It looks like from reading the matierl if one is using the cooler in series with the factory cooler this adapter is not needed. Thus I would like to return, but I fear the shipping cost will not make sense, dollar wise... Thus the recommendation should state if you are adding a cooler to your system where one does not already exist, then you'll need this adapter. So if your adding to an already existing system, you do not need the adapter. 23007

  • Transmission Cooler and Fitting Adapter Recommendation for a 2015 Chevy Silverado 4.3 Liter
Actually the hose fitting for installing a transmission cooler in your 2015 Chevy Silverado is the part # D13035 and not the # D13018 that you referenced. A popular cooler for your vehicle is the part # D13503.

  • How are the Derale Adapter Fittings # D13018 Installed and Used to Install a Transmission Cooler
The male end of the Derale Radiator Adapter part # D13018 that you referenced does thread into the outlet side of the factory cooler in your radiator. The female side of this adapter would thread onto the male side of the coolant line that you removed from the factory cooler. I realize that's probably hard to visualize so I attached a diagram that shows how both sides of the adapter are used. I also attached an FAQ article on transmission coolers, plus a video of one being installed....

  • Transmission Cooler Recommendation for 2011 Chevy Silverado
You are a little on the warm side for your transmission fluid. If you can keep it under 200 degrees you will have the max life out of it. That being said transmissions really start to go downhill at 260 degrees. The Derale cooler part # D13503 with the install fitting part # D13018 is the most popular option for your 2011 Chevy Silverado 1500 and would work well. I attached an install video that shows the cooler installed in a similar GM vehicle.

  • How Does Derale Radiator Fitting for Transmission Coolers Install on a 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 Liter
The Derale transmission cooler fitting # D13018 is listed as a fit for your 2002 Chevy S10 2.2 liter. The fittings thread onto steel transmission lines and in the radiator so you will not have to flare the lines. I included a picture that illustrates this.

  • Correct Transmission Line Fittings to Install Transmission Cooler on 2009 Chevy Traverse
According to Derale, the correct fitting to install the D13504 cooler in your 2009 Traverse would be part # D13035, if the return transmission line is attached to the radiator using an E-clip. You would need two of them. If the connection does not use an E-clip, you would need to use a compression fitting. The correct fitting will depend on the outside diameter of your transmission lines. For a 5/16 inch line use part # D13031, for a 3/8 inch line use # D13032 and for 1/2 inch line use...

The three types are the fittings that were used are the fitting supplied with the cooler, a snap in style fitting, item # D13035, and the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM, item # D13018. I believe the last style of fitting is the fitting your truck will need....

When it comes to picking out a transmission cooler for a vehicle there is not a list of confirmed coolers that will fit different vehicles. The best way to pick one out is to measure the area in front of your radiator and pick a cooler that will fit in that area. If you have the room I think a Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit # D13502 should work well to cool the transmission fluid of your 2003 Cadillac CTS. If you are pulling a trailer under the towing capacities of your 2008 GMC Sierra 1500, the engine temperature of the truck should not overheat. I would recommend having the vehicle looked over by your GMC dealership. What I would recommend is adding a combination transmission and oil cooler, as well as a cooling fan. This will cool the transmission fluid, the engine oil, and engine. For this, I would recommend the Derale Combination Transmission and Engine Oil Cooler, part # D15903....

Instead you can use a universal fitting like part # D13031 for 5/16 inch line, # D13032 for 3/8 inch line, or # D13033 for 1/2 inch line. You will just need to take a quick measurement of the line on your 1984 Chevrolet Silverado 454 Turbo to determine which one you will need.

The best option for your 2002 Chevy Silverado with the 6.0L V8 engine is a plate fin cooler like the Derale # D13504. The plate fin style cooler helps dissipate heat better than a tube fin style and this is the largest cooler that is going to fit in your vehicle.
