So far the trans cooler has been working well. I also used the adapters. Both products are doing well after 1500 miles or so and many hills, mountains, and trailering.

100 happy with the trans cooler and adapter set. Temp stays nice and cool. Puts me at ease when towing my trailer.

by:

worked great doing the job it is designed for

Great cooler upgrade for my 1997 GMC Yukon! Little delivery damage, but was so easy to bend those fins back to original shape so no worries!
Nice that you had proper dimension measurements online, so it was easy to figure out what kind I can fit in my truck. Complete kit had everything I needed to get it done!
Modified old cooler bracket little bit and that was it. Works great!

by:

Will make the installation of the trans cooler easier

by:

Got those radiator fitting male an female for my 97 Chevrolet ,worked perfect d13018 made easy job out of hooking up my trans cooler ! A must have .just wish I had got my trans cooler from etrailer they are a great company .so if you gonna put a trans cooler own you GM truck take my word for it you best go to trailer! Won't be sorry, thanks

by:

Have I gotten my refund for trans cooler fittings that weren't needed? 1994 k1500 trans cooler is working great.

by:

Very handy for unique installations fo transmission coolers

by:

It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed.
Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise...

Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter.

So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter.

by:

Worked out great for installing the extra trans cooler.

by:

Pro help online to order. Trans cooler shipped right away.
Installed and working perfectly.

by:

Worked just as needed

by:

Exact fit for my 2000 Chevy Silverado. What a time saver. I am glad that etrailer suggested these.

by:

The adapter fitting did not fit my 2008 GMC Sierra 1500 w/ 5.3 liter engine and factory trailer package.

by:

These fittings made connecting the hoses to the steel transmission lines very easy - glad I bought them! I recommend getting them.

by:

I purchased these fittings thinking these would fit my GM product. NOT.......These are 3/8 and looks like the fit the truck series only as stated on the package. Be aware

by:

Great buying experience, will definitely be a go to company for future purchases

  • Installing A Transmission Cooler On A 2007 Chevy Express 3500 6.0L Roadtrek Conversion Van
To determine what kind of transmission cooler you will need depends on how much weight you will be towing and where you will be towing. Also, you will also want to measure the area in front of the AC condenser to see what size cooler will fit on your 2007 Chevy. I am sending a link to a FAQ page that will give you information on transmission coolers. The GTW rating is the Gross Towing Weight capacity. This is the weight of the trailer, including the load in the trailer. This will help...

  • Fitting Adapter Needed to Install Remote Derale Transmission Cooler in 2004 Chevy Silverado
The correct fitting for installing a Derale transmission cooler in your 2004 Chevy Silverado is the part # D13018 to install the Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler # D13960. This cooler has a thermostat as well. You would want to route this from your current radiator's transmission cooler so that it goes through the factory cooler and then finally to this cooler. That is what the fitting allows you to easily do.

  • Recommended Supplementary Transmission Cooler for 2009 GMC Yukon XL 32-Foot Travel Trailer
Transmission fluid cannot be over-cooled and you are making a good investment in the long-term care for your 2009 GMC Yukon XL Denali by adding a supplementary transmission cooler for your summer towing to further cool your transmission over and above the cooling provided by the external cooler you already have. When it comes to transmission coolers, I recommend choosing the largest transmission cooler that will fit into the available space. The ideal place to install a transmission cooler...

The fittings needed to install the Derale Transmission Cooler, part # D13504 on your 2002 GMC Sierra 1500 with the 5.3L engine are part # D13018. These are 5/8 inch inverted flare fittings designed to work specifically for your Sierra radiator, and require no cutting or flaring lines.

  • Is Additional Transmission Cooler Needed On 2004 GMC Sierra When Towing A Long Distance
If you have a transmission cooler already installed on your 2004 GMC Sierra 1500, it may be enough to handle the long journey you said you are planning on taking. My first recommendation would be to install temperature gauges for your oil and also for the transmission fluid. Then hook your trailer up and drive it to find out exactly how it is doing. I recommend the Derale Temperature Gauge, part # D13009. I would recommend one for the oil temp and one for the transmission oil temp. If...

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2007 Chevy Silverado, 4.3L, V6
The most popular transmission cooler for a 2007 Chevy Silverado (New or Classic) with the 4.3 liter is cooler # D13503. This cooler measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep. It is rated as a Class III which is what is recommended for vehicles with Class III trailer hitches. Metal lines are not an option but you could replace the rubber hose with metal lines obtained locally. However metal dissipates heat more quickly and easily than rubber so it might end up working...

  • Weight Distribution System for 8000 lb Boat/Trailer w/ Surge Coupler Towed by 2004 Chevy Avalanche
As a starting point, I would recommend finding the exact as-towed weight and tongue weight of the boat and trailer. This is an important consideration in choosing a weight distribution system, as well as determining if you are exceeding the towing capacity of the Avalanche. According to my research, the towing capacity varied from 7100 up to 12000 lbs depending on how the truck was equipped. Exceeding the manufacturer stated towing capacity is not recommended. On your 2004 Chevy Blazer the upper connection is from the trans, (hot). The lower connection goes back to the trans, (cooled). The lower line is the return line and the one you want to install a cooler on. For a transmission cooler the Derale part # D13503 would be a fantastic option. It measure 11" Wide x 8-3/4" tall x 7/8" deep and is a plate fin style cooler which is very efficient. The correct adapter fitting you'll want to use is the part # D13018. • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for a 2003 Cadillac CTS
When it comes to picking out a transmission cooler for a vehicle there is not a list of confirmed coolers that will fit different vehicles. The best way to pick one out is to measure the area in front of your radiator and pick a cooler that will fit in that area. If you have the room I think a Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13502 should work well to cool the transmission fluid of your 2003 Cadillac CTS. • Transmission Cooler for a GM K3500 Pickup Truck with a 6.5 Liter Diesel
We generally recommend going with the largest cooler that will fit in the space available in the engine compartment. The Most popular cooler for the K series with the 6.5 liter is # D13503 that you have referenced. It measures 11 inches wide, 8-3/4 inches tall, and 7/8 inches deep. You can get more cooling efficiency using a stacked plate cooler. I would go with # D13403. Even though it is smaller the stacked plate design is more efficient so it is rated higher than the plate fin coolers. You...

You cannot over cool a transmission. The ideal install location would be in front of the radiator and A/C condenser, right behind the grille. • Preventing Leaks When Installing Derale # 15718 Engine Oil Filter Relocation Kit
I spoke with my contact at Derale and they provided some very useful information. They said you do not want to use a liquid sealant of any type because it acts as a lubricant when first applied and would actually allow you to over tighten the fittings causing leaks. They suggest using a thread tape and tightening to approximately 8 to 10 ft lbs. Although the suggestion to hand tighten and then turn an additional 1/4 turn may work, the term hand tighten would be different for everyone.
