Video Transcript for Bonded 4 Wire: The Breakdown

Today, we're going to review part number 16-4B-1. This is the Deka bonded four wire per foot. This is a parallel primary wire that has four parallel conductors bonded together by this thermal plastic insulation and each conductor is independently color coded for easy identification. Basically, can see that it has the normal four wire color coding. The green, which is your right turning brake wire. Your yellow which is your left turning brake wire. Your brown, which is your tail lights, and your white, which is your ground. Each wire is a 16 gauge and again, on this part number, the price is per foot.

I have a foot of wire right here so you can order as many feet as you like. This is designed for use with 50 volts or less. That should do it for the review on part number 16-4B-1, the Deka bonded four wire per foot. .

  • Where Does the Transmitter for the Custer Wireless LED Tow Bar Light Go
The 4-pin round connector that includes the transmitter for the Custer Wireless LED Tow Bar Light # LIW-LDTL will plug into the 4-pin connector on your motorhome and then transmit the signal to the light bar. If you do not have a 4-pin round connector on your motorhome, you would need to add one. You can do this using the Pollak 4-Pole Round Wiring Socket # PK11404. Once you have the plug, you then need to route 16-gauge wire # 16-4B-1 to those pins into your current wiring. I have attached...

  • Installation of Trailer Lights with Red, Black, and White Wires to Traditional Trailer Wire Colors
Red, black, and white wires are common on many tail light assemblies. When this is the case, you will have red as stop and turn, black as running light, and white as ground. So you will connect yellow to red on one side of the trailer and green to red on the other side. Then on each side you will connect white to your frame or mounting hardware, and brown to black for your running lights. I've attached a video of similar lights # STL69RB to assist. If you need additional wire, use #...

  • Why Does Trailer's Wiring have Two Brown Wires
The brown (running light) wires all run to each other as they carry the same circuit. The reason there is two browns on the trailer side is because there are running lights that are on both sides of the trailer. Aside from that all the rest of the colors match with the white running to the trailer frame as a ground.

  • How Do Utility Trailer Lights Wire Up to the Trailer Wiring Harness.
The red wire is the turn signal wire and will be run to the green wire of your harness if its the right turn signal side, and the black wire will run to the brown wire of your harness. The yellow wire from your harness will run to the left turn signal red wire. The brown wire will also run to the black wire of this light also. I attached an FAQ on trailer wiring for you to check out also.

  • Trailer Taillight Recommendation to Replace a Bargman 91 Series Light
The Bargman 91 series lights have been discontinued, but for a similar light you would want the # 30-92-002 and then for the side with a license plate bracket you would want the # 30-92-004. This is basically the same light that you have except it has round corners on the lenses instead of square corners.

  • Does the Brake Output Wire Get Attached to a 12 Volt Trailer Battery
In order to rewire your trailer, I strongly recommend you use the Trailer Wiring 7-Way Upgrade Kit part # HS381-9000 with the Bonded 4 Wire part # 16-4B-1. This is going to ensure you have all the correct wire gauge and the junction box makes for a clean install as well as an easy way to troubleshoot if you ever have issues. In regards to the brake output wire part # 10-1-1, this will receive power from the tow vehicle's brake controller via the 7-way, not a battery during normal braking....

  • Wiring New Trailer Tail Lights to a Trailer with Only 2 Wires
It sounds like your trailer tail lights you are using now ground through the mounting hardware. That would be why there are only 2 wires. One of those two wires is going to be for turn signal/brake lights and the other is going to be for running lights. To determine which wire is which you can plug the trailer up to a vehicle and have someone step on the brake pedal while you test the wires at the back of the trailer using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. Whichever wire lights up the...

  • Wiring New 4-Way Connector on Trailer with 5 Wires
Going by the colors that you mentioned, it sounds like you have the typical set-up, green wire for right turn and brake, white wire for ground, yellow wire for left turn and brake, brown with green wire for right side running lights, and brown with yellow for left side running lights. If you are using a standard 4-flat connector like part # 18004, you will more than likely be able to connect color for color for the green, white, and yellow wires. • Troubleshooting Trailer Wiring That Stops Working When Headlights are On
Your main problem is an insufficient ground for the trailer wiring. Try improving the connection of the main ground wire of the trailer wiring harness. Make sure it is attached to a clean metal surface. Or you can run all of the trailer wires back to the main ground. This is actually the ideal solution. But you can also check the current grounds for the lights to make sure they are making a solid connection to a clean metal surface. What you described is the classic insufficient ground...

  • Parts Needed To Connect Lights From A Removable Trailer Extension To A 5th Wheel
Hi Rick, I am aware of the Swivelwheel extenders, though not the Blue Ox ones, so I do have an idea of what you are attempting to achieve. It sounds like what you are looking to do should pose no problems at all and shouldn't be too difficult either, especially if you are familiar with wiring. You will, of course, need some butt connectors, wiring, and both trailer and vehicle side 7 Way connectors. I have a list of everything you would need listed out below, but I included two different...

  • Determining Trailer Light Assembly Functions for Wire Colors Yellow, Black, and White
On the light assemblies the yellow wire will be the stop/turn circuit and the black will be the running light. So you have the white wires already figured out as the ground so on the right side of the trailer you'd run the green wire to the yellow wire of the light assembly and on the left side you'd run the green. You'd then run the brown wire to the black wires on both sides and you'd be set.

  • Why Does 4-Pin Trailer Wiring Have 5 Wires
Your 4-pin/5-wire wiring harness is what is called a "wishbone" type which simply means that there are two separate running light wires, one brown and one pink. This allows a separate running light wire for each side of the trailer which saves you having to run a jumper wire from one side of the trailer to the other. We offer lots of wiring items just like this, such as # A35W42B, # A20WB and # A10-4225VP, which happen to use two brown wires instead of one brown and one pink. The functions...

  • Wiring New 3 Wire Light on Trailer to Replace 2 Wire Light
I can't be certain what the function for each of the wires are on your new trailer lights, but one of the three wires is likely for ground. Your old/existing trailer lights grounded through their mounting hardware, which is why they only had two wires and didn't need a third for a ground connection. If you turn the light assembly over, the functions for each wire should hopefully labeled somewhere. The most likely scenario is that the black wire is for ground, the green wire is for stop/turn...

If the wires from your trailer are good and the power is good, then we just need to figure out what each wire on the light itself does. The best way to do that is to take a 12 volt power supply and apply that to each of the wires on your lights to see which bulb it illuminates. For example, when you use the Fusion LED Combination Tail Light Bar part # STL264RB, this has white, black, red, and yellow wires. The functions of these colors on this lights are as follows. To find the correct reverse light wire on your 2006 Chrysler Town and Country you will have to test the wires using a circuit tester such as # PTW2993. The problem is that vehicle manufacturers could use any color wire at any given time on the assembly line if they run out of the regular color wire they use. This is because there isn't a standard wiring color code. I would get access to the backs of the reverse lights and test the wires coming from the backs of the bulbs to ensure you...

This hitch will work on box frame, C-channel frame, or I-beam frame trailers. If your trailer doesn't have a trailer connector on the rear you'll also need to add that. • Troubleshooting Trailer Running Lights on Right Side Not Working
If the running lights on your right (or passenger) side are working, but they are working for the other side then this indicates that you either have a short, some damaged wiring, or your running light (or just the bulb) on the left side needs to be replaced. Since trailer running lights on both sides use the same wiring you know that your trailer is getting the power because one side is lighting up. Start at your trailer plug and work your way back to your running light on the right...

This is a common question we get on lights like the LED Trailer Tail Light with License Bracket part # 328-003-81LBM1.
