It reacts smoothly every time your truck pivots past about 10–15 degrees, gliding the head back toward the tailgate in one controlled motion so you can focus on driving instead of worrying about cab contact.
Every bit of connection strength matters when you’re towing heavy. The single-piece wraparound jaw fully surrounds the king pin for 360-degree contact, cutting down on rattling and chucking during travel. A thick 3/4" solid steel locking bar reinforces that jaw for an extra layer of security once hitched. The result is a solid, quiet ride that feels steady mile after mile.
Hooking up is easy thanks to a double-pivot head that naturally tilts front to back and side to side as it meets the pin box. Once you hit the road, three polyurethane dampeners absorb road shock and noise so bumps and dips feel more controlled. It’s a small detail that makes a big difference in comfort when you’re towing through varied terrain or long stretches of interstate.
This hitch drops right into the underbed mounting points using four receiver pucks, locking in place with turn handles and safety pins. When it’s time to reclaim the bed for other use, pull the pins, turn the handles, and lift it out in sections—the base, head, and side plates can be separated to make handling easier. Thanks for sharing your experience, Rick. I’m sorry for the hassle, that does sound frustrating. What you’re running into isn’t uncommon, as the tolerances on puck systems and 5th wheel hitches are designed to be pretty tight, which can make alignment a bit tricky. Loosening the mounting points during install is often what allows everything to settle into place more easily.

A year later….. So I took the camper out 5 times this summer. Had zero issues with the hitch. Unhooking was a little tricky for me. I would raise the camper, pull the latch on the hitch, go to pull the truck away….only for the latch to lock in again. This happened to me several times but I blame myself for lack of experience. This has become less of an issue the more I unhook from the camper. Overall I’m happy with the hitch and would recommend.
