If you like a clean, factory look when not towing, this setup keeps it that way. The tabless design means there’s no obtrusive crossbar or protruding brackets showing, and the drawbar tabs stay attached to your tow bar instead of the vehicle. When you’re not towing, snap the included high-density polyethylene covers into the receivers to keep out dirt and debris so everything stays smooth for the next hookup.
Hooking up only takes a minute thanks to the twist-lock attachment system. Just insert each tab into the receiver, twist to lock it in place, and drop in the pull pin for extra security. To disconnect, pull the pin, twist again, and slide the arm free. It’s simple and consistent—great when you’re setting up solo at your campsite or storage lot.
This base plate kit bolts directly to the chassis with no welding required. The sturdy steel build spreads towing force evenly across the frame to help minimize stress on the suspension during long hauls. Every bracket is precisely aligned for a solid fit that stays dependable through miles of flat towing.
No need to replace your existing tow bar setup. This base plate works with Demco, etrailer, and Blue Ox tow bars without any adapter. If you’re running a Roadmaster bar, just add the correct adapter (DM9523036, DM9523062, DM9523014, or DM9523023, sold separately). It also comes with an electrical bracket so you can mount a round plug in an easy-to-reach spot for your wiring connection.
This design favors do-it-yourselfers who want a clean install without shop time. The kit includes all necessary hardware and detailed instructions for a straightforward bolt-on setup. With fixed mounting points and clear spacing—19-1/2" between brackets and an 18" bracket height—you can plan your towing gear confidently around these exact measurements.

Very good baseplate and easy to install. You do have to trim the front bumper a bit (1/2” wide by 3/4” deep) on the bottom to put it back on. The only issue I had were the outside factory screws on the skid plate that comes with this base plate. The factory screws are too short and I had to go buy 2 replacement screws to fit.
Took about 2 hours to install. That included gathering needed tools and putting them up.
Have not towed with it yet, but that will happen soon!!
I have not installed my base plate yet, but the 5-Stars is for the service I have received from etrailer I was sent the wrong base plate which fit the factory plastic bumper mine is a steel bumper, but etrailer was great about the easy return and repurchase. Hard to find companies with such great customer service.

I like this base plate. This is the baseplate I have installed. This was by far the simplest. However, I did experience one bolt failure when torquing to the required specs. The bolt snapped at 35 foot pounds. Instead of using the other similar number 8 bolts provided, I went and purchased new grade 8’s and they did just fine. Unfortunately the bolt that snapped had to be drilled and used an easy out to remove it. It just added to the install. The other thing to consider is it would be better if the manufacturer modified their design so the front bumper on Gladitor’s doesn’t have to be notched. I am experienced and have all the resources needed to perform this job so it wasn’t difficult to tackle. But I did not like having to notch my brand new bumper on my new Jeep. Someone who tackles this work without the proper tools could find themselves in a pickle. Buyers, be sure you have the skills before tackling this. Also you will need some help with the bumper removal and reinstall.

Installed easily thanks to the great video! The first one arrived damaged but a replacement was sent out immediately and it arrived fine. Although Demco needs to improve their packaging on these heavy awkward items.
This is the second Demco I have bought and really like the tabless system.
Well had to modify the baseplate. Gladiator Mojave X has oil shocks and the canisters are in the way of the baseplate. Had to cut about and inch off. Other then that perfect.
I use only Demco baseplates as they are the only brand that mount with no cutting or drilling. The Excalibar tow bar is very well made and handles my Jeep Gladiator with ease. It's also very simple and easy to hook and unhook. The excellent "how to" videos from etrailer sure helped me make the correct purchase decision.

The Demco base plate for our 2025 Jeep Gladiator is still the best choice out there. It required no drilling or cutting and is easily swapped out as we lease our Jeep and need to put it on the next Jeep every year. Also very easy to hook up and very robust construction.

Now I have the Demco Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms installed, and have pulled my 2019 Jeep JL behind my RV. So easy to hook up and disconnect. The heave duty diamond base plate looks good, does not look like a tow vehicle. Tow bar is heavy duty and well built.
