel studs. This is for a quantity of four. They are half inch by two and a half inch size. These half inch studs are designed to replace the damaged studs on your trailers wheel hub. The raised splined end portion right here of this part is what will be driven or pressed into your trailer hub. It holds them into place.

The stud is what goes through the bolt hole on your trailer wheel, and when used with a wheel lug nut, will hold the tire and wheel to your axle. These are grade A bolts. The thread size end is a half inch diameter and twenty threads per inch and they do use a standard half inch by twenty lug nuts. I happened to pull one of those standards half inch lug nuts and you can see they're designed to just tighten onto the end there. I do want to give you a few dimensions on these. The overall length, which is measured from right under here to the very end of the threaded portion, that's your two and a half inches. The thread length portion is right at one and a quarter inches.

That should do it for the review on the replacement drive-in trailer hub wheel studs, half inch by two and a half inch in size and a quantity of four of them.

These lugs worked perfectly for my axle. I needed longer lugs because of an alignment issue that required a wheel spacer to correct. 602331

We have made several camping trips ao far with no issues. None of the wheel lugs have required re-tightening.

  • How Do I Know What Wheel Studs and Lugs I Need for Older Pull Behind Trailer
In order to determine which wheel studs and lugs that you will need, we will need some measurements from your current studs. I have attached a diagram and will need to at least have the measurements for A, C, and E. You will want to use a dial or digital caliper because precise measurements are needed. If you do not have one, they can usually be purchased or borrowed from a local hardware or auto parts store. I have attached a link to all of the drive-in wheel studs that we have available....

  • Wheel Stud Recommendation to Fit Dexter 7,000 lb Hubs
Dexter 7,000 lb axle hubs come with either 1/2 inch wheel studs like the part # RG03-080 that you referenced or 9/16 inch diameter studs like the # 7-257. You'd need to measure what you have to know for certain.

  • What are the Dimensions of Replacement Trailer Hub Wheel Studs # RG03-080
The pictures for wheel stud set # RG03-080 are more of a typical photo. The actual design is the same as # 165995. I pulled a set from the warehouse to be sure and they are indeed like # 165995.

  • What Does the Replacement Trailer Hub Wheel Stud Set RG03-080 Look Like
I have included a picture that shows what the replacement wheel studs # RG03-080 look like. These studs went through a design change so a couple of the pictures are the old ones. The C and D measurements cannot be equal though since C is part of the D measurement. C will always be less than D.

  • Which Lug Nut Fits a Drive In Wheel Stud # RG03-080
The wheel stud, # RG03-080, accepts a 1/2 inch lug nut. A standard lug nut has a 60 degree cone like # CE11051. When choosing a replacement wheel stud, you will have to go by the measurements of the stud. You can compare the measurements provided on the product pages for wheel studs, like # RG03-080, to your existing studs to determine if there is a correct match. You will need to drive out a stud to measure it accurately. I have included a link to all the drive in wheel studs we carry....

  • Info Needed to Pick Out Wheel Studs of 2014 Palomino Columbus 320RS Fifth Wheel
We don't have a way to look up the wheel studs your trailer would have so you'd have to measure what you have and get back to me. The diameter and length of the wheel stud will be needed. Using a digital calipers like # PTW80157 can help you find these measurements. I have attached a link that will take you to our page that has all of our wheel studs. When you find the correct size you need you can pick out what you will need from this page.

  • Longer Wheel Stubs to Fit a Shorlander Boat Trailer Hub and Aluminum Wheels
The longest 1/2 inch drive-in studs that we have are # RG03-080 which is a set of 4 and they are 2-1/2 inches long. For a longer lug nut that is 1/2"-20 threaded you can use # AM90070. If the studs are not long enough or don't have the right dimensions where they fit in the hub (see specs on product page) you might have to go through Shorlandr.

  • How Long Do My Lug Studs Need to be on Dexter 2200-lbs Axles
I'll start by saying that without knowing which hubs are on those axles, it's tough to know exactly which lug studs are on them, but I was able to research and determine that the studs are normally 1.8" long. Taking this into consideration, you're going to need studs that are at least 2.3" long to make up for the added space between the hub face and wheels. The Kodiak Wheel Bolts # K12WB2 are only 2" long, so these are not going to be sufficiently long enough. I recommend using the...
