Trailer Hitch Recommendation for 2022 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:
I have a 2022 Subaru Crosstrek that I will be installing a hitch for. I was originally thinking the Blue Ox BLU73UR because that is one of the 3 hitches mentioned in the Crosstrek video you guys have. But I also see the Towsmart TS68ZR and the BandW BW32PR. Besides the weight capacity, what is your thoughts comparing those three trailers for a Crosstrek? I see most reviews are the the BandW...is there a reason for that?

Hey Chris, we do have more hitches now for your 2022 Subaru Crosstrek than what we had when we made the video you referenced but even with that in mind I would recommend the B and W part # BW32PR because it's mostly hidden and because it has the best towing capacities. Doesn't' hurt that it was also made in the USA. Are you planning on doing any towing?

It's easy to install, I was lazy and it still took under and hour. You do have to widen the holes in the underside of the chassis, but not very much. This thing is defiantly overkill for what I use it for, but over engineered things rarely cause problems. I use it mostly haul bicycles in a hitch mount Thule rack and i also have a Harbor freight trailer that doesn't get a lot of use. It was harder to calculate what drop, (rise) i needed for the ball mount than to install this thing on the car. I went with etrailer because of great past experience and better quality than what's offered at the dealership. You probably already know the Subaru hitch has less, (but adequate) capacity, but it also costs $500.00 more.
