Trying to find the towing capacity for a Ford F-150 XLT Supercrew 2wd with a 3.5Ti VCT, Wheel base 145, Short

The 5th wheel towing capacity for your 2017 Ford F-150 which can be different than the bumper pull towing capacity is 4,900 lbs if you have the 3.55 axle ratio or 7,200 lbs if you have the 3.73 axle ratio. If you do not know what axle ratio you have first check the glove box for a sticker that lists this or call the dealer with your VIN.

The 4,900 lb and 7,200 lb towing capacity does not leave an abundance of choices for a 5th wheel trailer however, there are still some available that are within this range such as the Escape 5.OTA or the Jayco Eagle HT 24.5CKTS. In order to pull a 5th wheel trailer you are going to need a 5th wheel hitch like the Curt E16 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch w/ S20 Slider # C95DR if you have the 5-1/2' or 6-1/2' bed or part # RP30047 if you have an 8' bed. In addition to the 5th wheel hitch you will also need an install kit like the Reese Quick-Install Custom Installation Kit w/ Base Rails part # RP50087-58.

Please note that if you have a 5-1/2' bed then you will also need to use a rotating pin box for clearance like the Sidewinder 5th Wheel King Pin with Rotating Turret part # RP34FR. I have attached some additional videos for you to review.
