Roller Bunks

CE Smith's roller bunks convert your boat trailer's guide-ons from bunk board style to roller style. Instead of sliding on and off your trailer's bunk boards, your boat will smoothly roll. This not only simplifies the process of loading and unloading, but it also protects your boat's hull against scratches. Mounted in a rust-resistant galvanized steel channel, the durable rubber rollers absorb road shock during trailering.

Installation

The roller bunks are pre-assembled and can be mounted directly to your existing bunk boards (mounting hardware is sold separately). If you want to replace your bunk boards and attach the roller bunks to the front and rear crossmembers of your trailer frame, use a four-pack of swivel mounting brackets (CE10003G-4 - sold separately). These brackets allow you to install the roller bunks at different heights. In addition, the brackets enable the bunks to tilt to accommodate and support boat hulls of different sizes.

Galvanized Steel

Steel parts are galvanized by being hot-dipped in zinc after they have been stamped. This creates a coating that is typically 3 mil to 5 mil thick. This thick, all-around coating allows galvanized steel products to provide years of use without rusting or corroding.

  • How To Install Roller Bunks on a Malone Watersport Trailer
In order to convert your Malone trailer from a roof rack on wheels to a full on boat trailer with roller guide-on's, I recommend using the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers part # CE27700 and CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks part # CE10003G-4. The crossbars and brackets will need to removed and then you can install the swivel brackets to the crossmembers and the bunk rollers to the swivel brackets. That said, you will still need u-bolts that match the...

  • How Many 4 Foot Long Roller Bunks for 8 Foot Long Wood Bunk
Yes, if you have 8 foot long bunks currently then you'd want to install a total of two 4 foot rollers on each bunk like what comes with the # CE27700. So you'd need a quantity of two of this part number and you'd be set.

  • Roller Bunk Recommendation for a Boat Trailer with Wood Bunks
The CE Smith Roller Bunks, # CE27700, that you referenced would be a great option for your boat trailer. These roller bunks are 4 ft long and they can be mounted directly on top of your current wood bunks. You can also use the CE Smith Mounting Brackets, # CE10003G-4, if you want to replace the wood bunks with the roller bunks. Keep in mind, these bunks have a weight capacity of 1,500 lbs, but based on your photo, I do not think you will have much of an issue with that.

  • Recommended Roller Bunks For LoadRite PWC Trailer
The CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers - 6 Rollers Each - 5' Long - 1,500 lbs - 1 Pair # CE27710 will work well for your LoadRite trailer. If you want the 4 foot option, you can use # CE27700. This will work with the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks - Galvanized Steel - Qty 4 # CE10003G-4. These brackets will follow the contours of your boat. For installing the brackets, I recommend the CE Smith U-Bolts - Galvanized - 3-13/16" Long x 3-1/16" Wide x...

  • How To Determine the Correct CE Smith Roller Bunks for a Boat Trailer
The CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers part # CE27710 are 5' long so as long as these are close to the same length of the bunk boards you have on your trailer now they will work well for you. The CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers are is offered in a 4' long version, part # CE27700. I cannot confirm fit based on the make or model of the boat/trailer unfortunately, only the length of the existing bunks.

  • Fit of Hobie Mirage Outback Kayaks on Malone MAL25FR LowBed MicroSport Trailer
The crossbars of the Malone # MAL25FR LowBed MicroSport trailer are 78 inches in length. From what I found online, the Hobie Mirage Outback kayaks are about 34 inches wide which would provide plenty of room as the bunks are width adjustable and can be moved side to side as needed. The 100 lb weight of each fully rigged kayak would fall well within the capacity of the trailer, so there'd be no worries there. As for rollers, you could use bunk rollers like # CE27700 which could be mounted...

