This hitch is made for serious fifth-wheel towing with strength to handle up to 25,000 lbs gross towing weight and 6,250 lbs vertical load. The solid steel construction and carbide powder coat finish give it the toughness needed for long hauls with heavy trailers. It mounts securely in the bed and provides a steady, controlled connection that feels rock solid even over rougher stretches of road.
The interlocking two-piece jaw wraps fully around the king pin for complete 360-degree contact. That design cuts down on rattle and movement compared to slide-bar models, giving you a tight, quiet connection that feels stable from start to stop. It’s a safer, smoother tow with less vibration transferred into your truck or trailer.
Before you hit the road, the easy-to-see color-coded indicator shows what position the jaws are in—red for uncoupled, yellow for ready to couple, and green when you’re locked in for towing. You can check it at a glance from the side or cab without climbing into the bed. The handle locks for security with a padlock (sold separately) and resets automatically after uncoupling so it’s ready when you are.
The fully articulating torsion head self-aligns during hookup to make connecting straightforward even on uneven ground. Once connected, it helps control road shock and reduces towing noise for a more stable, quieter ride. Built-in zerk fittings make lubrication simple to keep everything moving smoothly trip after trip.
When it’s time to clear the bed, the head lifts off easily with a single pin. The one-person removal design makes it practical to take off or reinstall without special equipment. Adjustable height settings from 13" to 17" let you dial in bed rail clearance for level towing setups while keeping things convenient when switching between towing and everyday truck use.
This fifth-wheel hitch is compatible with rotating pin boxes, such as the Reese Sidewinder, Reese Revolution, and 5th Airborne Sidewinder, only when used with a wedge (sold separately).

Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at the CURT Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit for the Chevrolet and GMC trucks. Now, this is a custom fit part. It is designed to fit the 1999 to 2010 Chevrolet Silverado and GMC Sierra 1500, 2500 and 3500 models, with either the six and a half foot bed or the eight foot bed. And on a custom fit part like this, I do like to recommend for you to go to our website, use the fit guide, put in your year and model vehicle. That'll show you if this will work for your application.
Now these brackets right here, they are designed to mount beneath your truck bed to provide the attachment point for your fifth wheel rails. Now those fifth wheel rails, we do sell separately on our website. They go by part number C16104 or C16204. And just give you an idea what those rails look like, they come in a set of two, and again, they'll attach to these mounting brackets on your vehicle. This provides a custom fit by mounting to the existing holes in your vehicle's frame.
That will minimize the amount of drilling that's required to install these, and it'll cut the installation time in half when compared with universal bracket kits. If you notice, it does include all the necessary hardware to install it. It does even come with this nice extra bracket for relocation of the electrical box. And it comes with a nice set of instructions with pictures that'll describe how these parts install. The finish on these brackets is a nice black powder coat finish to resist corrosion.
And these will work with the BMW, CURT, Draw-Tite, and Husky above bed fifth wheel trailer hitches. But that should do it for the review on the CURT Custom Fifth Wheel Bracket Kit for the Chevrolet and GMC trucks..

Update I have probably put about 5000 miles of towing With this kit I have not had an issue with it still looks good no rust all the bolts are still tight

This was very difficult to install. I feel like it could have easily been designed for an easier install. All the threads were poor, and they all had to be chased with a tap & die. After getting it installed I ended up buying a 5th wheel with a gooseneck hitch - so I replaced it with a ball hitch.

1 Year later, the brackets and rails still look new. the paint hasnt chipped or faded. I interchange a 5th wheel saddle and gooseneck ball plate often and even the paint near the mounting points still looks good.
