When always-on loads drain your battery overnight, this disconnect cuts power to non-essential circuits before voltage drops too low. Adjustable voltage settings let you dial it in, so your battery stays protected and the engine still starts.
Forgotten accessories and always-on loads can keep pulling power until the battery is overly discharged or can't start the engine. This unit cuts that off by disconnecting non-essential loads before deep discharge, with selectable engage and disengage voltage levels and default settings of 10.5V or 21V for disengage and 12V or 24V for engage. In real use, it steps in before a light, fridge, or accessory circuit drains the battery past the point you wanted it to reach.
Low-voltage protection gets frustrating when a device drops power too early or waits too long to react. The programming interface lets you choose the voltage setting, and the 7-Segment display shows which setting is selected, so you can set the disconnect and reconnect behavior around how your system actually runs. On the vehicle or at the campsite, that gives you a cutoff strategy you can see and confirm instead of guessing where the unit is going to trip.
Some systems see short voltage drops during events like engine start, and an instant cutoff can create more trouble than it solves. This BatteryProtect uses a 90 second load disconnect delay, a 30 second load reconnect delay, and a 12 second alarm output delay to keep brief dips from triggering false alerts or unnecessary shutdowns. In practice, the load stays online through short disturbances and only disconnects when the voltage condition sticks around long enough to matter.
A cutoff device sits in the system full time, so switching method and standby draw matter once it's installed and forgotten. This one uses an ignition proof MOSFET design with no relays, carries an IP67 rating, and draws 1.5 mA when on and 0.6 mA when off or in low voltage shutdown. Out in the real world, you get a sealed unit that keeps watching the system without adding much of its own drain.
Choosing protection hardware gets messy when the system voltage or load demand narrows your options too much. This model automatically detects 12V and 24V systems, works across an operating voltage of 6V to 35V, and carries a 65 amps maximum continuous load current with 250 amps peak current during 30 seconds. For a setup that needs one disconnect unit to cover common system voltages and meaningful load draw, it gives you a single control point for the circuits you want shut down first.

Hi everybody, Andy here with etrailer. Let's take a quick look at this Victron Battery Protect. Now this is a smart safety switch for your battery. Its main job is to protect your battery from being drained too low, which is one of the fastest ways to shorten your battery's lifespan. This is going to work with both 12 volt and 24 volt systems automatically so you don't have to configure it for one or the other. Once installed this is going to monitor the battery voltage and it will disconnect non-essential loads if the voltage drops too far.
That way your battery doesn't get damaged by deep discharge. So this is rated for up to 65 amps of continuous current, which makes it a good fit for smaller to mid-size loads in your RV, marine, solar, and off-grid systems. Things like lighting circuits, electronics, or accessory power systems. When the battery voltage recovers, this battery protect will automatically reconnect the load. So this is gonna prevent dead batteries.
This is gonna extend your battery life. This is going to work automatically in the background. It's gonna be reliable and simple. No complicated setup. Let me go ahead and give you some measurements here just so you have a good idea of the size.
Beginning with the overall length, we're sitting pretty close to four and a quarter inches long. And then not measuring those mounting brackets, about two and five eights to two or three quarters inches long. Looking at the, what I'm calling the width about one and seven eight inches. And then the height, including the terminals here about, again, one and seven eighth inches. So if you're running a battery based system and you want peace of mind that your battery won't get accidentally drained too far, this battery protect is going to be a straightforward, proven solution for you to consider.
It does include instructions as well to guide you through the simple setup and operation. Now, we do also have a version of this that is, that you can control via Bluetooth. It's actually called a Smart Battery Protect. So that is an essentially an updated version of this unit that we have just finished looking at. It includes Bluetooth support, so you're gonna be able to program that Smart Battery Protect that you see there on your screen with the Victron Connect app on your smartphone. If you're interested in that one instead, you can take that part number that you see there on your screen, pop it in the search field of our website. That will take you to the Smart Battery Protect. You can add that to your order instead. But if you happen to have any other questions, whether it's about this or anything else that we have here at etrailer, don't hesitate to reach out. We wanna make sure that you're getting exactly what you need. Well, again, my name is Andy. Thank you for joining me.