  • Will Galvanized Bunk Rollers Rust if Always Submerged in Water
The CE Smith Roller Bunks # CE27700 are made with galvanized steel which is designed to resist rust. However, it's not 100 percent rust-proof. Over exposure to water, like keeping them submerged all the time, will speed up the process. It's impossible to say how long they'll last but the short answer is yes, they will eventually rust. One suggestion to prolong this is to build the dock in sections so that you can switch the parts that are submerged periodically. This way the parts...

  • Recommended Roller Bunks to Replace 7 Foot Bunks on Boat Trailer
I spoke with my contact at CE Smith and she stated that 5 foot roller bunks will be adequate for your 15-1/2 foot Smokercraft Alaskan, as long as the space between the cross members are 56 inches or less. If the space is more than that, the 5 foot long bunks will not be enough and you can then obtain two sets of 4 foot bunks and have them cut to size. For a 5 foot long roller bunk, I recommend the CE Smith Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers # CE27710. This is a channel-style roller bunk that...

  • Should Entire Wood Bunk be Covered with a Roller Bunk
Hey Monte, ideally your full bunks would have rollers covering them but it really comes down to how much of the bunk your boat is sitting on. If the front of the bunk isn't getting used since the hull of boats tend to angle up in the front that area wouldn't necessarily have to have rollers but adding a second set of rollers so that the boat is on the roller as much as it would be on the bunks would be most ideal.

  • CE Smith Roller Bunk - What Is Clearance From Top Of Roller To Metal Rail?
Hello Dave. In regards to the CE Smith Bunk Roller # CE27700 about half of the diameter of the roller sits above the metal rail, there is 1" (maybe 1-1/16") of clearance between the metal rail and the boat bottom when the boat is sitting on the rollers. So it sounds like your strap end fitting will fit, but just barely.

  • How To Choose the Correct Roller or Carpeted Bunk Boards for a Trailer
The size of bunk board or bunk roller you will need for your boat trailer is based off the hull size. However, generally speaking the manufacturer knows what size roller/bunk works best for the boat/trailer. Therefore I recommend using the same size that the trailer came with but it wouldn't hurt to go a bit longer if you have room. If you are switching from rollers to carpeted bunk boards then I would go longer. For the carpeted bunk board option we have part # CE27800 which are 36" long,...

I recommend using the CE Smith Bolster and Swivel Bracket Assemblies for Roller Bunks - Galvanized Steel - Qty 4 # CE10003G-4 to support it. • When Using Two Sets Of CE Smith Roller Bunks For Boat Trailers Is Weight Capacity Increased
I called my contact at CE Smith about the Roller Bunks for Boat Trailers, part # CE27700. They said since you are planning on using 4 bunks instead of 2, the rollers would have no problem with the additional 500 lbs as you described, as long as the weight is distributed evenly on the roller bunks. These roller bunks can be attached to wooden bunks or you may want to use swivel brackets like part # CE10003G-4. If you need U-bolts I recommend part # CE15283GA-4 for 4 U-bolts. For 4...

  • Recommendation For Adding Bunks or Rollers to a Calkins Boat Trailer for a 21' Boat
As far as size is concerned, you want the bunks/rollers to be at least half the length of your boat. Whether bunks or rollers are the better option really comes down to your use. If you take your boat on and off of the trailer quite a bit, then going with rollers would be a good choice. The boat will smoothly roll over the bunks which is easier and less taxing on the hull of the boat. Given the size of your boat you would need to use 3 of each product below: - CE Smith Roller Bunks for...

  • How to Reduce Rolling Friction on PWC Trailer to Allow Use of Single-Speed Hand Winch DL16003
Since the Dutton-Lainson Single Speed Hand Winch # DL16003 fits your mounting area and has the handle type you need, I suggest you consider just reducing the friction on your PWC trailer by installing roller bunks. Roller bunks like # CE27700 substantially reduce friction between the PWC and the trailer and this means the 400-lb capacity winch will have to work less hard. This not only makes your loading easier and faster but it will also extend the life of your winch by reducing its workload.

They come in 5' long sections and have 12 sets of 3 rollers.
