I wanted one with a LED tester built into it to "trick" my SUV into thinking I had a trailer connected when really it was just a bike rack so the car didn't slam in it's brakes while reversing thinking it was something else. So I bought a different adapter.
The picture slightly deceived me into thinking this had LED tester because the plug is attached by a rubber string (that I thought was a wire). So add another picture of the other side and that would eliminate my confusion.
4 stars because it probably works the way 99% of people would want to use it for.
Once I got the receptacle for my 2021 VW ID.4 I needed the convert. This is retained nicely by the door on the receptacle so that it does not fall off enroute.

It works fantastic and lives on my utility trailer all the time.
It works, it doesn’t have indicator lights so it doesn’t make my Rivian think I’m towing unless I actually am. The cap is difficult to remove as it’s recessed into the unit, overall it does the job.

I gave up on using it after the 4 pin on the trailer lost a another prong and almost caused an accident because the lights weren’t working I bought a seven pin end and connected it to the trailer wiring. No refelection on this product. But the cheap four pin male on the trailer sucks.

Works perfect everytime we hook up.
Plugs right into the 7 prong plug on the back of our motorhome and reduces it down to 4 wire plug.. all light functions work with our wireless magnetic lights !!

Although I am commenting on this product, I actually would like to comment on the following products. I purchased a brake system, tow bar, base plates and wire harness from etrailer. All of my orders were filled in a timely manner. When I reached out for technical assistance, the advisors were readily accessible. All of the products were installed by me. All of the products were very easy to install by using the video and instructions.

I was able to use this successfully on my trailer and its working very well.
I am hoping this note can help many frustrated GMC Truck owners like myself. I have a 2021 GMC Sierra HD. It has a 7 pin plug on the truck, which is fine unless you want to tow a trailer with 4 or 5 pins. With a 4 pin trailer and other 7 to 4 pin adapters (like Curt and Reese) my left turn signal and left brake light would not work and I received an error on the screen in my truck. My dealership blamed my trailer, even though it did the same issue with 4 other trailers and even with no trailer attached, but just with the plug in the socket. I found two service bulletins from GMC, one from 2022 which blamed the customers trailer and one from 2024 which said you have to use GM OEM parts and recommended the Pollack 7 to 4 way connector adapter. By using this adapter, it works flawlessly. I hope this helps other GMC owners as there are a lot of complaints online with this issue. So its been a year since I got this adapter for my VW Atlas and I have used it many times on 2 different trailers and it still works perfectly. I am very happy with the product. Steve
Everything worked out well. On time and fits perfect. Attach hitch setup and my new Ridgeline.
It comes with a 2" inch receiver and I have a full compliment of 1.25. stuff from my previous car. All from etrailer i must admit!
so I needed the 2-1.25 reducer, a good lock, and the 7-4 reducer for my goodies!

great use it a lot
Works well to convert the 7-pin socket to a 4-pin type.
Thought I had a trailer wire issue, nope it was my old plug adaptor. I replaced it with this one and my problems went away. Seems well made.

I see what you wanted to do however using a LED tester would not provide enough resistance to make the SUV think that a trailer was plugged in. Typically what I recommend is turning off the feature in the SUV when you are using the bike rack. I know it can be a bit of a pain.
