Question:
I want to upgrade to a larger cooler, but I cannot find one that is listed for the 5.7L. My truck does have a stock transmission cooler. Any advice would be most appreciated. Thank you for your time and consideration

I do have transmission cooler options available for your 1998 Chevrolet K1500 with 5.7L engine. As transmission coolers are universal, they will work in your vehicle with the provided space and adapter fittings. As a general rule of thumb, you will want to choose the largest transmission cooler for the space you have available between the radiator and grill of your vehicle.
To replace or enhance your stock transmission cooler system, I recommend using the Derale Series 8000 Plate-Fin Transmission Cooler Kit w/Barb Inlets part # D13504. You will also need the adapter fitting for installation like the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM part # D13018. The kit comes with everything needed for installation minus the adapter fitting I have included for you. You can either use this cooler in addition to your factory installed cooler or use it to replace it all together.
I have also attached a review and installation video for this cooler for your viewing.
