Rust Resistant Trailer Hitch Options for a 2026 Subaru Crosstrek

Question:

I replaced my old Subaru Crosstrek with a new 2026 Crosstrek gas. The old one had a Curt hitch I purchased here. That hitch was a rust nightmare, required yearly maintenance, and eventually failed and became unusable. This time I want a stainless steel hitch. What do you have available for a 2026?

Hi Robert,

I'm sorry to hear you had so many issues with your old hitch, especially after having to maintain it every year and eventually replace it. That's honestly not something we hear all of the time and makes me wonder if you got a bad batch of powder coating. Sadly, we don't currently carry a stainless steel hitch for your 2026 Subaru Crosstrek.

If you're open to a steel hitch with a strong rust resistant finish, I'd recommend taking a look at B&W part # BW32PR. It has a UV resistant black powder coat designed to help protect the steel from moisture and road debris, and I've heard good things about their coating and rust resistance. While no steel coating is completely rustproof, this would be an option worth considering if you're looking for something with a little extra rust resistance.

Do you live somewhere that gets a lot of snow and road salt, or is your Crosstrek mainly exposed to rain and moisture?

I have the b&w hitch it is heavy duty. I have had the Curt’s on other cars. And the paint is horrible I would just lightly sand it and and repaint it again for more pretection. And hit it with fluid flim 1or 2 times a yr
