Question:
I have a dexler hub which I thought had 1/2 bolts but looking at the ones I received I noticed they are too thick on the head. The bolt is the right diameter but the top is smaller to fit in the hub hole. The replacement bolts say BYinch on the top but the ones that came off say V. Any Idea? Part RG03-040 is too large on top.

Expert Reply:
On wheel stud # RG03-040 the threaded part is 1/2 inch. The larger part (spline) is larger because it has to be a tight fit in the hub. You have to drive it in from the back of the hub. Once it is in it should not come out unless driven out with the proper tools.
If the spline is too large to even drive in you could go with something slightly smaller like # K12WB169. The spline on it is just over half an inch (0.545 inches). You also have to make sure you get the proper length. A stud that is a little longer than the originals is going to be better than having them too short.
Wheel stud # K12WB169 measure 1-11/16 inches long. This is about 1/8 of an inch shorter than # RG03-040.
For hub # 84545BX that you referenced one of the correct wheel studs you can use is # 7-150.
