Hi Shawn!

I see you already placed an order for the Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit for Variable Voltage LED Tail Lights - 7-Way to 6-Way Adapter Cord # RM63MR, but I still wanted to get you an answer to your question. So here it goes.

You technically can get the Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit # RM63MR without the umbilical, but it will involve piecing everything together from scratch. I have all those parts and the needed quantities listed below:

Qty.3 of Self-Tapping Screw - 1/4" -14 x 3/4" Long - Zinc # FA1131822
Qty.3 of Ring Terminal -16-14 Gauge - 1/4" Ring ID - Qty. 1 # DW05702-1
Qty.1 of Butt Connector - PVC - for 16-14g Wire - Qty. 1 # DW05714
Qty.1 of Roadmaster 6-Wire Trailer Connector - Vehicle End # RM-910030-7
Qty.10 of 14 Gauge Primary Wire - Black - per Foot # DW07550-1
Qty.27 of 16 Gauge, 4 Conductor Bonded Parallel Wire - Per Foot # 16-4B-1
Qty.2 of Roadmaster Smart Diode for LED Tail Lights - Qty 1 # RM24DQ
Qty.1 of Roadmaster Bent Electrical Socket Bracket # RM-910030-5
Qty.1 of TowSmart Wire Loom, 1/2" Diameter, 10' Long # TS69QR
Qty.1 of Cable Ties Kit - 50 lb Tensile Strength - 11" Long - Qty 25 # DW05726-25

It's a lot of parts for sure, but this would be everything. With all that being said, this will only save you a little over $2. So basically, with the Roadmaster Smart Diode Kit # RM63MR, you get the umbilical for a little over $2. You went the right way getting the full Roadmaster kit that includes the umbilical. ^___^

What are you going to be installing this on? The base plate you ordered fit a few different Jeep models.

I recommend getting the kit with all of the parts, including the umbilical cord. As they are all designed to fit and work together. I installed the kit on a 2024 Wrangler Rubicon, and it works flawlessly. Hope this helps.

@UmbilicalC I 100% agree. When I added everything up, it really was only a little over $2 you save by piecing everything together. The whole kit and kaboodle makes the most sense! ^___^

I also recommend buying the kit together, it is designed to work that way and is way easier than piecing together components. I added this kit to my '23 Wrangler. Super easy. I did already have waterproof solderless connectors so I used mine, though the ones in the kit were just fine. What I did when completed, I added silicon gel over the connectors to make sure nothing came loose and add a waterproof barrier on the LED pack.

@Paul Sealing them like that is definitely a good idea! Especially with Jeeps being used for offroad stuff as much as they are.
