This sleek and sturdy trunk-mounted rack lets you carry 3 bikes on your sedan, hatchback, or van. It has all the great features of the Bones and adds a strap management system and an expanded, arched base with dog legs that fit over large spoilers.

Note: This dual-arm rack reduces the need for a bike frame adapter bar (sold separately) to mount a children's, women's, or alternative frame bicycle. However, to mount certain bikes or to keep your bike level on the rack, a bike adapter bar may be required. Most step-through bikes, dual-suspension bikes, and small children's bikes will require a bike adapter bar.
The sleek and sturdy Bones EX lets you carry 3 bikes on the back of your vehicle. It has all the great features as the popular Bones rack and adds expanded, dog legs that allow the rack to fit over most large spoilers. It also has an integrated strap management system that keeps the tie-down straps from flapping while you are driving.
The Bones EX will fit on more types of vehicles than the Bones. It has an expanded, dog leg design on the upper 2 legs that allows the rack to fit over most spoilers.
The Bones EX has dual injection-molded plastic arms that provide excellent support for your bikes. The adjustable arms accommodate women's, children's, and alternative frame bikes and keep them level on the rack. The arms are arched to allow your bikes to hang at different heights for optimal ground clearance and to prevent your handlebars and pedals from tangling.
The adjustable arms are mounted on a horizontal tube with grooves that allow the arms or legs to lock in place. To raise or lower an arm simply slide it to the center of the horizontal tube where it's smooth, rotate arm to desired position, and slide it back along the grooves to the edge of the rack.
You can fold the arms down when the rack is not in use. This frees up space for you to park in your garage without removing the rack from your vehicle.
Rubber, anti-sway cradles with spring-loaded ratchet straps firmly grip your bike's frame at 3 points, helping to prevent front-to-back sway. This minimizes bike-to-bike and bike-to-car contact during transit.
The rack is easy to set up on your trunk or hatch. First, use the black turn knob at the end of each support leg to loosen them from their positions on the center bar. Then, slide them from their place on the integrated grooves out to the smooth section of the bar. Adjust the legs to a position that will best fit your trunk. Then slide them back over the grooves to hold them in your desired position. Use the black turn knob to tighten them down.
Place the lower padded legs above your bumper and the upper padded legs on your upper trunk or hatch. The rubber pads protect your paint and are slip-resistant to help prevent the rack from shifting during transit.
6 Extra-long nylon straps anchor the rack in place on your trunk or hatch with steel hooks. The hooks have a vinyl coating to prevent scratches and scuffs and are individually labeled to indicate where each hook should be placed for a proper install. Each strap has an easy-to-use ladder-lock buckle to tighten it in place.
There are grooves built into the legs that prevent the straps from flapping while you are driving. Simply run the straps through the grooves while you are setting the rack up on your vehicle.

This sleek and sturdy trunk-mounted rack lets you carry 3 bikes on your sedan, hatchback, or van. It has all the great features of the Bones and adds a strap management system and an expanded, arched base with dog legs that fit over large spoilers.I ordered the rack on the website after doing research and deciding that this model was the best for my HRV. It was delivered on time just as projected. I took it out of the box and it was ready to go. I mounted it on my car per the direction which was very easy and you can see it’s a very sturdy unit. I haven’t tried it with my bike yet but I have no doubt based on how it fits the car that it will work well. 636758
Great product so far! Easy to install and adjust. A little tricky to load 2 large handlebar mountain bikes and a third smaller bike, but we just turned them sideways with the front wheels taken off. We had racks on bikes which were probably the impediment. We got them on though! Love how it folds up easy for quick storage. Works great on 2014 Subaru Outback. 935019
It works! Very versatile rack that works on a lot of different vehicles so it took a little fiddling to get right, but it work great on my 2021 Civic Sport Hatch. A little “plasticy” for my tastes but fit and finish appear to be satisfactory. etrailer as usual was spot on with shipping and customer service. 934386

Sturdy and seems safe. Helps to have a second pair of hands to mount it, but otherwise very straight forward. 927996

It works great when I carry 2 bikes on the outside 2 racks. When I used the rack closest to the car to carry 3 bikes there were minor scratches. 911202
After a great deal of figuring out which frame will work for my car and me messing up I got great help from the staff. Ashley took my last call and we decided on this rack. Just got it, very sturdy and instructions are fairly easy to figure out. Can’t wait to get on the road. 882581
My colleague recommended to get this gear and it went pretty well and easy to install. 877792
The web page was very helpful in selecting the right bike rack. Very informative on installation. Great follow up on order and delivery. Plus the Saris Bones is made in the USA and shipped from a USA supplier. 873684
