This E16 fifth-wheel hitch is made from sturdy steel with a carbide black finish and rated for 16,000 lbs gross towing weight and 4,000 lbs vertical load. It’s strong, secure, and ready for serious towing duty. The solid construction and included base rails give you a dependable connection you can trust mile after mile.
Hooking up on uneven ground is easier with the E16’s dual-pivoting head. It moves up to 10 degrees side-to-side so the king pin slides in smoothly and locks down tight. An anti-rattle skid plate keeps things quiet and steady while you drive, cutting down on noise and movement between truck and trailer.
Once the king pin slides in, the auto-locking slide-bar jaw secures it automatically. A rear steel tension bar clamps around the king pin to reduce rattle and movement so your setup feels locked-in. You can even add a padlock (sold separately) for extra peace of mind when parked or on the road.
The included S20 non-binding slider gives you 12 inches of fore/aft travel to create clearance during slow turns. When maneuvering in tight spaces, it slides the hitch back toward the tailgate to help prevent cab-to-trailer contact. The non-binding design makes operation smooth so you can focus on driving instead of wrestling with your hitch.
Getting your trailer level is simple thanks to four height settings ranging from 14 to 17 inches. These adjustments help you fine-tune your setup for different trailers or load conditions. Once dialed in, the hitch provides a solid, even connection that makes towing smoother and more controlled.

Hey guys, this is Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be going over the CURT E16 replacement 5th wheel head. This is designed to replace your E16 5th wheel head. If you've already got one and you're wanting to replace it. If it got damage or if it's old and rusty this is gonna be a perfect fit. It's also gonna come with the replacement bracket.
If you'd like to swap out the head on the S20 which is their new slider base, you can put this in, mount it to the correct height and then put this hitch head right in the top of it. You are gonna get all the replacement parts that initially come with the kit so you'll get new hardware, new pins, a new handle, and this bracket. The best way to get this set up inside the S20 base is to set your head height with the bracket first and then set the head on top of it. Now with our new hardware, we can set the height of our hitch a lot easier than a lot of other hitches out there. A lot of 'em are gonna have to set it with the head attached but this bracket only weighs about 10 pounds so it's really easy to get it in place.
Now to get your new head in place, it's as simple as setting it on top of the bracket. And again, it will come with two new pins. And that's, I think that's kind of nice 'cause when you're replacing you know, new parts you'd like to put new hardware in too 'cause chances are these are gonna be pretty wore out. So some of the reasons why you would need to replace your 5th wheel head is if it's got a lot of rust on it it's gonna start to affect the integrity of the strength of the hitch itself. So if it's got too much rust you might think about replacing it.
If you've not been using enough grease or any grease at all this head can start to score and once it starts scoring you can't really go back 'cause it needs a smooth surface to slide on your kingpin base. Another reason is your grease gets dirty that can cause scoring. If you're not using a lube plate. There's a lot of different reasons of why you would need to replace this head. If your mechanism isn't working correctly anymore.
But it's good to know that you can just replace the head. But with that being said, a lot of people what they'll do is they'll, if they have an A16 or an E16 head and they have the traditional base but they get a new vehicle and they'd like to switch to the slider, you can keep your old head, get the slider, and then later on you can replace the head. So there's several different options and reasons of why you would need a new E16 head. Well, with all that being said, we've got it all installed it's ready to go, and it's ready for our next trip.

Installed in my 2013 f150. Everthing fit perfectly. Very pleased. It took longer than I figured because I have the plastic wheel wells on this pickup. And they dont come out easily. So worked around them.
Unfortunately it was missing a bunch of nuts, bolts and square hole washers. Called and they have been sent. I've improvised in the meantime to complete the install. Not so easy to install. Had to put the front carriage bolts upside down as I couldn't fit my hand between the frame and the bed to start the nut.
Great kit, had a hitch already and just neede the plates and brakets for the frame so this kit was perfect. nice hardware, clear instructions and fit perfect, would definately buy again
The product was very well built. It was a fairly easy install on my F-150, the only real problem was installing the front bolt of the rail it is in a tight area. Price was exceptional compared to local RV store, I like buying local but $100 dollars in savings had to buy at etrailer. Sales staff excellent and price awesome!
The brackets went on the frame with the help of included wire devices to thred the bolts through the frame existing holes. They support the rails nicely and have performed as advertised. I would buy them again.
Nice install everything fit just right. Product is everything they said instructions were clear and easy to follow. The shipping was right on time and everyone at Etrailer was very helpful I would order from them again .
Great easy to install hawever no longer own but will be buying from etrailer for next set on new truck.
Had products within 5 days and this including Saturday and Sunday. The mounting brackets match up to truck perfectly. only needed to remove the spare tire. did right on the floor of my garage. It was a two person operation getting bolts. total worth spending extra to avoid drilling in to the frame. 3 to 4 hours to complete project. that includes installing the hitch and clean up.
Installed in my 2011 F150 on level ground...no lift. Did it my self with help from my son. Is as stated.

The recommendation was a fifth wheel, then she suggested the curt with 360 swivel and cushioned. I have been greatly pleased with this setup.

I have been using this hitch for a year now. Very easy smooth operation. There is a little noise when towing, but after I added some grease, It has been a pretty quiet hitch. Easy installation with the large brackets and very solid.
Installed in 2013 F-150 61/2 ft bed. Everything fit as it should. Directions were pretty straight forward. Have a long handled 3/4 open or box end wrench on hand. No room for ratchet . Lightly tape front nuts and spacers together and slide under bolt and start threads from above. They are carriage bolts but long enough to start threads. You'll see what I mean. All parts included, frame brackets fit perfectly. Very satisfied with Curt c16441-204 fifth wheel installation kit and etrailer. I've dealt with etrailer before and never had a problem.
Order arrived very quickly. Package and contents in great shape. Have not installed as of yet because still waiting on the ORDERED NEW Truck. Have test fitted to another like vehicle and see no problems. Have also test fitted my older Reese 14K 5th wheel hitch to the Curt rails, again no problems. Appear identical except for 3 additional holes in each base rail as compared to the original Reese rails. Have ordered from etrailer.com before and always satisfied with there products, service, quality, timeliness, and more.

The instructions were spot on and the install was straight forward. I had to get a little creative to tighten some of the bolts because of clearance issues but other than that it went well
