Im currently looking to set up a 2026 Jeep Gladiator Sahara to flat tow. Im looking to purchase the following items. etrailer tow bar e94zr etrailer base plate e98948 curt brake system RVI94FR curt custom wire kit C96JR Is there any other items I would need. Thank you

Hi Ken!

It looks like you have almost everything you need to set up your 2026 Jeep Gladiator Sahara for flat towing. The etrailer Invisible Base Plate Kit - Removable Arms # e98948 is a perfect fit and the etrailer XHD Non-Binding Tow Bar - RV Mount - 2" Hitch - 10,500 lbs # e94ZR will compliment that perfectly. These include the safety cables, so no other parts will be needed for this portion.

The Curt RVibrake Shadow 2 Flat Tow Brake System - Wireless Monitor - Proportional - Fixed # RVI94FR is a fairly all in one system, but you will also need the Roadmaster Stop Light Switch Kit # RM-751490 for everything to properly function. Jeeps don't have a "tow" position in the ignition, so this basically creates that.

For the wiring, the Curt Custom Tail Light Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles # C96JR technically will work, but it isn't my preferred way to go. It is plug and play (for the most part), which is nice, but it isn't all inclusive. Since you are going with a braking system, you will also need to grab the Curt Tow Bar 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord w/ 6-Way Socket - 7' Long # C59HR as well as the Curt Mounting Bracket # C92CR to attach the 6-Way to your Jeep.

The Roadmaster 4-Diode Universal Wiring Kit for Towed Vehicles - 7-Way to 6-Way Coiled Adapter Cord # RM-15267, on the other hand, includes everything you need to get wired up. It does require more work since it is a hardwired system, but the diodes do help keep everything protected better than the Curt set up would. This is my preferred wiring set up and would be the way I would go. Plus it's actually a bit less expensive then the Curt when you piece all the needed parts together.
