Hello Paul,

Definitely a good idea to keep your transmission cooled while pulling a 38' 5th wheel. I found another option that I thought would fit your needs a little better, I went ahead and reached out to my contact at Derale and he agreed. The Derale Hyper-Cool Remote Transmission Cooler Kit w/ Fan, -8 AN Inlets - Class V # D15960 is going to be your best fit. You will still need the correct adapters, you will need to double check what kind of fittings your truck has. For your standard fittings you want the Derale Radiator Adapter Fittings for GM # D13018, if your truck has the snap in fittings you will want the Derale Snap-In Radiator Adapter Fitting for GM # D13035.

Once you get things all cooled down and hit the road, please let us know what you think of the new set up. Please feel free to include a picture, I love seeing where out customers like to explore! May 2025 bring you lots of awesome adventures! From, your friends here at etrailer.

Hey Paul, how did the Derale Hyper-Cool transmission cooler work out on your Silverado when towing your fifth wheel? I'm curious if it kept your temps steady on longer pulls. Your update could make it easier for others towing heavy rigs to choose the right setup.
